My initial review was going to be 2 stars!  I was upset that I was left waiting because Dr. Forsythe did not return from lunch on time and I was left waiting over 20 minutes!  After all... i'm paying high dollar and my time is valuable too!  That being said....I was extremely happy with the care and compassion that my little love received from the exceptional staff and Dr. Forsythe. Tracy.. you rock!! I wish I had written down everyone's names.. lesson learned!  Dr. Forsythe is cognizant of pain control and made sure my little girl was covered post-op.  He took extra time to answer all my questions... Westside Pet Clinic and the staff have been amazing over the last four years but, after a few changes in staff, the current team have taken it to another level.The doctor will take time to discuss alternate therapies where appropriate all treatment is delivered with care and love. The Westside Pet Clinic is amazing. I brought my girl Duchess in over a year ago in an emergency for her tummy and everyone took such good care of her. The Vet Techs there are amazing and the whole staff (Tracey, Stuart, Whitney and all)... I just had another issue with my pup's stomach this weekend and Dr. Karen was unbelievable. Not only is Duchess on the mend, but Dr. Karen checked in with me on a Saturday night on her own time and met me for follow up on a Sunday. Don't bring your large dogs here. The staff has no idea what they are doing. My very gentle, 66 pound, 2 year old pit bulls health has been deteriorating over the last few days. I recently moved to the area and this clinic was recommended by a friend. I called and was told I could get in later that same day and the cost for the exam would be $65. When I arrived they asked me to put my dog on the scale, which is in the lobby, but he wouldn't cooperate because there were other dogs present. Then they had me go into a room and wait until the other dogs left. Another nurse asked me to take my dogs temp. I refused, in my opinion, this task is their job since I am paying for the appointment. After waiting again for another nurse to assist, they gave up saying my dog would need to wear a soft muzzle. Then the actual vet came in only to do a very light exam and offer no real solutions to my dogs problems. I asked for a heart worm blood test so I could renew his prescription and they took my pup to the back of the office. Only to return 3 minutes later saying they weren't able to get the blood test because they scratched my dogs eye with their clip board. In the end I asked for anti nausea medication for my pup ($74) and had to pay $74 for the actual appointment. The vet and I walked to our cars at the same time. It's obvious she wanted to get home instead of helping my dog. Next day - no call to check in. Read Less

If I could leave less than one star I would. I have a lab mix and multiple times the notices / email updates about what my dog was due for were wrong and frequently (almost every single time) the front desk staff was unable to assist, not helpful and/or wrong. The vets there were OK but dealing with the office was so painful that I'm taking Kip (my dog) elsewhere in Santa Monica. The office was also ALWAYS out of supplements, foods, and meds so it made things even more painful. For the health sake and well being of your pet, I STRONGLY advise against dealing with this unorganized and unhelpful vet in Santa Monica. Read Less

I was very impressed by Westside Pet Clinic. I brought my 5 year old pit bull/mix in because she'd had flu-like symptoms. They're professional, communicative both before and after the exam, and seem to genuinely want what is best for your pet. I feel like most vets try to persuade you into doing unnecessary (and often expensive) diagnostic tests or taking medication, but I felt that the Westside vet and staff were more focused on helping you weigh your options and make an informed decision. I would highly recommend and will definitely be bringing my pup back in the future.Read Less

They know your name upon entering! Appointments are on time. The office and exam rooms are clean and oder free! The staff is friendly and engaging! Very clear on the cost and pricing of office visits, meds and have tons of helpful free tips for you pet to be healthy and happy! My dogs give it 5 PAWS! Read Less

I took my dog to Dr. Mustakas for a wellness exam. Her knowledge of dogs blew me away. She has such an amazing kindness and professionalism about her, that not only made me feel so confident about her examining my dog, but made my dog feel at ease. Her staff was so helpful in guiding me through the different treatments for my dog. Linda, especially, rose to the occasion when I needed help. I have never been crazy about taking my dog to the veterinarian, because usually he is so afraid, but not at Westside Pet Clinic . Dr. Mustakas is truly a credit to her craft. I love coming here! Dr. Mustakas was amazing with my dog, Chase, who had a bad experience with another Clinic years ago making him *extremely afraid* of the vet. What can I say about Westside Pet Clinic except that they are disorganized, inefficient and dont care at all about customer satisfaction. Perhaps they are too busy trying to sell an assortment of high priced tests, procedures and stuff to really care. Ive been taking my two dogs to Westside Pet Clinic for just over one-year now and we wont be back! Thats right..we will not be back!! Yes it took a year of botched services (endless prescribed medication refills not ready at the time they were promised, numerous prescription dog food orders never placed with vendor, numerous messages left for the clinic owner that were ignored and unanswered over the course of this past year) for me to finally come to this realization, but Im an optimist what can I say? On my most recent visit (May 2, 2014), the medication refill that was promised would be ready was once again NOT ready even though it was showing up in their system. I had to wait on the veterinarian for 20-minutes to arrive to the clinic so that she could authorize the refill. So even though it was their error I was still inconvenienced. I asked to speak with the veterinarian and was told she didnt have time to speak with me. Really? You dont mind speaking with me when youre trying to sell me on your overpriced and unnecessary tests and procedures. I understand though that listening to the customer isnt revenue generating. Guess what Westside Pet Clinic..when you dont listen to your customers it DOES negatively impact your ability to generate revenue. Outstanding staff. We saw Dr. M, she was fantastic. Everyone we interacted with was knowledgeable and friendly. Their service is top-notch, and it is clear as day each and every animal is well loved in this facility. This trip was for my 13 year old cat. I've had some difficulty finding a vet in the LA area that I felt was listening to my observations and knowledge of my pet- this team did precisely that. It was a real relief to not have to review the same information three times over with two people and have them then ask me questions that I had already given them the answers to when I told them whats been going on in the first place. Cat has never been a huge fan of trips to the vet, and even I have come to dread them just due to lack of finding a vet and staff that I could connect with. What a wonderful and pleasant surprise with this team! I think we will most likely switch my yorkshire terrier over to this veterinarian as well.Read Less
