Having been a veterinary technician until 5 years ago years I can recommend Dr. Meza enthusiastically. The reviews here which accuse him of being a mercenary who manipulates clients to fleece them out of their money are clearly from inexperienced veterinary clients - he is not like that, I have known vets who were and he is not one of them. Dr. Meza is competent, caring and very practical about treatment, he is not out to waste your money. He possesses a strong scientific curiosity and wants to diagnose and solve pet health issues, even going as far as taking an extra x-ray on my dog (and not charging me for it) because he wanted to take a look at another part of the dog. He is clear about the expectations for treatment results and every time my dogs have responded better than expected. He has been very flexible about doing testing and treatment in stages to spread the cost out over time when possible. I have met patients who he saved from the brink of death and my dog is able to walk again thanks to his expertise. If you want good care for your pets and don't have a fortune to spend I would highly recommend that you give this practice a try. And no this is absolutely NOT a fake review and I have very high standards for the vet care my pets receive. The four stars are only because of the limited hours that the practice is open, otherwise it would be five. Read Less

My kitty Pixel had to have perineal urethostomy surgery. Finding a vet for your fur-baby is so difficult, especially if your pet is in pain and you don't know what is wrong. After taking Pixel to the emergency clinic 2x with a urinary obstruction he needed a surgery his regular vet did not perform. I was referred by the emergency clinic to Vet Care Animal Center where I first met Dr. Meza. Like any pet parent I was hesitant, I did know much about Vet Care Animal Center, but after talking to Dr. Meza about my concerns, he reassured me that he was in the best possible hands. Looking back ~ I truly believe he was. Post Surgery - I had a follow up call each morning checking in on Pixel making sure that all is well and the follow up check ups are thorough. Dr. Meza's team is so helpful and caring you can really tell that they care about each patient that walks through their door. It's been a month and Pixel is on the mend. Any 5 star review you see here is fake ! The stupid doctor wouldn't want to answer the phone when my lil sis took my puppy there. I was trying to explain to him the pup had ate a very small portion of rat poison and all you could hear through the phone was "oh no if you're gonna tell me what's wrong you tell me, don't be calling people because then the whole family is going to be calling." I made my sister put me on speaker and I yelled "the dog ate rat poison you f**king r**ard"and then he actually answers and asks me what's wrong. Awful service he also said my pup was anemic and charged extra for "vitamin injections" !!!which I doubt since I've been feeding it nothing but Crown Royal mini starter the recoommended food with either the moose or Natural Yogurt which should have all the nutrients the pup needs. I wasn't there so I couldn't be like "no he doesn't". But this place is a joke they don't care about the animals and they'll try to scam you with their"vitamins" which I doubt they even gave him! Worst clinical service. Took my pet for neuter. Though the procedure was a success, they mistreated my pet. They supposedly found my pet to have been infested with flees. They called to obtain my permission to bathe my pet after procedure. When my family member picked him up, my pet was in his carrier and my family did not noticed my pet to be still dam to soaking wet. On next business day, I return to clinic and questioned them. The guy who bathe him pretty much stated the clinic would never let an animal go in such conditions. He began making excuses such as perhaps my pet pee on himself on the drive home. Two weeks later, his story had changed. He stated that given the fact that procedure was done that he would not recommend completely dry an animal. He stated for healthy reasons, my pet was not dried. On the this same visit, he could not find a single flea on my pet. He could not make a case as to how my cat was flealess in just two weeks. Never taking any of my pets where they are treated as animals, are neglected and mishandled. WORST experience my pet and I have ever had in a pet clinic.Read Less

Two different vets had told me that my dog was dying and that i needed to put her down. They both told me that they could not find anything wrong with Betsy. I was distraught. How could it be that two vets could not discover what was wrong with my baby? I didn't know what to do. I was discussing my problem with a friend of mine when she referred me to see Dr. Meza. I was deep in debt ($3,000) from hospital bills. I didn't want to become deeper in debt and have him tell me the same thing i had heard twice. Something inside me told me that i had to give it one last try. I arrived to Collet Veterinary Clinic and was greeted by the wonderful staff. When i met Dr. Meza he and I clicked immediatly. We both spoke portuguese and this helped me explain what exactly my dog had been feeling. He then asked me "Do you believe in God?" and i replied Of course. He told me to go home and pray that my dog would be alright. Betsy stayed overnight with him and would be treated in various ways. I went home and prayed all night. The next morning i recieved a phone call directly from Dr.Meza explaining that Betsy was doing much better and that she would be able to go home. Although she wasn't 100% better i noticed much improvement. Once i saw her, i was hooked. I knew this man was the man that was going to save my dog. I continued to bring Betsy for her appointments and two months later she is as good as new. She is doing so great and it is all thanks to Dr. Meza and his wonderful staff. I am forever grateful for this man. I recommend him to everyone one of my friends with pets. GO SEE HIM!! HE IS A MIRACLE WORKER!!! Love and thank you Dr Meza, and staff. -Jane Alves Fontes Read Less

NOTE: "Hated it" so much I would've rated it negative 5-stars if I could have. ... In February 2008 I took my 16+ yr old German Shepherd (Cory) to Collett Veterinary Clinic to be euthanized. Even though I was told they took walk-ins, I made an appointment. I was having a really hard time keeping myself together, which was made worse by how sad my dog seemed. I arrived at 11:45, which was 15mins early for my appointment. I was told to fill out their paperwork/take a seat and that they'd be right with me. Again, this was at 11:45am. At 2:00pm we were finally taken to a room, where we waited an additional 35mins for the doctor to give us our "consultation". I don't remember the doctor's name, but it was a man, rather tall & thin and he looked like he could be of Asian decent. He asked a few questions, then turned to leave. A technician needed to set up the IV, he said, and he would return once that was done. At that point I was crying fairly hysterically, almost non-stop. I was inconsolable with grief. The doctor, on the other hand, did NOT have much sympathy for me or my dog - a fact made all the more real when he told me, "You really need to calm down now .... It's just a dog." I couldn't believe my ears. To add insult to injury: When we were leaving to go home, I looked back and saw the doctor standing in the doorway of the room we'd been in. Behind him I could see my dog, still on the table and that she was laying in a pool of her own urine. I left Collett Veterinary Clinic grief stricken & seething with anger. I hoped that I'd never see or hear from anyone at Collett ever again. Unfortunately about a month later I got a sympathy card, signed by what looked like the entire staff, offering condolences for the loss of my beloved best friend. I became angry & hurt all over again. Please, please DO NOT take any of your pets to this vet.. not for any reason -- not ever.Read Less

Same horrible vet, different name. Don't be fooled. Vaccinations are ok because of price, but if your pet is sick, RUN!
