This specialist is brilliant! My vet was sure my Husky Dawn had glaucoma and sent me here on emergency. However on examination Dr. Silverman quickly saw it was not glaucoma, which if advanced could have meant an expensive surgery. He got me in right away that day, even with a full schedule. He made time for me -- and answered all my questions. Dawn had an infection the doctor treated with medicine. Dr. Silverman is a great man. My vet spoke highly of how he is known for his ethics in the veterinarian community. Dr. Silverman is easy to talk to, explains everything, and is funny on top of it. He has a great sense of humor, which put me right at ease. This is so nice when a person is terrified their dog could go blind. I highly recommend him. As does my vet. He's been sending patients here for almost 20 years. Read Less

I came to Dr. Silverman on the recommendation of several friends, my family and my vet. I had heard he was excellent. My Min-Pin needed cataract surgery. I do believe this specialist is the most talented in the Southern California area having practiced longer than any other animal eye care specialist since 1999. His caring for both the clients and pets is extremely obvious. Some of the online postings I read I just have to laugh at -- They seem like people with issues who have nothing better to do than rant online about upstanding and hardworking doctors. Complaints about having to keep a dog still after a 4 hour cataract surgery? The need for a protective cone to keep sutures in place? The cataract surgery was perfect but the person is upset because one day they couldn't find a parking place? So much that is posted is just long winded absurdity. This is a first rate specialist. What gets me is that people forget that a dog, like a human, does not come with a guarantee that lasts forever. No living thing does. Dogs like people get older. Conditions change. This is why Dr. Silverman has to see a dog or cat at least once a year to legally renew medicine. Last time I was in, he mentioned to me how so many people online think they can be their own doctors and make their own diagnoses. This is sad both for them, their pets, and all the vets they defame online. Dr. Silverman lived up to his reputation by giving my Min-Pin back sight (and even got lenses in the eyes -- free of charge). We also get a month of rechecks at no charge. Highly recommend this doctor. Read Less

When my Bulldog got back from the groomer his eye popped out! I rushed him to the vet. He sent me to Dr. Silverman. This specialist is the leader in animal eye surgery in L.A. -- if it is necessary -- after practicing for 20 years. However, Dr. Silverman is known for trying to do everything necessary to stay away from surgery and treating with medicine. He does his very best to think of the client and patient. He is especially known as leading in cataract surgery. My veterinarian told me Dr. Silverman has over 300 referring vets in the L.A. Area. I thought he was terrific. He was a strong person who took plenty of time answering my questions and although I was sure my dog would need surgery, he got the eye back in and prescribed medication to help with inflammation! Amazing! The eye didn't have to be removed at all. Even my vet was sure the eye would have to be removed. I would recommend Dr. Silverman to anyone. Read Less

This specialist lives up to his reputation! I was sent here by 3 different veterinarians. They all highly recommended Dr. Bruce Silverman specifically for cataract surgery. He has been practicing longer that any other specialist in the LA area. I found him great! Cataract surgery is not inexpensive but Dr. Silverman really thinks of the people. He gives a month of free visits after surgery, takes Care Credit, and gives my pet's eye lenses during surgery for free if he can as well. This is savings of hundreds and hundreds of dollars over others!! I can see why the vets keep referring to him. My dog Honey sees beautifully now. I can't put a price on that! This is a great place to go for cataract surgery for your pet. Read Less

Extremely ethical! My Pug healed after I left a surgical deposit. This Dr. returned my money and cancelled surgery even though it upset his day. He is not after money. He is truthful! This is so rare. I can not say enough good things about this specialist. With so many doctors wanting to rush you into surgery, this specialist is honest. I look at negative reviews -- my vet told me when you have been around as long as Dr. Silverman people can want to attack you. Normal balanced people do not talk like these people. Dr. Silverman is top of the line and has practiced longer than any animal eye specialist in Los Angeles. My vet only refers to him. I can see why! Read Less

