I regretfully took my cat here to have surgery. She passed all pre-op tests and was cleared for surgery. I received a call later in the day from the vet who said she was in recovery, resting and doing fine but they wanted to keep her overnight to monitor her. A huge sigh of relief came over me. Less than 30 mins later the vet called back to say she had gone into cardiac arrest and died. I was heartbroken. When questioned, they could not tell me anything else. They said it was a "fluke" and they were sorry. Shady, untrustworthy and very rude. Do not take your pet to this vet! Read Less

I truly wish I had been referred to this wonderful Vet office sooner. My black lab was only seen a few times in his last months of his life, but these experiences with Dr Ahedo and Dr Olin and staff, that they are the best in the Central Valley. We have been through hell and back trying to get our Lab the best care possible- even if if was just a short time he was in their care it was caring, compassionate, professional and truly centered around the animal and owner, not the convenience of the Vet or staff. They truly accommodated our needs and made his last months comfortable. When the time came to make the hardest decision a pet owner must make they held the space for us to process and grieve. When the time is right and we have another beloved animal in our family they will be out Vet office of choice. *Amazing staff*Clean and sanitary facility*No outrageous fees Read Less

One of our cats was attacked by a dog and we needed to take her somewhere ASAP.  We don't have a regular vet for her so we took her to a well-known vet in the area who could've cared less since we weren't "regular patients".  I called Village Vet and they were more than willing to see our cat.  The front staff were friendly and informative of the price for an exam ahead of time.  The vet was awesome!!  He took a decent amount of time looking over our cat to make sure her injuries weren't life-threatening and he explained what she would need in terms of after-care.  Thankfully, she's okay.  We're so happy we discovered this vet hospital and we will be bringing all our cats here from now on. Worst vet I have ever met. I had an 8 week old Rottweiler who had been having severe diarrhea and vomiting since we brought her home. We did Parvo tests, blood tests, and stool samples at our local vet to try to figure out what was wrong with her. Everything came back negative. Until I noticed her eyes were developing a film on them. So my vet referred me to Dr. Olin. Drove from Oakdale to Stockton, with my puppy puking on the way there and I was by myself to deal with it all. When I got there, staff was friendly. But then I got in the room with Dr. Olin. He asked what was going on, I told him. He did two quick things with this tool to look at her eyes and said its normal and doesn't effect her vision. I asked if it had anything to do with her symptoms. He was quick to say no. Then left. I felt like he didn't care about my puppy at all. Just wanted us to be in and out and get paid. A week went by and I then was referred to a gastrointestinal specialist in Dublin to try to find something out. Drove out there, did some tests. She ended up being hospitalized that day. Got the results back and turns out she had Distemper and had to be put down the next day due to there being no cure. THE FILM ON HER EYES WAS A SYMPTOM OF DISTEMPER! She suffered an extra week, in who knows how much pain, because he was in such a rush to get us out of the office! Seems as though he just does this for the paycheck, at least that's how he makes you feel. I will never let anyone bring their pet to this place. This place and this doctor disgusts me... Read Less

