Dr. Mike and the HGAE staff tried their utmost to save one of my horses from dreaded colic, but even after surgery and their watchful care it wasn't meant to be. While I was still grieving, my other horse colicked. I'm usually good when my animals are sick, but this time I practically begged them to save my boy. One horse passing early is too much. Two would have been utterly unbearable.Well, the dark clouds have a silver lining, because we're now 1 month post-surgery for my second boy, and he's doing splendidly. The team at HGAE and their 24-hour care for my horse are the reasons that he's still alive. All of the odds were stacked against him, but they really listened to my comments on his personality and behavior when it mattered the most, and they were willing to try new and innovative treatment and monitoring options to help him through. I will be forever grateful to them for their efforts to save my Phoenix, and for their heroic work in saving Vash. I really, really cannot recommend them enough if you and your horse are in a tough situation. Read Less

Over priced vet for shipping frozen semen. Charge entirely too much to ship. And they stated the stallion that I got was 80-85% on fresh when my vet got it the next day it was only 55%! Not sure why the big difference. But the stallion for sure was not 80-85% motility! Read Less

First-class organization. I feel blessed to have this facility so local & available to me! I have complete confidence in Dr. Richard, Dr. Mike, Dr. Hannah & their staff. I was also sad to see the other Dr. Mike (Clark) relocate out of state! Dr. Richard is a reproductive genius -- if you're in the area, don't even consider any other vet. He has gotten so many difficult or older mares in foal when once thought impossible. My mare took first cycle with fresh last year-- at 18 and having been open for 5 years. That was in the field; this year, on her first normal cycle post foaling, she took first cycle with one dose of FROZEN semen at the clinic. Dr. Richard ultrasounds round the clock when dealing with frozen and inseminates with one dose post ovulation. In my case, she was bred literally minutes after ovulation, and I know another mare who he was ultrasounding every HALF HOUR! It's a big deal to say my 19 year old mare took first cycle with frozen her first time ever using frozen. Dr. Richard takes great pride in his work and remembers each mare, too. I could not be happier with this clinic. Dr. Richard, Dr. Clark and Dr. Klasson are top notch and fabulous with breeding "tougher" mares. If they can't get the mare in foal, I'm not sure anyone can! My older mare got in foal first try with frozen this year. You don't hear that often! Their fees are reasonable as well. Read Less

Dr. Mike is an amazing vet! We just recently went because my 14 year old gelding was having trouble urinating. After they ruled out the worst possible scenario and all of his lab test came back normal we made an appointment to bring him back for more testing.  Instead, Dr. Mike gave us a call and told us he didn't think we needed to come back and spent 30 minutes on the phone explaining all the possibilities.  He saved us money and saved our horse from having to go through a traumatic and painful procedure. Dr. Richard Giacopuzzi and his team handled the breeding and foaling out of my mare with competence, dedication, and friendliness. The mare had postpartum complications which I might not have caught on time had she foaled out at home, and they were on it immediately, gave her thorough care, and she recovered. My 4 year old filly had an emergency impaction/colic. The Dr. and his assistant were comforting to both me and my horse in a very stressful time. They were upfront about my options/scenerios and related costs and did their very best to keep it affordable for me while providing superb medical care to my filly.
