Banfield Pet Hospital

Santa Rosa, California
General Info
Families in Santa Rosa rely on Banfield Pet Hospital plans for comprehensive care (joint health support, breed-specific routines, and timely rechecks attuned to California lifestyle/weather). The appointment starts with questions about the patient’s daily movement habits such as climbing ability, resting position preferences, jumping tolerance levels, fatigue experiences, and social behavior tendencies. The head-to-tail examination focuses on evaluating the following aspects: weight, orthopedic symmetry, range of motion, coat health, breathing comfort, oral condition, and sensory response. The evaluation of potential breed weaknesses such as hip dysplasia or spine issues, allergies, or overheating relies on both the pet history and physical examination cues. Banfield Pet Hospital offers various services, such as vaccine programs, lab work, lameness checks, nutritional coaching, dental exams and pain evaluations. Reexamination timing is also often dictated by the seasonal nature of the disease and breed related pre-dispositions such as large dog joint stiffness in winter, pollen induced spring flare-ups or inability to exercise due to heat in atopic breeds. The planning process might involve age modifications and recommendations for conditioning activities. Every household receives detailed visit reports regarding home-based adjustments to traction, harness type, temperature awareness, weight target advice and other monitoring notes. Return timelines can be set based on athletic milestones (for recovery tracking) and weather (to plan steps for arthritis-prone or senior pets). Banfield Pet Hospital offers a proactive approach to pet owners in Santa Rosa and the rest of California to ensure their safety through movement, timing, and breed awareness. The team provides specialized services such as: Clients consistently commend the practice for its commitment to care and attention to each pet’s needs. People from the pet store will come in and play with your sick dog. Everytime ive been here people have come from target or bestbuy just "to see the puppys". The staff ( a tech) actually encouraged my 70+ lb to jump on her by petting him. even after i had made it clear i didnt want my dog to be jumping on strangers she said "its ok i dont mind" well i do mind, i just said so... I took my dog in to be neutered, just neutered, but when i picked him up he had been chiped and had all his nails cut. I didnt want him to be chipped by banefield or have his nails cut. His nails didnt need to be cut and almost all of them were bleeding to the point were they had put quick coagulant in the "wounds" ive always grinded his nails not cut them becuase his follicles are weird, if they had asked for my consent i would have explained that to them. I asked why the aforementioned was done without informing me (especially considering they charged me) and no one could answer me. I Called banfield corporate 3 times over 2 week's and was told id receive a call back in 3-4 days which i never received. Theres so many "real vet office's" in santa rosa please dont go here. I only went becasue of the stability and accountability associated with a "chain", but this place is bad. Not to mention when i got home i found out they had sold me some store brand ear cleaner by sneaking it into my bag when picking up my dog, who does that?... Theres a reason there not registered witg the BBB EDIT* if you dont believe check consumer affairs, i bet all these google reviews are friends or family of the staff. Read Less
