Taft Veterinary Hospital

Taft, California
General Info
Taft pet owners benefit from the quality veterinary care provided by Taft Veterinary Hospital. The hospital offers continuous support to families and pets throughout California as they grow and advance through various life stages. Most veterinary visits start with a pet owner recounting how their dog or cat is “not moving as fast as usual” or “no longer wants to eat”. “Keeps scratching” or simply be- haves oddly. Veterinarians begin their examinations by assessing several critical aspects, including body weight trends, joint movement, oral health, respiratory rhythms, coat and skin health, and behavior. Every observation is documented and discussed to ensure owners understand what is normal for their pet and what things should be monitored or have follow-up care. Taft Veterinary Hospital offers preventative services such as vaccinations, lab testing, dental cleanings, nutritional planning, and parasite control. It also provides chronic care for allergies, arthritis, and metabolic diseases. Every visit is an opportunity to reassess goals and build off of previous issues while introducing new age/breed/exposure-specific care options that would address lifestyles changes, seasonal effects or behavior changes. Owners walk out with summaries that detail treatment plans, symptoms to watch, timelines for follow-up, and access to records or medication tips. Families with busy schedules and older pets with multiple pets can request when available telemedicine adjusted pacing to stay organized logs in between visits. Taft Veterinary Hospital ensures the consistent quality of services across all its establishments in Taft and California by providing dependable approaches toward minor and major issues. The team provides specialized services such as dental care, in-house pharmacy, microchipping, nutritional counseling, and oncology. Clients consistently commend the practice for its commitment to care and the individualized attention it gives to animals. From routine checkups to complex surgeries, the clinic ensures that your pet receives the highest quality of care in a comfortable and welcoming setting. Advanced diagnostics and treatment options, such as spay/neuter, surgery, vaccinations, and wellness exams, are available on-site to ensure your pet has access to comprehensive care.

Today was one of those trips you really didn't want to make to the Vet. My wife's 18 year old cat was about to be put down. We arrived at Taft Vet this morning at 8:30am. The staff knew why we were there. Not only because of when we called to make the appointment but they could see it in our eye's. Dr Ross and his staff have the biggest hearts in the world. They explained everything and although Dr Ross said he could run some test he said in a tender voice that she is not enjoying life in this condition. They gave us as much time as we needed before giving her the shot. She didn't put up much fight and laid down peacefully as she took her last breath. Thank you Dr. Ross and your staff for everything that you did. RIP Sid you will be missed :( Read Less
