VERY DISAPPOINTED. I've been coming to Signal Hill Pet Hospital for many, many years. Today's experience may very well change where I take my pets for Veterinary Care.
It's not any fault of Dr. Boctor, (who is amazing) but the front staff.
My senior Boxer, Daisy had surgery today and they said that she would be available to pick up at 3. I arrived at 3 but had misplaced the card that I wanted to pay on (I had left it the pocket of my jacket from when I took her in to be seen two weeks ago). I offered to leave an alternate credit card number as security and then I could call and pay them with the correct card as soon as I got home (they didn't have Samsung or Apple pay). The front staff said, "No, we can't do that for you, you need to go get the card." So, I drove from Signal Hill straight to Manhattan Beach and back only to find that they had closed upon my return. So now my senior dog that just had surgery for the removal of three tumors is going to stay in a cage all night (15 hours with no supervision or care).
Thanks for the care and compassion shown to my pet and I. It truly shows how much you appreciate and value your customers and their pets.

I said I'd make a review whether it ended good or bad for me. At the end of December my cat I had that went through elementary, junior high, high school, college, marriage, and my first baby randomly fell sick. I brought her to signal hill hospital as soon as I could (it was new year weekend so no doctors were in). The doctor was very honest with me and told me she didn't think my Oreo would make it. She could have tried to get a ton of money out of me for lifesaving treatment, but she was honest not money hungry. I couldn't be more thankful, the vet even stayed during her lunch break so I could have more time with my cat before we put her down, the staff was extremely understanding and they even waived the 100$ fee for being in the room with her when she went. It was extremely difficult to watch her go but I'm so thankful for how signal hill handled the circumstances.

At 3:45 pm today Saturday January 6th I was parking my car right in front of the entrance to this place and when this fat nurse who was inside the hospital saw me coming down from my car with my little dog , she locked the door and with an smile turn the "open" sign off. Another lady costumer who was arriving at the same time, knocked on their door and they didnt even came to the door !!!!! They were only watching us througth the glass.

This vet cares nothing about the animals. She charged me 300$ & when I got home I started thinking, like why would she take my dog into a different exam room when we were already in one. So I decided to call and ask my dogs weight and body temp, just as I expected she could not provide this information to me. To me taking my dog to the vet is the same as taking my child. I want someone who cares about the life of my loved one!!! She was aggressive, rude, bullied her staff & me. She is totally in this line of work for the money & I feel she'd rather eat my dog than make sure he's healthy. I reported this to the BBB, she ignored them and never responded although that is a mark against her business & will always remain on public records.

Dr. Ragi Boctor :-( i just had the worst experience with Dr. Ragi Boctor at the Signal Hill Animal hospital. I usually see Dr. Attalla.. She is great and informative, but she was not in when I arrived, I should've insisted on waiting for her. The staff at Signal Hill AH, is awesome. But, I saw Dr. Ragi Boctor. I brought my small dog in for a simple ear infection, in which he had 3 times in the past 13 years. The infection has always been treated in the past by cleaning the infected area and then antibiotics, I no the whole routine. That's why it was alarming that Dr. Ragi Boctor, after seeing my pup for 3 minutes told me my dog had allergies, he said his skin was irritated. I explained to Dr. Ragi Boctor that the skin irritation was the result of an eye medication ointment (Terramycin) side-effect. ( I was in Utah with my dog, and I had to take my dog to a vet. The Terramycin medication help, but the vet told me if my pup developed any of the side effects to discontinue and call him). My dog developed a bad rash, constantly scratching and I discontinued the medication, in which the rash started to clear up immediately. I told Dr. Ragi Boctor this. Dr. Ragi Boctor told me that the treatment for my dog was going to be over $300.00 for a vigorous allergy treatment that would include cortisone shots. I payed for the ear cleaning and left the office with my dogs vaccination history, and I'm on my way to my former veterinarian in Los Angeles.

I've been here 3 times prior to this review and a personal friend of mine took his dog here before and had recommended me to go to this vet. First I would say pricing is okay on vaccinations. I thought it was reasonable because my puppy was going to need it regardless. My first visit they basically put me in their system. So it was a little process, filling out papers such as what dog I have, age, sex and etc. but from there on it was pretty fast which is great. Second visit it was literally in and out. Third visit looked like it was busy hence all the people in the waiting room but it was actually still was a short wait. The employees there are also great. Always informed when to come back but now that my puppy is good for the year I'll be back next year or for a emergency. Ps: writing a review would get you $15 credit for next visit which is awesome!

