I had a pet emergency today, so I reluctantly called this office, after being told by fourteen other vets they had no appointments.Years ago, I had taken my GSD mix here and was less impressed by the vet. Â The rest of the staff is pretty good. Â Today, my pit mix was sick. Â The doctor never greeted my dog who just wanted to say "hi" (wagging tail and all).He wouldn't come close to touching my 47-lb pit mix, without myself or the vet tech holding him. Â The vet acted like my dog was a 100-lb, drool dripping, spike collar-wearing, jaw chomping, growling menace. The tech assisting got right down on the ground to get my boy's attention so he could be examined. Â All he wanted to was to say "hi" to everyone. Â .I had to repeat myself several times with the vet, saying what he ate and he kept asking me about everything else he could have eaten. Â I kept saying, no, just what I had told him. Â He tried to get me to go to UC Davis because I was very concerned with the amount of bloody stool. Â I said it could be....but I had to ask what the actual diagnosis was that he wanted to treat him for. Â By this time, I was trying to keep it together because I was worried about my dog and angry at how my boy was being treated. We're treating the symptoms, because I don't have a couple thousand to drop at UC Davis for an accurate diagnosis. Â I declined the over-priced bland dog food. Â Boiled chicken and rice is just as bland and a hell of a lot cheaper.I asked the person who rang me up, if the vet always acts that way around pit bulls. Â She said, "no" but sometimes does if they are hyper. Â I suggested next time he greet the dog, which helps out with that.I do not recommend this office, esp. if you have a large breed dog and definitely not, if you have a pit bull/mix. Read Less
