I'm so thankful for this Clinic on one hand. They were professional, have their system down to a science. We're very helpful with the getting my dog in, helping with getting the costs down, very kind & considerate on the phone. Glad there is low cost spay & neuter. BUT... my little dogs incision looks like a botched up mess. Not clean, not smooth, all clumped up & purple. I'm so sad. Danielle Lasley, DVM is the name of who did the surgery. If you choose this clinic, best to make sure it's not Danielle Lasley, DVM is my advice. There are more positive comments about this place than negative. I wish more people who had a problem posted the vet's name. So we can compare if it's the same vet doing the botches. Read Less

I took my almost full grown German Shepherd to their mobile clinic to be neutered. He's a bit of a problem dog, extremely nervous which can lead to (false) shows of aggression. Their techs were on it and fully sedated him while he was being held by me and then gently carried him into the truck. A very stressful situation for him was made as easy as possible by their great staff. He's home now and recovering; I don't expect to have any problems. They are the most helpful, caring, hard working and thorough staff you could ever want your pet to be in the hands of! The fact they also take feral cats, dogs and rabbits from other nearby counties, in addition to serving their own area makes them outstanding and separates them from everyone else out there! They go above and beyond to provide the best service, often for free, and are so patient despite the overwhelming volume of animals they deal with on a daily basis. Many thanks for all their help and efforts they have provided multiple times for me and my cats, and all the other ferals I've brought to them!!!:) Read Less

We took our two 5 month old boxer puppies here to get spayed and neutered and everything was pretty much smooth sailing. The staff was friendly and the venue seemed clean and up to standard. We did have some doubts wether this would be a proper place to take our puppies, but don't let the price scare you away. We dropped off the puppies at 8.30 am and picked them up again at 1 pm and despite having had surgery they seemed like their usual loving caring self. They definitely did not seem scared or traumatized by the experience. It's been 2 weeks since and they have both healed up really nicely. There were barely any discomfort or inflammation during the healing process and their appetite has been healthy as usual. This procedure would have been $1000 for both puppies at a regular Vet, so we saved 80% by coming here. We would definitely recommend this place to our friends and family. Read Less

I took my four year old German Shepherd Sammy to the Simi Valley Non-Profit Clinic a few weeks ago to get spayed.  I read the positive reviews on Yelp and decided to give them a call and schedule an appointment.  As stated in previous posts, the people at this clinic are very busy and may not be able to answer the phone directly ( I saw how busy they are when I was there) but they do return your phone call usually within 24 hours.  I called and left a message and received a return call the following day.  The lady I spoke with was pleasant and able to answer all of my questions without making me feel rushed.  I made an appointment for a few weeks in advance for a Thursday drop-off.  I was given good instructions on no food or water after 10 PM on the night before the procedure.I dropped Sammy off at 8AM on Thursday and was greeted by friendly staff who once again told me what to expect.  I had a good feeling that these people would take good care of Sammy.  I was instructed to return after 130 PM to pick up Sammy.  i returned later in the afternoon and was given detailed instructions for post-procedure care for Sammy and told to call if I had any further questions or concerns.  The procedure went perfectly and Sammy was a bit groggy when I picked her up and was her usual self within three days.I can't say enough about how professional, knowledgeable and friendly the staff here are.  They really make sure you are totally informed and feel comfortable.  They also told me that I can bring Sammy back, with an appointment, to receive vaccine shots.  I will be back for sure! Found out about this place after I was given a quote of $400+ from my vet for a spay. It was too much for me to give out of my pocket so I searched for a better option. This place charged me $60 for the spay, I also added a micro chip and a rabies shot and paid a total of $110. I went to drop my puppy off at 8:30, and was very stressed and anxious. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and friendly, the answered all my questions and made me feel like she is in good hands. I was told that pick up time is 1pm, but I went at 12 and she was ready to come home! Surgery went well, the incision was small and stitching was great. Not even three days later and my puppy was full of energy and feeling great. Its been a week now and the wound is almost fully healed and barely noticeable. I want to thank this place for doing such a great job, from front desk service to vet work, it was all a great experience at such a reasonable price! I highly recommend taking your furry babies there, they will be in good hands! Read Less

