Have taken both my dogs and had a friend take her new puppy after my visit. The staff are very informative and treat you and your pet with compassion and gentle care. My dog gets very worked up and so scared. At my other vet they would take him in the back without me to administer shot and I would hear him howl and yep he was so traumatized and without me by his side. When I asked if I could stay with him or they do the shots in the room with me they said it's against state law. At Humane Vet I asked if I can be present when any shot are administered they graciously accommodated me and my frightened dog. The vet tech said she didn't know if any laws barring owners from being present during any part of the vet exam except surgery. She consulted the vet and he verified there isn't any such laws. He got his shots with me at his side and this time without any frantic barking or yelping. It always traumatized me to know that the yearly Vet visit would put him through this without me with him. I no longer will go to any other Vet and recommend them to everyone. The next best thing is that the whole visit, shots and exam/consultation, cost a total of $30 and my last visit to my last get was $180 for the same shots and exam/consultation. Price and customer care are excellent making this the Best Vet Hospital in San Diego County.

There's a major lack of communication in this office (and hidden fees)!! When getting your preliminary invoice they WILL NOT mention that post-op follow-up appointments are NOT INCLUDED in your quote. Also, watch out for the Dr Brooks! He leaves zero notes for discharge techs. I went to pick up my dog and when I asked how her surgery went the tech had no clue!! He didn't even assist!! My dog came home with an IV still in her arm!! And we were NOT GIVEN needed medication (which should have been included in the discharge notes)!!! I'll make the drive to take my pets to a place with integrity and no hidden fees.

I got very anxious and sick while the nurse was giving my cat shots & something for my cats dehydration. They explained everything in detail to me. Very reasonabled priced.

I took my cat Max for IV with vitamins, they keep him for 5 hrs, when I took him home Max was unresponsive and can move any morewe spend the night with him to see if he reacted but at 4:30am he started to make noise and was worse my family and I decided to take him to another vet and put him to sleep. I will NEVER recommend this vet hospital to anyone.

So to our surprise the vet asst says the vet doctor messed up and we have to return for a 5 min job. Well thanks to the vet hospital for screwing up our vacation plans.

Came to humane vet for my cats tooth cleaning& extractions. Humane did it all for only $50 more than what chain vet wanted. I love my cats and want to be able to afford the care they need. this place does it. when it was time for my 17 yr cat to cross the rainbow, staff was so kind. And they used san diego pet memorial park who delivered my "buddys'" cremains in beautiful cedar box keepsake to the vet for pick up. 15 years ago when my Emily crossed the rainbow bridge, I had to drive long way to pick he up in a white cardboard box. can say enough good things about this vet

They are great in so many ways. The guy who answers is rude, but the girls are nice. They took good care of my dog in the worst time. Jes is great!! But, be prepared to sit in a small, hot room for 45...
They are great in so many ways. The guy who answers is rude, but the girls are nice. They took good care of my dog in the worst time. Jes is great!! But, be prepared to sit in a small, hot room for 45 minutes just to get an invoice or estimate. There computer system must be VERY slow.
If you have to have your pet euthanized (God forbid), do NOT take them here. Even if you call in advance, they make you sit in the lobby for nearly a half hour. And when they finally allow you to go into a room, they make you wait 40 minutes for the invoice and pay for it. All the while, your pet is getting stressed, as are you. The rest gets even gets longer. There is no consideration of your feelings. I've worked in the veterinary field for years and I will tell you, this is completely abnormal. Vet hospitals usually have more consideration for people and pets going through this situation.

The doctors are friendly...and the prices are ok. I guess it makes up for the horrible front desk experience

This rescued kitten had a very gentle temperament until he was treated by: Dr. Jessica Lynch (never met this person), and the "technicians". What could you have done to him? I know he was pre- medicated at 1PM so he spent 6 hours in a cage with no water/food. Of course that is in addition to the 10 hours I kept him NPO, prior to his surgery. Let's add here how instead of just calling the"contact" person, your staff called interrupting work hours, all 3 messages were different pick up times, different messages. Then your discharge tech brings the kitten out, and doesn't even know where our carrier is and proceeds to become argumentative about the an additional 10 dollar charge. I finally had to ask her to just stop talking. At that point I world have paid her personally 20 dollars to get us out of that maloderous room ASAP. Not a good experience for the humans. I wish the kitten could tell us what happened to him.

Never going back... Emma (my blue nose pit) had an ear infection, the "Dr" didn't even look in her ear till I asked him to look, I also asked for some water for Emma he said yes but never came, only one thing nice was this amazing nurse she was kind and had pit bulls of here own..

Very good prices for spaying our dog but the vet doctor seriously needs to read the paperwork. We specifically requested disolvable stitches but they royally screwed up and gave her regular stitches. So to our surprise the vet asst says the vet doctor messed up and we have to return for a 5 min job. Well thanks to the vet hospital for screwing up our vacation plans.

Came to humane vet for my cats tooth cleaning& extractions. Humane did it all for only $50 more than what chain vet wanted. I love my cats and want to be able to afford the care they need. this place does it. when it was time for my 17 yr cat to cross the rainbow, staff was so kind. And they used san diego pet memorial park who delivered my "buddys'" cremains in beautiful cedar box keepsake to the vet for pick up. 15 years ago when my Emily crossed the rainbow bridge, I had to drive long way to pick he up in a white cardboard box. can say enough good things about this vet

They are great in so many ways. The guy who answers is rude, but the girls are nice. They took good care of my dog in the worst time. Jes is great!! But, be prepared to sit in a small, hot room for 45 minutes just to get an invoice or estimate. There computer system must be VERY slow.
If you have to have your pet euthanized (God forbid), do NOT take them here. Even if you call in advance, they make you sit in the lobby for nearly a half hour. And when they finally allow you to go into a room, they make you wait 40 minutes for the invoice and pay for it. All the while, your pet is getting stressed, as are you. The rest gets even gets longer. There is no consideration of your feelings. I've worked in the veterinary field for years and I will tell you, this is completely abnormal. Vet hospitals usually have more consideration for people and pets going through this situation.

Also they closed at six this particular day and no one bothered to tell me that either when I called in. Communication and front desk friendliness is lacking here. The doctors are friendly...and the prices are ok. I guess it makes up for the horrible front desk experience

This rescued kitten had a very gentle temperament until he was treated by: Dr. Jessica Lynch (never met this person), and the "technicians". What could you have done to him? I know he was pre- medicated at 1PM so he spent 6 hours in a cage with no water/food. Of course that is in addition to the 10 hours I kept him NPO, prior to his surgery. Let's add here how instead of just calling the"contact" person, your staff called interrupting work hours, all 3 messages were different pick up times, different messages. Then your discharge tech brings the kitten out, and doesn't even know where our carrier is and proceeds to become argumentative about the an additional 10 dollar charge. I finally had to ask her to just stop talking. At that point I world have paid her personally 20 dollars to get us out of that maloderous room ASAP. Not a good experience for the humans. I wish the kitten could tell us what happened to him.