The girl who tried to explain this bill of charges to us was rude and did a poor job at explaining what the medications were for. 2 stars for poor customer service, prescribing too much of the same thing and for being over priced.

The doctor was rude, she had paint all over her hands, she rushed out and I couldn't ask any questions, she barely examined him (probably due to her needing to get back to painting.) She pulled back one ear and with disgust was like yes he has and ear infection, no duh I told you that. They are crooks for sure, save your time, money and find a place that will really care for your pet and make it worth what you pay. The receptionist who checked me in was very nice but that was all.

Unfortunately, my doggy had an ear infection and I paid around 260 to have it cleaned out, antibiotics and something that will "prevent an ear infection for a month" After a couple weeks the infection seemed to be clearing out but there was still some brown stuff not in one ear, but both ears! Now she has an ear infection in both ears! I was called for a follow up because it was "complimentary" but i know damn well I'm going to have to pay another ridiculous amount to clean out both ears and for antibiotics! Yes i agree with other reviews , it's a scam!!! VERY DISSATISFIED. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!!!!

My boyfriend took my 13 year old ESA dog to get her nails clipped and vaccines back in October. they cut one of her nails so deep that she bled, I understand sometimes that happens but they didn't let us know of the incident. when my dog got home she was walking around and started bleeding. Luckily we knew how to handle that. Today my dog had to be taken back to the vet's office because the night before she was lethargic, loss of appetite and not herself. Due to work, I was unable to be present while she was being examined. when i got home, I was informed that my dog had to have a $674 Xray, the "doctors/vet"and technician gave my boyfriend some vague explanation and tried to gauge more money out of us before giving us any answers. the only thing they could say is "wait until Tuesday when our specialist is here" my poor dog is unresponsive, in pain, cannot move and these horrible humans just sent her back home. she is now taking what seems to be her last breath... what type of human being, let alone a person who chooses to be a veterinarian, sends a sick animal back home without a temporary solution, without pain meds or without the suggestion of maybe having to put the dog down because she's obviously in pain and ill and might not make it until Tuesday. I hope these people get attacked by a pack of rabid racoons. when I called for an explanation the person who answered was useless, the doctors had already left but left no notes behind..? I spent almost $700 for some vague answer. I feel scammed and now I'm at home watching my poor girl take her last breath. thanks Signal Pet Hospital.

I can get that at the humanesociety for $55.00....They were no help in helping my cat get better.Just took a blood test and urine test and wanted $750 just to flush her kidneys.She's 16 years old.No medicine the night before.Nothing.AWFUL...Don't recommend.Money hungry and they pissed my cat off when I was given it back from the blood test..Too rough with her...No medicine...3rd world STAFF.I have been to better places.Really..this hospital sucks.Giving away$15.00 for a google review for next visit ? We brought our dog to be neutered and it was an excellent experience overall. The staff was very professional and the prices were straight forward. I thought it was pretty cool that they called prior to starting his surgery and then again when he was done. They even called the next day to see how he was doing. This is our dogs new animal care facility.

This vet cares nothing about the animals. She charged me 300$ & when I got home I started thinking, like why would she take my dog into a different exam room when we were already in one. So I decided to call and ask my dogs weight and body temp, just as I expected she could not provide this information to me. To me taking my dog to the vet is the same as taking my child. I want someone who cares about the life of my loved one!!! She was aggressive, rude, bullied her staff & me. She is totally in this line of work for the money & I feel she'd rather eat my dog than make sure he's healthy. I reported this to the BBB, she ignored them and never responded although that is a mark against her business & will always remain on public records.

Dr. Ragi Boctor :-( i just had the worst experience with Dr. Ragi Boctor at the Signal Hill Animal hospital. I usually see Dr. Attalla.. She is great and informative, but she was not in when I arrived, I should've insisted on waiting for her. The staff at Signal Hill AH, is awesome. But, I saw Dr. Ragi Boctor. I brought my small dog in for a simple ear infection, in which he had 3 times in the past 13 years. The infection has always been treated in the past by cleaning the infected area and then antibiotics, I no the whole routine. That's why it was alarming that Dr. Ragi Boctor, after seeing my pup for 3 minutes told me my dog had allergies, he said his skin was irritated. I explained to Dr. Ragi Boctor that the skin irritation was the result of an eye medication ointment (Terramycin) side-effect. ( I was in Utah with my dog, and I had to take my dog to a vet. The Terramycin medication help, but the vet told me if my pup developed any of the side effects to discontinue and call him). My dog developed a bad rash, constantly scratching and I discontinued the medication, in which the rash started to clear up immediately. I told Dr. Ragi Boctor this. Dr. Ragi Boctor told me that the treatment for my dog was going to be over $300.00 for a vigorous allergy treatment that would include cortisone shots. I payed for the ear cleaning and left the office with my dogs vaccination history, and I'm on my way to my former veterinarian in Los Angeles.