Both friends and my vet spoke very highly of Dr. Silverman's skill with cataract surgery. He is known to be the best eye specialist around. So when my Llhasa Rigger's eye ulcer was not healing my vet sent me directly to this doctor. He did a wonderful job! The ulcer was treated and healed. There were medications I had to use, however he was very careful not to prescribe anything I already had. My vet let me know Dr. Silverman is highly respected as an eye specialist in the veterinary community -- I could tell he had high ethics after being a vet himself for two decades before specializing as a ophthalmologist. He took time and explained everything to me thoroughly. The staff was caring and right on the ball. I was glad I did not wait because eye ulcers can get deep easily and require surgery. Luckily I got right in and Dr. Silverman could treat the ulcer with a contact lens which helped it heal quickly and kept the price down. I am so happy Riggers was in such good hands and is out of pain. You live up to your great rep Dr. Silverman! Thank you! Read Less

I was expecting to pay double the price! My Lab Chloe had an ulcer that wasn't healing. My vet insisted that I go to Dr. Silverman, a veterinary eye specialist who is known especially for cataract surgeries. My vet said this ophthalmologist does every eye surgery and procedure for animals, except for certifying litters of puppies and kittens for breeders. It is not necessary to do this to be an expert in the field. The veterinary ophthalmology boards do allow a doctor to do a special exam for breeders, my vet said. However, Dr. Silverman is so busy I don't know if he would have the time for this. He has been in practice for 20 years and has referrals from hundreds of vets all over Southern California. My vet has tremendous admiration for him. He refers all his animal eye cases here -- and has for as long as Dr. Silverman has been in practice. Dr. Silverman was a regular vet himself for 20 years before he did his residency and specialized in ophthalmology. He knows many of the referring vets from years and years ago before he did his training as an eye surgeon. He is the longest practicing ophthalmologist in the L.A. area according to my veterinarian. My vet said in the vet community, Dr. Silverman is known to be ethical and tries to keep prices down. He cares about the people and pets who come in. This is evident right away. He took my dog in the back for around 5 minutes and put a contact lens on her eye. This worked as a bandage for the next 10 days while I put in drops. I thought Chloe would definitely need surgery but with the drops, her eye healed beautifully. Dr. SIlverman was compassionate, understanding and answered all my questions. If I didn't come in, my dog could've lost her eye. I am glad I took the time. Read Less

While I was visiting my mother, my dog Lila lost all sight and fell in the pool. I rushed her to the vet who got her right over to Dr. Silverman in case she had developed cataracts. Dr. Silverman is known to be a top specialist with this surgery having done it for 20 years. My vet thinks he is great. Before proceeding ahead, Dr. Silverman ran a test on Lila to see if she would be a candidate for the surgery after my vet first doing bloodwork to be sure she could handle the anesthesia. Thank God she was. I am so grateful. She is only 4 years old. My vet and Dr. Silverman worked together and were very thorough. The surgery is not inexpensive but I have a Care Credit account which splits the payments into 6 with no interest. This is so valuable dog owners! You can open an account right in the office here. Dr. Silverman did a fantastic surgery and got Lila her sight back in one day. I also went back several times in the course of one month so he could check her vision with NO CHARGE! Dr. SIlverman has been practicing a long time, is nice, calm and easy to talk to. His staff is efficient and knew just what to do. These are good down to earth people you don't run across every day. Dr. Silverman not only saved my dog's vision, his experience saved his life. When my Pug went blind, my vet sent me to this specialist for cataract evaluation. He sends all his clients here. Dr. Silverman was a regular vet for 20 years before finishing his residency and specializing in ophthalmology. He has been practicing in the L.A. area longer than any other specialist my vet said, since 1999. 2 friends of mine also have had cataract surgery done here on their dogs and also highly recommend him. Here is where his experience really shined through: In the cataract testing done prior to surgery Dr. Silverman discovered my dog's heart rate was too slow. He stopped then and there and sent me to a cardiologist. There was only a slight risk, he could have proceeded into surgery, but due to his experience as a regular veterinarian before becoming a specialist, Dr. Silverman stopped right there and would not proceed. He did not want to take any risks with Riley's life. My vet also was in complete agreement. I wanted him to take the chance but he felt safety was more important. This is where he gets his reputation and why other vets respect and send to him. I had a pacemaker put in my dog, and sometime later when the cardiologist said it was okay, I proceeded with cataract surgery. Dr. Silverman would not take a chance and worked with the cardiologist. It went beautifully. I am so thankful for the thoroughness and experience of this specialist. Someone less trained could have missed this and Riley could have died on the table. The testing and reading of the results by Dr. Silverman was such a blessing. I had no idea my dog was having heart issues. Now he has a stronger heart and great vision. Read Less

