A bit of background:Previously and for decades, I took my adopted, senior cats to a different facility that was very small, but when it expanded into a large and very commercialized organization, I felt it became impersonal so I began recently checking with neighbors, friends and online for a different veterinary hospital. A few years ago, I became an adoptive pet parent for two small, bonded dogs, Sugar and Spice, (aka Jennifer and Lisa from the show, Friends) from the Silicon Valley Humane Society in Milpitas. Since their teeth looked bad, I brought Sugar and Spice to Serra Veterinary Hospital for dental estimates. It was quite shocking to discover how much dental work could be required, particularly for Sugar, so I decided to get her treated first, then Spice.Although I sensed Pam was very busy the many times I called with questions, she took the time and effort to patiently and professionally provide answers.Yesterday, I took Sugar in for her dental appointment, I was very teary and emotional at the thought of extractions, but once again Pam and the staff helped to alleviate my fears about the process. I also discovered they can help with alternative and holistic treatments as well. While in the lobby at Serra and prior to Sugar being taken in for her treatment, I met a woman with a dachshund rescue who has been taking her dogs to Serra for many years. She brought one of her dogs in for a very serious and extensive surgery. This was reassuring to me since Sugar's condition was not nearly so severe. I just can't thank everyone at Serra enough for their care and helpfulness throughout this treatment. I also want to extend very special kudos to Dr. Kate for her painstaking work extracting 16 teeth from Sugar's little mouth. Who knew that dogs have 42 permanent teeth. I sure didn't. Not only did everyone at Serra provide wonderful care and treatment for Sugar but, since I am retired and live within a fixed income, Pam took the time to help me reduce the costs where possible while still maintaining complete care. She also helped me set up a payment plan through Care Credit for me to cover the costs. I remain extremely grateful for the care given to my little four-legged pal by everyone at Serra Veterinary Hospital in Sunnyvale. She is now recovering at home today. Her BFF will be going in for her dental work soon as well. Serra Veterinary Hospital services are very fairly priced, and I highly recommend them, without hesitation, as THE PLACE FOR PETS! Read Less
