I absolutely adore the staff at Animal Kingdom. Dr. Waldo is fantastic. I am a very anxious dog mom & he always seems to calm my nerves whenever my boxer-mix and I are in the office. Dr. Waldo and the entire staff at Animal Kingdom are AMAZING! We had a perviously horrible experience at another local vet where they had to keep my boxer over night and she subsequently was put on their "aggressive dogs" list. I know for a fact that something bad happened to our dog at the vet which is why we switched to Dr. Waldo. We are so happy that we made the switch, our dog is at ease here and I trust them with her. Dr. Waldo has been incredible with our dog and we have never had any issues. They are always accommodating if we need to get in there quickly for an emergency and I consistently feel like we are getting the best opinion and care for our fur baby. I have been going to my old vet for over 10 years and I was so ready for a change due to poor customer service. Dr. Waldo and his staff are all so amazing!!We first found him a few years ago when we were calling around for an emergency euthanasia for our dog. Sadly, she was very old but was doing fine until one night when she was in horrible amounts of pain. We had never seen or heard her act in such a way before, and we knew that it was time. We called our vet at 8am sharp the next morning and told them our situation, explaining that she was in such severe pain. They put us on hold for 20 minutes, and finally came back telling us they could fit her in the next morning. Really? We tell you our dog is in excruciating pain and you can't make time to help her be at peace? Fine. Then the best part. We saw Animal Kingdom on google and called and explained our situation. We had never been a client there, never heard about them, but they told us to bring her right in, their other appointments would understand. My parents took her in, and Dr. Waldo and his staff were so empathetic towards us and our old girl. My parents stayed in the room, and when they came back they could only describe the love and concern Dr. Waldo displayed towards our girl as she was finally able to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Every aspect of this Hospital just exudes respect and love for both the animals and clientele. I appreciate Dr. Waldo and his staff for being thorough and patient, kind and understanding. When my cat suffered a broken jaw this week, his office squeezed me in twice for same day appointments, answered my million questions and phone calls, and have supported me in every way possible so that I may do the best for my cat within my means. Dr. Waldo is honest about her prognosis and options without pressuring me to do more than I can, while providing me with the information and tools to properly care for her injuries.He called me on a Sunday to see how she is doing and listen to my concerns! He is professional, kind, and beyond competent, never implying that I am a bother or a nuisance. His staff was kind and caring when I came in freaking out and in tears. Dr. Waldo and his staff are all very knowledgeable, helpful and kind.Dr. Waldo was extremely accommodating recently when a rabbit I own had an urgent care issue, he went above and beyond. Dr. Waldo rushed into the office to help my suffering pet with very little notice. He is very conscientious and gives each animal (and human) excellent attention and care. Thanks Dr. Waldo!In addition, the staff members have always been kind and helpful too. They always take the time to explain and answer questions to all my concerns. Dr. Waldo is excellent, but his office staff will drive you away with their rudeness and mismanagement.I prefer to find a vet with a staff that does not call me sweetie and LISTENS to their clients.My dog is in their files as owned by a person that does not exist because the staff took the first name of one of my kids and the last name of a person dropping my dog off for me and merged them together.  Now it is my problem to get a certified letter from the unknown person to confirm my dog as belonging to me.  I am not here to straighten out their mistakes. I found a new vet.I think the world of Dr. Waldo, have been taking my animals to him for about 10 years,  but the intensity of the staff rudeness and non existent professionalism, ie, name calling and hanging up on me have driven me elsewhere.Oh, and let's not forget the 10 to 15 minute waits on hold to schedule an appointment.No thanks. I can highly recommend this Vet to you! While in Sebastopol for a short break from the city, my dog sprained her leg playing frisbee and was limping heavily, clearly in pain. I was worried about being a stranger in town and not knowing a Vet here or if we could get an appointment quickly. The good news is that my lovely Airbnb hostess had 2 dogs of her own and ref'd me to Dr.Waldo!I called the office as soon as they opened the next day was and I was warmly and professionally taken care of by Michelle. She got me an appointment an hour from my call - which was a nice surprise! The office staff and Dr.Waldo were just as nice in person as they were over the phone. The office is in a darling Victorian and was easy to find. The doc took time to listen to me ramble on and did a thorough check up of B. Within hours of taking the recommend prescription she was no longer limping and back to her happy self again. Don't hesitate to make an appointment for your pet, they will be well cared for here! Dr Waldo is our chickens' veterinarian. Our rooster has been fighting an infection in a leg wound, and we get regular follow up calls from the office to check on how he is doing. I can only say that I wish my human family got the same kind of focused, patient, and expert care from our doctor that our rooster receives from our vet!   Dr. Waldo truly cares about animals!  even 8 year old New Hampshire Red roosters. My dog and I do not currently live in Sebastopol, however, i needed help for him, on very short notice. I started to call local vets and got nothing but minimal interest from the first two. ( Not our patient kind of thing).Then I found Dr Waldo at this clinic. He fit us right in, expedited blood work , communicated with my regular vet back home and was truly concerned about my dog's well being. Dr Waldo even followed up by telephone a few days after I got my pet to his regular vet later that week. I highly recommend him and his clinic. I think he cares a great deal about animals. Read Less

I'm picky when it comes to Vets and with Dr. Waldo its worth paying a little more for great service to animal and owner alike. Our beloved cat was a patient of his for about 5 years before she got diagnosed with a tumor. When I asked how much it would cost to get a biopsy, Dr. Waldo was honest and even told me I could try cheaper Vets to go through to get the biopsy. But he also was very blunt (in a kind, sympathetic way) that due to her symptoms it was obviously attached or touching her brain and therefor the out look was grim. In the end we let her live as long as she could before bringing her in to be put to sleep. Dr. Waldo allowed me a great deal of time alone with her in the *only* patient room. I think I was there for about 30min before I came out and told them I was ready. I didn't stay through the process - I was too heartbroken and left. I sat in the car crying a while and one of the staff members noticed and came out to me. She told me how peacefully she went and offered to have me come back and say one last goodbye. I declined, but was so touched by how respectfully both Dr. Waldo and staff handled the situation. Other Cats we've had have gone to Dr. Waldo and he is always very gentle with them. My last (as in, "Final"), ever, visit to Animal Kingdom was June 28, 2011.   We were there to get my cat shots and a micro-chip, which Dr. Waldo said he couldn't admiinster due to a bite wound he found. After I was directed to the waiting room, Patch might (or might not) have been treated for his wound. I'll never know because someone there took his carrier apart and reassembled it incorrectly without my knowledge.  Patch fell out of it on the way to the car, ran in fear and has not returned from the brush where he disappeared on the other side of Morris Street.Dr. Waldo denies any responsibility for the incident and his staff has been insensitive to my loss.  When I attempted to take measures that would lure Patch back to that location by leaving food for him at night,, I was told by an assistant, "that attracts rats and we don't want to deal with that." Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't having a cat around take care of that?I hope no one else ever has an experience like this.  It has been heartbreaking. Read Less

Dr Waldo is....- Kind. - Always takes whatever time is necessary to explain procedure, instructions, cause/effect, etc. He has never made me feel he is in a hurry or has someone after me. When he is with you, he is with you - & your pet.  - Uses language that is both layman & technical in a way I believe anyone would understand & appreciate. - Always calls back &/or follows up on pet without my having to call him. - And most of all, most pet owners can sense if a vet doesnt have a genuine interest not just in animals, but in "their" animal.
