Dr Smith is great. He is open minded and lets you make decisions together about your horses' treatment. He stays up to date with new technology and treatments. He returns phone calls promptly (which can be a challenge with equine vets) and he is usually on time for appointments (another challenge with the equine vets) He also communicates well with other vets if you have a complicated case that takes a team of specialists to figure out.