I've been here 3 times prior to this review and a personal friend of mine took his dog here before and had recommended me to go to this vet. First I would say pricing is okay on vaccinations. I thought it was reasonable because my puppy was going to need it regardless. My first visit they basically put me in their system. So it was a little process, filling out papers such as what dog I have, age, sex and etc. but from there on it was pretty fast which is great. Second visit it was literally in and out. Third visit looked like it was busy hence all the people in the waiting room but it was actually still was a short wait. The employees there are also great. Always informed when to come back but now that my puppy is good for the year I'll be back next year or for a emergency. Ps: writing a review would get you $15 credit for next visit which is awesome!

I was so happy to find Signal Hill Pet Hospital for my new kitten Missy. I was able to walk-in with no appointment. The staff was very friendly even at 7:30am and the doctor did not order services that were not needed. I would recommend this vet to anyone looking for a place for their animal care.

The girl who tried to explain this bill of charges to us was rude and did a poor job at explaining what the medications were for. 2 stars for poor customer service, prescribing too much of the same thing and for being over priced.

The doctor was rude, she had paint all over her hands, she rushed out and I couldn't ask any questions, she barely examined him (probably due to her needing to get back to painting.) She pulled back one ear and with disgust was like yes he has and ear infection, no duh I told you that. They are crooks for sure, save your time, money and find a place that will really care for your pet and make it worth what you pay. The receptionist who checked me in was very nice but that was all.

I was very satisfied with my doggy getting spayed here so I decided to keep coming as I was satisfied with the service! Unfortunately, my doggy had an ear infection and I paid around 260 to have it cleaned out, antibiotics and something that will "prevent an ear infection for a month" After a couple weeks the infection seemed to be clearing out but there was still some brown stuff not in one ear, but both ears! Now she has an ear infection in both ears! I was called for a follow up because it was "complimentary" but i know damn well I'm going to have to pay another ridiculous amount to clean out both ears and for antibiotics! Yes i agree with other reviews , it's a scam!!! VERY DISSATISFIED. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!!!!

this place is a SCAM! These people are not proffesional! most horrible experience. My boyfriend took my 13 year old ESA dog to get her nails clipped and vaccines back in October. they cut one of her nails so deep that she bled, I understand sometimes that happens but they didn't let us know of the incident. when my dog got home she was walking around and started bleeding. Luckily we knew how to handle that. Today my dog had to be taken back to the vet's office because the night before she was lethargic, loss of appetite and not herself. Due to work, I was unable to be present while she was being examined. when i got home, I was informed that my dog had to have a $674 Xray, the "doctors/vet"and technician gave my boyfriend some vague explanation and tried to gauge more money out of us before giving us any answers. the only thing they could say is "wait until Tuesday when our specialist is here" my poor dog is unresponsive, in pain, cannot move and these horrible humans just sent her back home. she is now taking what seems to be her last breath... what type of human being, let alone a person who chooses to be a veterinarian, sends a sick animal back home without a temporary solution, without pain meds or without the suggestion of maybe having to put the dog down because she's obviously in pain and ill and might not make it until Tuesday. I hope these people get attacked by a pack of rabid racoons. when I called for an explanation the person who answered was useless, the doctors had already left but left no notes behind..? I spent almost $700 for some vague answer. I feel scammed and now I'm at home watching my poor girl take her last breath. thanks Signal Pet Hospital.

I can get that at the humanesociety for $55.00....They were no help in helping my cat get better.Just took a blood test and urine test and wanted $750 just to flush her kidneys.She's 16 years old.No medicine the night before.Nothing.AWFUL...Don't recommend.Money hungry and they pissed my cat off when I was given it back from the blood test..Too rough with her...No medicine...3rd world STAFF.I have been to better places.Really..this hospital sucks.Giving away$15.00 for a google review for next visit ? Great experience! After reading the reviews we were on the fence regarding whether to bring our dog here or not. So glad we did! We brought our dog to be neutered and it was an excellent experience overall. The staff was very professional and the prices were straight forward. I thought it was pretty cool that they called prior to starting his surgery and then again when he was done. They even called the next day to see how he was doing. This is our dogs new animal care facility.