Neither of these Dr's should be trusted with your pet. Please read the whole story.I was initially happy with Dr Ahedo, he seemed to be knowledgable and friendly. It wasn't until my dog became very sick and it was an emergency that I found out what this office was all about. I was talking to the Dr about some type of payment plan as the surgery that we were going to do was going to be very expensive. I am a retuning Veteran that lives on my GI Bill. I don't have a ton of expendable money, but could pay it off over a couple months as we had spoke about. He said he would send me an estimate and we would work from there. I got he estimate and it was even higher than I had imagined. I had come in last week to refill the antibiotics so and talk to the Dr about how we would proceed with her surgery and the plan on payment.  My dog became very Ill, she had a very serious infection, and possibly more than that could be life threatening. I called in the morning as this came about in the middle of the night. I was absolutely beside myself at the thought of losing my beloved pet and best friend. The staff was cold and rude. They had no record of my conversation and said they would never even have the conversation. I was about to break down, as everything that I had been told would happen, was no longer happening. On top of all of this Dr Ahedo was now out of town on vacation. Nobody had ever mentioned that he was going to be gone. I don't expect the world to cater to me, but I do believe that individuals that are in the healthcare field should care about patients first and not ask for payment first (especially when we had an agreement ahead of time). The staff was all rude, and told me to go somewhere else. The Dr covering for Dr Ahedo was the worst Dr I have ever spoken with, he was yelling at me over the phone before even listening to what I had to say. I did end up at another vet in town. He not only saw me right away, but had me back in for surgery within two days. After the surgery I spoke with the new Dr, and asked him if I should continue the meds from Dr Ahedo, he not only told me that I shouldn't give them to her anymore, but also they were not indicated for the type of infection she has. Dr Ahedo and Dr Owen are two of the worst Dr's in the Stockton area. They are priced incredibly high, I paid $300 less than half for her surgery at the other Dr and received phenomenal care. I would not ever take my dog back to either of these Dr's and would question if they should even be practicing any longer. Hey obviously are trying to cater to a wealthier clientele and overcharge them, most likely because they know that they probably will never ask about or look into what they are being charged. Don't be fooled by either of these Dr's they are only out to get your money and probably won't take care, or proper care of your animal. Its not that hard to find out what antibiotics to prescribe for a bladder infection. This is elementary and obviously too hard for either of these Dr's. Read Less

I have recently moved to Stockton and have been searching for a clinic for my pups. After a bad experience at the first place, I was referred to Village Vet and spoke with Judy on the phone. I was calling to inquire about bringing in my recently adopted rescue for a physical and heartworm test as she didn't receive those at the shelter. The heartworm test was priced at $65 which is WAY more expensive than I've ever paid and i've lived all across the country. Upon making a comment that it seemed high, Judy immediately was rude and defensive and suggested I try somewhere else. She then promptly hung up. I was shocked so I called back and asked her about it and if they wanted my business or not? She said, "after your comment about how expensive the test was, I referred you somewhere else". I then explained to her that it was not meant to offend, I've just NEVER paid that much for a heartworm test. My first rescue got heartworm in the shelter so I understand the importance of testing and prevention. Perhaps Judy and Village Vet should be more open minded when speaking with potential customers. I will NOT be making an appt here. Read Less

Village Vet is awesome. I took my cat to two other Vets before I found Village Vet. She hated the first one and would hiss and fight not to go and in the office it did not stop. The next Vet ran unnecessary test, waited for long periods of time in the waiting room to pick her up and they almost killed her. When we started at Village Vet, they were warm, compassionate and concerned. My cat never hisses or scratches. She is actually the calmest I have ever seen her when she is there. Veterinarians...great....staff who handles calls, appointments, etc...horribly insensitive and without a doubt no concern or compassion for animals...."Judy" specifically should not be working at a veterinarian hospital.  I've brought my dog in for years, however upon calling and requesting that a new dog I just saved from the pound be seen as she might not make it till tomorrow as she's not drinking and lethargic , I was told by Judy and I quote, "Yeahhhh, sorry...we're booked today with only 1 doctor...but I'll call if we get a cancellation".  How many doctors would this poor dog need?  In other words, if your dog dies oh well.  She makes no exceptions, no emergency visits, no flexibility, and they won't provide a billing statement nor offer payments so either way without an appointment (for an emergency...isn't that impossible?) and cash or credit then and there....your dog is a gonner! :(  Why do people like this choose to work at a hospital that I thought would exist to save as many pets' lives as possible?  Please remember that I've brought my other dog there for many years....didn't matter.  I believe she's gone to the dark-side and their new name is Hounds of Hell Hospital! Stockton is lucky to have Village Veterinary Clinic and their entire staff. My dogs have had their issues and they are so great at dealing with my craziness! Courteous staff, good vets, efficient service, and clean.  Not as cheap as you might find elsewhere, though.

They are very gentle with her and as long as I live in this area they will be the Vet for this pet and future pets. Read Less