I was so happy to get a Saturday appointment when my vet sent me to Dr. Silverman, who he recommends to clients for cataract surgery. My work schedule is very busy. My dog Jumper had developed cataracts on top of diabetes so it took time to get his blood levels under control for cataract surgery. My vet and Dr. Silverman worked closely together to make this happen. On the day of the surgery everything went right by the numbers. Jumper's blood levels were monitored and sight was restored by Dr. Silverman. He is terrific. I was so surprised by things people waste their time writing about on places like Yelp. People upset about the need to leave a deposit to save surgical time with exaggerated prices that are far more than the doctor asks for? An actual lie. These are busy surgeons. If a person cancels at the last minute it leaves hours of time set aside that can not be filled. And the idea that several years later the dog may not retain perfect sight or have a completely different infection? Things can happen years later. It is not the fault of the surgeon from years prior. And the owner admits a successful surgery that was paid 80% by her insurance company. Where is her gratitude? Hard to believe. She is unhappy and wants to take this out on Dr. Silverman who successfully gave her dog back sight for years. Or another post raising a question about doctors talking together about how to handle a case. This happens all the time. Constantly. My vet and Dr. Silverman were on the phone all the time about Jumper's bloodwork. One post even complained Dr. Silverman had no right to take a vacation. Really? Who are these people? Jumper's cataract surgery went beautifully. Dr. Silverman did a great job -- with the help of my vet -- who respects and recommended Dr. Silverman highly. Jumper's sight is completely restored. It is too bad that Yelp allows such mean spirited posts with no regard for such recklessness that just reflects instability. The receptionist helped me open up a payment plan -- care credit - which actually gave me 2 years to pay for Jumper's surgery!! This means I will be paying an incredibly reasonable amount monthly for vision for Jumper. Totally affordable. Now I understand the meaning of gratitude! This is just fantastic. If I could have I would have gotten insurance before. But the payment plan is great. And this clinic helped me with the whole thing. Dr. Silverman has a great bedside manner, sense of humor, and does wonderful work. You don't stay a top eye specialist for 20 years without a great reputation. Dr. Silverman explained all the options I had with Jumper and spent a lot of time with me. You can tell the expertise of this man. I am very glad I came here on my vet's advice. Read Less

My pug Igor ran into a bush and hurt his eye. My vet said the only specialist he trusted was Dr. Silverman. What amazed me was I called after hours on the emergency line and it went right through to what must have been the doctor's cell phone! This is dedication! He would have driven down to meet me that very night but I decided to wait until the following morning. I would not have called on an emergency line unless my vet told me to, with my vet thinking this was a serious enough situation. Dr. Silverman told me to take food and water away in case Igor needed surgery and to be there first thing in the morning. I was there right at 8:00. Luckily, he could treat Igor with medication. Top Cataract SpecialistGreat expertise with cataract surgery. Dr. Silverman was highly recommended by two vets in our area. Our dog was seeing by the end of the day. I could not believe it. When I brought in Danner his eyes were white opaque discs. He had gotten diabetes suddenly and gone completely blind.Luckily, tests showed he was a good candidate for cataract surgery. We set the day and I dropped him off. Cataract surgery has a 95% success rate. It is not inexpensive anywhere but Dr. Silverman gives a month of free rechecks so that helps with the cost. Having been in Sherman Oaks doing cataract surgery since 1999, his expertise with this is evident. Depending on the condition of the animal he also does his best to put in a lens to further enhance vision. There is no extra charge for this either, where my friend was charged several hundred extra for this with another animal eye specialist. I found Dr. Silverman caring, and an all around nice down to earth animal ophthalmologist, with a great outgoing personality. You can tell he cares and is very thorough. When I picked up Danner that afternoon, his eyes had gone from pure white and blind back to their natural beautiful crystal brown. The diabetes had been carefully monitored throughout the entire procedure. When I walked from one side of Danner to the other and his head turned to follow me! Dr. Silverman had completely restored Danner to a happy seeing dog in a few hours which he remains. This was completely worth doing to me. Read Less

