In February 2008 I took my 16+ yr old German Shepherd (Cory) to Collett Veterinary Clinic to be euthanized. Even though I was told they took walk-ins, I made an appointment. I was having a really hard time keeping myself together, which was made worse by how sad my dog seemed. I arrived at 11:45, which was 15mins early for my appointment. I was told to fill out their paperwork/take a seat and that they'd be right with me. Again, this was at 11:45am. At 2:00pm we were finally taken to a room, where we waited an additional 35mins for the doctor to give us our "consultation". I don't remember the doctor's name, but it was a man, rather tall & thin and he looked like he could be of Asian decent. He asked a few questions, then turned to leave. A technician needed to set up the IV, he said, and he would return once that was done. At that point I was crying fairly hysterically, almost non-stop. I was inconsolable with grief. The doctor, on the other hand, did NOT have much sympathy for me or my dog - a fact made all the more real when he told me, "You really need to calm down now .... It's just a dog." I couldn't believe my ears. To add insult to injury: When we were leaving to go home, I looked back and saw the doctor standing in the doorway of the room we'd been in. Behind him I could see my dog, still on the table and that she was laying in a pool of her own urine. I left Collett Veterinary Clinic grief stricken & seething with anger. I hoped that I'd never see or hear from anyone at Collett ever again. Unfortunately about a month later I got a sympathy card, signed by what looked like the entire staff, offering condolences for the loss of my beloved best friend. I became angry & hurt all over again. Please, please DO NOT take any of your pets to this vet.. not for any reason -- not ever.Read Less
