I love Cuyamaca Animal Hospital! My family and I have been taking our pets there for more than a decade and we always get great care for our animals. Their prices are competitive, they never try to upsell you on expensive or unnecessary procedures, and they are always very caring and committed to doing what is best for you and your pet! When my beloved cat of 17 years was injured they did not encourage me to run a bunch of expensive tests, instead stating simply that, despite what the tests found, the results would likely be the same. They then allowed me as much time as I needed to say good-bye, and then allowed me to hold her to the end. Throughout the staff was caring and empathetic, and even sent a condolence card later. Been taking my pets to them for almost 10 years. Recently had to take my 15 year old dog to an emergency hospital because she had a swollen face. They looked at her for a minute and said she needed surgery and it would be $750. I called my vet, and they brought her in, gave her a thorough exam, and said NOT to do the surgery. Just to give her the antibiotics, because of her age. I appreciated their honesty and not just trying to get some $$$ from me. She is fine now, by the way! Read Less

The best Vet office ever!!! I absolutely love Dr. Lori Martin and have been an avid customer of hers since she was "over at that other place" many years ago. Dr. Lori saved a very sick kitty for me years ago with cancer using a chemo therapy that extended her life well beyond what was expected. My cat is now known around her office as "Buttons the Miracle Kitty", as she lived far longer with their loving care. Lori and her staff are highly knowledgeable and able to handle anything that comes up, even exotic problems you may have with your pets. All the Vets working there are just as highly skilled and the atmosphere is loving. I tell everyone who asks about this office and all the caring, trained technicians. I took my dog in last year due to an emergency vet intern causing my dog to become paralyzed (somehow caused compression on the spinal nerves). The entire team was sympathetic and understanding and didn't make me feel like a horrible pet parent when my dog peed on the floor as she couldn't walk to get to the door to go outside. Dr. Martin examined my Penny and gave her a heavy duty anti-inflammatory/steroid shot and told me to come back in a week. Within two days Penny was starting to walk. The facility has a boarding service that gives one the ability to go on vacations, and trips, without having to worry about ones pet's well being. HORRIBLE customer service! I pulled up to this vet a little after they closed, frantic because my pet was badly injured. Two women at the desk ignored my knocking and pointing down to him for help. One walked in the back so I thought I was getting help until she came back a minute and a half later and sat down like nothing happened. Like I wasn't there looking for help! I had to continue to knock and wave until they said they're closed. (DUH!) I yelled I needed help and she said none of the staff were there so I yelled again through the door for the address of the closest vet open and she came out finally and gave me a pamphlet of the closest open vet. I know I'm young but I deserve good service too! I'm guessing they care about their job and NOT about animals. Not the first problem with this horrible vet. Read Less

The care and concern that the staff and all the veterinarians especially Dr. Ingalls provide surpasses any expectation. They take excellent care of our Buddy who is our senior fellow. They also have excellent boarding facilities next door in the same office as the vet. My Buddy is always excited to go visit the girls at Furry Friends Resort. I absolutely love this Clinic. Honest, reliable and caring. I live all the way down in Chula Vista and have taken my dogs here for the past 5yrs. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pugs. Best of all, is that they are affordable. Make no mistake, Vet Bills are expensive, but I find them to be 20%-30% cheaper, but in the end it is not so much the price that brings me here, it is the Staff and Excellent Veterinarians that keep me coming back. My dogs have known them all their lives and are very comfortable with the staff. They're all very caring and loving to people and pets alike. They've always helped me out by trying to keep costs down as much as possible. When I had to put one of my dogs down last August, I think it upset them almost as much as it did me. Amazing hospital for your furbabies. I have never once doubted the Dr's or staff here at Cuyamaca. We have pitbulls, yorkies, very antisocial cats, and we also rescue! One of our yorkies has been seen at Cuyamaca since he was a fetus! Most importantly, we have never experience breed specific prejudice with our pitbulls here at Cuyamaca. I just took my dog "Jack" in this morning, because he had a bad ear infection.I was really worried about the cost, but I knew he needed to go see the Vet. I am a stay at home mom and my husband is the only one working right now. To make my story short, my bill was going to be high..."any amount at this point is out of my reach". But Doctor Kerri McMahon saw Jack without an appointment and gave me the medicine that Jack needed for FREE "It was DONATED medicine" but just what he needed....I truly recommened this facility to everyone, the whole staff is loving, caring and friendly to every person and especially our pets.