Dr. Silverman is an embarassment to the veterinary professional another cog in the wheel of the "eye care mafia" in Southern California, who all circle their wagons when one of the makes a series of enormous errors. So, just so everyone out there knows, these doctors, who are at best marginally qualified are performing eye surgeries which they know are highly risky. Apparently the only good option is to take your animal to UC Davis which has a proper medical center. Anything else is basically playing russian roulette with your pet. When one of them messes up, and you try to get a second opinion, they are happy to take your money for an exam (this has now happened twice after a double botched eye surgery at VCA).But when you actually want them to stand behind their work, and in this case, to perform a life saving surgery which they had already provided a quote for, and said was an emergency (also a lie), they will go behind your back and without permission contact the prior medical professional to collude with them, and then in the end deny care.So after scheduling the pre-op consulation so I can have the "emergency" surgery for my dog scheduled for tomorrow morning, I get a call tonight (the night before) at 5:30, from Dr. Silverman's secretary, Lisa, who tells me that they are cancelling my appointment and that they will not see my dog. They will not provide any documentation from the prior visit, nor will the Doctor himself even get on the phone. They also refuse to turn over the records from the visit and the examination. This is a violation of Veterinary Ethics as "Veterinarians are obligated to provide copies or summaries of medical records when requested by the client" and a violation of California Business and Professions Code section 4855.This is the most disgusting spineless action I have ever experienced from a medical professional and he should be in shame for his renegging on a sick patient at the last minute. I live in the Bay Area and when our vet told us that our dog had a tumor on the lid of his eye, my family freaked out.  A neighbor told us of a great experience they had in Los Angeles and as crazy as this might sound, I called Dr. Silverman on a Saturday night and he called back within the hour.  I drove down Sunday evening and he fit me in as an early appointment on Monday.  Dr. Silverman looked at our dog and told me to come back in the afternoon after surgery was done. When I came back, Dr. Silverman told me it took much less time than he thought and ended up charging only half of what he'd originally quoted.I have read some of the other less positive reviews and all I can say is that I found the team at Complete Eye Care to be professional and honest.  I recognized Dr. Silverman as an East Coaster and a straight shooter. I couldn't believe the savings I received here. My friends had told me about how down to earth, kind and compassionate Dr. Silverman is. 3 vets also who spoke highly of him. (One said he wished Dr. Silverman could be his own ophthalmologist!) So when my dog Lacey needed an in-depth surgery because of a tumor on the lid of the eye, I went right to see him. The surgery was going to take several hours of the doctor's time and was going to cost a lot. Luckily I had a care credit account I opened at that office. That allowed me to make 24 payments once a month with no interest. However, (I was not expecting this,) when I came later in the afternoon to pick up my dog I was only charged half the price! It turned out that much of the tumor had resolved and Dr. Silverman did not need to do nearly as much work as he had thought. He only charged me for the time he needed. This was half the cost of the surgery! I was so impressed with this kind of honesty. I can see why Dr. Silverman has a great reputation. Read Less

My dog had a corneal ulcer when my vet sent me to an animal eye specialist. It was deep -- the eye could have ruptured. My dog could have needed surgery but Dr. Silverman worked with me to treat my dog with medicine to try to keep costs down. This kept me much busier than I wanted -- I was up most of the night putting in drops -- however, it saved my dog's vision. When I was back a few days later my dog's eye was much better. I found Dr. Silverman to be ethical and a caring eye specialist. He gave me a quote for a surgery if the result had been different, but luckily his diagnosis worked perfectly. The facility was clean and the staff understanding and efficient. Dr. Silverman was excellent. Five stars to the anesthesiologist who had to put my 16 year old cat Barney through surgery TWICE! Dr. Silverman gets two star, only because of the bizarre reaction my cat had to the surgeries. My cat Barney went in for surgery to remove his lenses. He survived, but broke out in very bad herpes blisters on his eyes. It was so bad that he had to go into surgery a second time to have the blisters cauterized. He survived again! But a strange grey film developed on both eyes. He could not see at all. Dr. Silverman said he had never seen anything like it and said it was probably just scar tissue from the herpes blisters. Weeks later I noticed the strange grey film was actually flaking off of his eye. No one knew what it was. Months later, I just happened to be visiting my parents and decided to take Barney in to see another specialist. (Animal eye doctors are hard to come by). The guy knew exactly what the grey film was and gave me EDTA eye drops. The grey film, which was apparently some sort of fluid or calcium deposits slowly cleared up. Dr. Silverman on the other hand said he had no idea what they were and was content to just leave it at that. (Also, just a word of advice: Herpes! Most cats carry the virus and the stress of surgery can cause them to break out, making the healing process even more hazardous. So just be prepared for that. I sure wasn't.) Barney ended up surviving and he eyes mostly cleared up, although with out lenses he could barely see. Good luck! Read Less