First of all it is hard to sometimes get a hold of the office so please leave a message, they will return your call.  They are a small office and are very busy caring for the animals.  Its best to plan ahead as they do book a few weeks to a month in advance.  I was a little hesitant at first but from pricing around the going rate to spay your pet is around $400 -$700 depending on where you go and weight.  The $75 (with medication) for my 11 pound maltipoo seemed a great price and after reading all the reviews and speaking with the office I booked my appointment. The receptionist was very nice and I was confident when I left my dog for her procedure around 8:30am (drop-off is 8am-8:30am).  When I picked up about 1:30pm (they close at 2:30pm) the receptionist gave me specific release instructions with numbers to call and specific aftercare instructions.  One thing that I was so surprised was that my dog wasn't shaking and her incision site was so small and no visible stitches.  She was shaved nicely.  I could see the care that was given to my dog and her being so calm assured me how well they cared for my little girl.  I was so thankful I tipped them and my daughter was able to put our dog's name on a little heart for each $5 donation we made towards another dog or cat being spayed that might not be able to afford the cost. They also give affordable vaccinations in addition to microchipping for $15!They are a small nonprofit organization doing great things for many cats and dogs.  Please consider donating if you can!  Highly recommend! Our dog passed away after getting her spayed at this clinic. A day after we took her in we noticed she was still very weak. We called the after hours and emergency numbers, after many attempts, we finally spoke to someone about our concerns. She said it was normal, to call back if things got worst. We called back and could never reach anyone. After 3-4 days of seeing our dog not eat enough and seem very sad we took her in to our closest vet. There he told us she had an infection and needed another surgery to clean her wounds. She didn't make it. I'm upset we weren't taking seriously the first time we called. I'm upset we weren't told there was a possibility she would be allergic to whatever was put inside of her. Of any possible side effect. I'm upset they werent easy to reach, only after I left 3 messages saying our dog passed away did I receive calls back. Most of all I'm very UPSET at the fact that I was called back and blamed for not taking her to a close vet sooner. I was blamed for my dog passing away. Very unprofessional.Read Less

I make close to a 2 hour drive to this clinic at least once a month (and usually more often) to get rescued cats spayed/neutered. I've have been able to get over 1,000 cats and a few dogs done at this clinic, and their mobile clinic. Elizabeth has demonstrated the patience of a saint with helping me get all of them scheduled. So I'll be the first one to write a review on bunny fixing! I took my female and male buns here two weeks ago to be fixed. And I will say I was very hesitant at first because bunny fixing can be a very delicate surgery, especially for females. I asked the clinic about the statistics regarding their bunny fixing. And they told me on average they do about 20-30 bunnies a month. And that they have never lost a bunny due to the surgery. So I decided to go through with it. It cost $60 for my male and $80 for my female. I dropped them off in the morning then picked them back up early afternoon. They both were a little out of it but of course that's normal. My male was back to his regular self in about 3 days but my female took about a full week. Now it's been about 2 weeks since their surgery and they both are running and hopping around completely normal. I think the clinic did a really good job and took good care of them! Read Less

Great facililty - we neutered our Shih Tzu here. $100 got us one castration and one microchip, plus $15 for the Elizabethan collar. Professional, friendly, courteous, confirmation phone calls, explanations galore - and the dog is totally fine, recovering at home now. This is not a complicated procedure but still demands a licensed veterinarian. Several people in line, small reception where you leave the dog, but he comes out without nuts as planned. Why pay exorbitantly when you don't have to? Plus the money goes to a good cause - keeping the unwanted small animal population at bay. Highly recommended. Read Less

I have met the staff over the last few years and have been visibly impressed. There are very few nonprofit organizations, businesses or corporations (nonprofit or for profit) that I trust or feel safe with. The Spay and Neuter Clinic is one organization that I trust explicitly. Their front desk staff, Elizabeth, is very efficient, friendly and kind. She is also great about returning phone call messages. Their veterinary staff and veterinarians are highly professional, qualified and well trained in various types of veterinary medical cases which is extremely reassuring. They spay or neuter both felines as well as dogs. There are many veterinary offices that could learn from The Spay and Neuter Clinic on how to run a compassionate and skilled healthcare facility which not only benefits (& saves) the members of our family but helps with the prosperity and welfare of the surrounding community as well.

Read Less

Professional, friendly, courteous, confirmation phone calls, explanations galore - and the dog is totally fine, recovering at home now. This is not a complicated procedure but still demands a licensed veterinarian. Several people in line, small reception where you leave the dog, but he comes out without nuts as planned. Their veterinary staff and veterinarians are highly professional, qualified and well trained in various types of veterinary medical cases which is extremely reassuring.