I called this eye vet because I needed to get my dog's eyes checked so that she could get her  CERF registration renewed. CERF stands for Canine Eye Registration Foundation. All of my dogs have had their eyes checked and cleared with CERF throughout the years. Only an ophthalmologist vet can do it. This place had someone answer the phone who not only didn't know what I was talking about, but was also fairly dismissive and rude to me when I enquired about it. I don't understand how a vet trained in ophthalmology wouldn't have his office be aware of a national registration for dog's eyes??? oh, I investigated and it turns out that this guy is not even board certified as an ophthalmologist! My lab's ulcer was healed so well I asked my vet why anyone would question this eye specialist. He was great and did an excellent job. My vet told me "Board Certification" is misunderstood by most people --he said these actual boards only allow an eye specialist to do what he called a 'cerf exam' where breeders take litters to be approved for sale. Not all specialists want to do this. Dr. Silverman treats every eye condition, as do all eye specialists, from cataracts to glaucoma to vitreoretinal surgery. He is considered one of the best, having practiced since 1999. I was sent here on my vet's strong recommendation. My vet has taken his own dog here for surgery -- he feels it is wrong to not go here due to "Board Certification". My vet refers his patients with eye problems to Dr. Silverman who is Board Certified with the ABVP in Canine and Feline Practice as well as being fully trained in a complete residency in Veterinarian Ophthalmology with a top animal eye specialist in W.L.A. I got in easily and was impressed with how nice everyone was. Since I have no plans to breed my lab, I don't care if her puppies are stamped 'okay for sale'. Dr. Silverman made me laugh and spent a lot of time with me. That was a lot more important. : ) Read Less

My Pug was referred here by my vet in L.A. Dr. Silverman is the kind of eye specialist who does not like to rush into surgery if he can treat with medicine. Wow - sums it up.  Before I explain let me just say that after getting very many consultations for my dog's eye, Dr Silverman was by far the most patient, sympathetic, and took the time to fully explain processes and answer questions with compassion and without the slightest edge of aggravation. He is an amazing and kind doctor. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs excellent and gentle care for their dog. My little girl had a sudden issue with glaucoma. Her left eye became blind and clouded and started bulging.  She was clearly in pain.  Many said it was an "angry" eye and to take it out and sew it shut. Dr Silverman said while that was an option it was also an option to get a prosthetic and scoop out her eye.  Other doctors feared more complications because her eye was so dry but dr Silverman's review of her showed that while it was dry that was likely due to the disease as the other eye was fine.  Also with the glaucoma gone the issues would be eliminated.  Knowing all the risks I went with a prosthetic which was a surgery of nearly equal cost and recovery.  It was such a good decision.  A 7 week recovery and my little girl is looking and feeling great. The same dog who was sleeping and hiding and burying her head in my arms is now running around again and wagging her tail.  Also, her nose had been warm and dry while her eye wasn't good.  She now has a cold wet nose again!  I don't know if I can post photos here but I will update this review when I figure it out. This doctor is one of a kind. Don't make a decision like this without consulting with him first. Read Less

This place was horrible! I took my cat for an exam since my regular vet could not figure out exactly what was going on. After waiting half an hour to speak to someone, an assistant ushered me into the back area where there was a dirty storage closet open and bulging with random tech equipment. He had me take out my cat and put him on a floor scale in the middle of the hallway instead of in a private room where he could be contained. Then the tech ushered me into a room that was completely disgusting. There was a dirty towel on the exam table that i presume was where i would put my cat, and a bunch of dirty scissors and tools laid out on the back counter. I immediately walked out and took my cat home. Upon my return to pick up my medical records Dr. Silverman grew irate and called the cops to kick me out of his office. My cat's medical records are my property and i didn't wish to entrust them with a doctor i would not be using. My statement infuriated Dr. SIlverman to the point that he yelled at me and tried to have me removed from the premises. I would think twice before you entrust the care of your animal with Dr. SIlverman. His attitude and poorly maintained facility is cause for concern. Read Less

I took my cat here on my own since his routine vets didn't seem to know what was wrong. The place itself was average, could use updating - seemed old. More importantly, Dr Silverman was rude. He entered and started evaluating my cat. When I began telling him the issue... He cut me off. I asked him "do you not want to hear my cats situation and history?" He replied... Oh... Go ahead. He did appear to have all the professional equipment and part of his exam showed up on the tv screen in the room but there was no communication as to what he was doing or why! I asked him (since my cat was being restricted in a towel by his assistant - who, by the way fell asleep while holding my cat!!!! He (the assistant) was a nice man but his head started nodding then the snoring starred and Dr Silverman didn't say a thing, like he didn't notice or care). I asked Dr Silverman... "Can you please tell me what you are doing with my cat?" He said "oh sorry, than began explaining". It was happening so fast (eye drops, then things in his eyes then this and that.., ) tell me! Explain what's going on!!! Then I was sent out to wait for "20 minutes"  for the dilation. Anyway... He did figure out the problem, and he gave me a price list for the repair right then and there. Basically, I did not like his bedside manner. He seemed uncaring and rude. So... I paid my consult fees and decided to go elsewhere (pay the new consult fees at the new place) but wanted the best care for my cat. It wasn't at this place. Read Less

I was referred to Dr. Silverman by my very very honest Vet. So I didn't think twice nor check the reviews before going in. Boy, it was a mistake! All the negative reviews here are what I experienced at this business. I brought in my parent's senior dog who has loss his sight 2 months before the appointment and is suffering from an eye infection that didn't go away. To gave Dr. Silverman credits, he gave the dog a thorough exam. But after that, it is all about money.  He recommended a $3000 surgery.  It will be a procedure with a painful road to recovery if my 15 year-old-dog can even wake up from!   I asked for treatment options and he said do an eye culture(which they already took the sample) and we can target the bacteria and treat it aggressively. It all made sense at the time... But since it is my parents' pet and my parents are out of town. So I said I have to speak to my parents first.  I asked Dr. Silverman to write him prescriptions in the meantime. But I didn't fill it at the office.  I thought if we are doing the surgery, there is no point of getting him medications. The next day, I called the office and told them my family and I have decided to run the eye culture and try treating the infection first.  The receptionist told me they threw the sample away because I declined it yesterday. I asked if I can come in and they can collect the example, she said yes, but they will charge me for another doctor visit. WHAT????Dr. Silverman called me back and told me the same thing, that I have declined the eye culture so they didn't save it.  Even thought I told them the reason: it is my parents' dog and I need to run by them.  And then he said the sample would have been ruined because they are not newly collected and they have to take new sample....I was not happy. I shopped around and have it done by a different vet. The other vet told me he could treat the infection with common antibiotic first, and he believe running the eye culture make no difference. But I insisted to do it. So they went ahead and took a sample. Afterward, they informed me the culture needs a few days to grow and when I will expect to hear the results...So the culture need times to grow.... Dr. Silverman told me they threw away the sample because they need to collect new one - THAT IS BS!  That's just to get me back to spend more $$After this experience, I would not give them any more business and I did't go back to fill the medication at his office.  I ordered the med. online and after three requests from the online pharmacy, Dr. Silverman NEVER approved my order.I would not recommend any of my friends to go there. Dr. Silverman might be knowledgeable, but there is no ethic in the way he runs the business. Not an honest business establishment. Read Less

It definitely puts the client at ease to witness someone work so passionately. I felt Tiny Tim was in great hands the moment they met! The team helped to keep the cost down for me and avoid surgery. If you care ONE bit about your pet, PLEASE and I mean this PLEASE DO NOT step foot into this place. I can not even begin to describe what a horrible experience I had here and how rude and insensitive these people are to you (keep in mind I came to this place heart broken because I knew my dog was either going blind or had already lost his eye sight) and at such a sensitive time to have not only the staff be rude but "doctor/specialist" himself be so EXTREMELY rude, uncaring, insensitive person that is when I draw the line. I just got the nastiest vibes from this place, it makes me sick now to look back and remember that I took my poor baby here and had to leave him there for an entire day to do examinations before surgery "policy" and not to mention the exam before surgery itself cost me $1,500. These people are just business men trying to make as much money from each patient as they can, they DO NOT care about the animals. I did of course cancel my dogs surgery after seeing their treatment  or should I say lack of treatment, they did of course tell me that the $500 deposit I paid for the surgery they would be unable to refund which honestly as much as it sucked to lose so money on such careless people I was more relieved that my dog would not be in the hands of experts who actually care for the animals and WANT to help them!P.S.  1 star is not even bad enough of a rating for this place... Rude.I canceled my dogs surgery about 24 hours before surgery, could have been a bit sooner I don't recall. This man is a specialist and it was wrong for me to cancel so close to surgery. I paid for it though, they kept my $300 deposit.  I went to reschedule the other day and they said they did not want to see me because I canceled on them. As if the $300 punishment enough? Other places charge a fraction of what this place charges but I didn't want to regret going to someone else. The extremely high price gave me peace of mind.I asked if maybe the doctor could call me... "Sorry." I was very hurt and felt embarrassed. When I canceled on the phone it sounded like it was no big deal, I was told their policy was you have a month to schedule another appointment, I was just a few weeks. I asked if the receptionist could refer me to another specialist, she said she couldn't help me.The receptionist had a very snotty tone from the first second I spoke to her over the phone. During my appointment the doctor was condescending... It was like I was wasting his time. Sorry the $500 wasn't worth the 30 minutes and cancellation... This place left a terrible taste in my mouth and honestly, after reading other reviews, this place doesn't care too much about animals. Just a pretentious practice...

Silverman.

Read Less

Good luck! Read Less

Read Less

Dr. Silverman treated my rhodesian ridgeback, Isis, and my rottweiler, Bettie  for many years.  Isis was gradually growing blind because she had cataracts caused by diabetes. I would routinely take her for check-ups and found Dr. Silverman to be honest, professional and extremely knowledgeable. He was always very gentle when examining Isis, and she, in turn, always let him do anything to her. Dr. Silverman is my veterinary opthamologist of choice. Read Less

Totally pleased with my Belgian Malinois puppy's eye exam. In her younger months she got a dreaded Foxtail in her eye. For assurance that her eyesight was unaffected, I had Dr. Silverman do an evaluation. He was knowledgeable, professional and gave Chloe a thorough eye exam. Despite some minor scarring, he said no treatment would be necessary and sent us on our way. I am thankful for such a positive prognosis. Additionally, the staff was friendly and the office was clean. I would recommend Complete Animal Eye Care to others.

Read Less

I adopted the most loving and full filled Yorkie named Tiny Tim. He has brought so much joy to our lives. Sadly,  he began to develop a really bad eye discharge that became very alarming because I started to notice changes in his mood. He was wasn't as energetic anymore. Like any new mom :), I began to think the worse and go in panic mode. I wanted to find the best center that would take care of him immediately. Luckily, I had a neighbor that referred me to Dr. Silverman. The team at Complete Animal Eye Care Center was by my side the entire way. Dr. Silverman was very patient with my nervousness. It definitely puts the client at ease to witness someone work so passionately. I felt Tiny Tim was in great hands the moment they met! The team helped to keep the cost down for me and avoid surgery. Needless to say Tiny Tim's condition cleared up quickly and he is out running happily again :). Words can not express how grateful I am for Dr. Silverman and his team. Thank you!! Read Less

While visiting family in Los Angeles, I found that my mom's cat had developed an eye infection. After several days it seemed worse and I realized that we needed an eye specialist. But it was Sunday and I had a flight out that evening. I did some research and found Complete Animal Eyecare Center.  I called on the emergency line and I was directly connected with Dr. Silverman. He met us at the hospital within the hour and treated our cat immediately.  My mom reported that the cat took to the treatment and was fine in few days! She also received a follow up call and told me that Dr. Silverman had the most wonderful attitude. I am so grateful to have found him. We just love our little cat. Read Less

Don't go here expecting the same warm treatment you get from animal loving veterinarians. Read Less

I got the worst vibe from this place. I brought my dog in as I has a slight emergency and could not take her to another vet due to timing. My husband was out of town and I asked if we could call him in so he could hear what was going on, the vet did not want to do this. He acted like I was wasting his time. The vet also acted annoyed with all of my questions. I've been so scared and upset as my dog basically went blind over night, and just needed to know what was going on. The receptionists were also pretty unprofessional. This vet seems like he just wants to make money, he was much nicer to me after we discussed the idea of a 5k surgery. Don't go here, spend your time and money somewhere else. I can almost 100% guarantee this vet is in it for the money, not for the love of animals. Read Less
