Called on a Thursday, got my appointment for Friday morning.  Great parking and super clean facility.  Staff was very friendly and they got me in my room pretty quickly.  The Dr. was great and explained everything to me and gave me some options.  I'm glad there is such a nice place to bring our dogs in town! I lost another good friend Friday. The last of my 3 Musketeers. Rudee went over the Rainbow Bridge to be with Jake and Ziggy. My gratitude and thanks to Dr. Frank Komin and the staff at Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital that did all they could to save him. On November 1st, I lost my baby-His name was bubba or buddy. He was hit by a car and when I called this "Veterinary hospital" the woman I spoke too told me all they could do was look at him but would have to send him home. I dont know the reasons why this vet doesn't take emergencies but I do think they need to make some changes because when you have a seriously injured animal, you want the quickest and best care for them regardless if they make it or not. I did not and do not want to drive 30-45 minutes away when I have a broken and bleeding dog in my arms. Luckily we do have a different and very reliable vet in this town. I can't say enough about how much I love this vet ! My 13 year old dog was attacked and in very poor condition. The Dr immediately took him into surgery and saved him. He is home now doing very well. The staff called me and kept me informed of everything that was happening. They were all so companionate and caring to us. They even gave my baby a bath and trimmed his nails. They've been my Vets for 20 years. Taken excellent care of all my pets. The Staff is always friendly and helpful. The Drs are all great! Took my dog in and Dr Anderson was honest and up front and told me he could fix his leg surgically but I could go to Anaheim and get it fixed less invasively. Of course I stayed with Dr Anderson. My dog made a complete recover and has had no issues since. Read Less

I have taken my cats and dogs there for 3 years. I have always found the staff and vets to be pleasant and quite competent. I have one dog who is terrified of all vets, except the staff here...although he still hates the waiting room experience. It is a bit pricey, but they do know their stuff! Read Less

Took my cat here because she had an eye problem. First of all, the waiting room is chaotic and noisy. This stressed me and my cat. The front desk people do w good job but are under alot of pressure. I was told to give my cat 2 medications for her eye that did not work. When I took her back for a recheck I was told that her eye would probably rupture and there was nothing else they could do but refer me to a ophthalmologist for animals in Los Angeles . That the surgery would save her eye and cost mr about $700. I was so upset after hearing this.I went home and did research on cats and eye problems . Learned it us quite common.Got another opinion by another vet. They told me her eye will heal and prescribed a different medication. She is slimiest completely better.Guess this Tehachapi veterinarian hospital is only in it to make money and wants to take advantage of their clients -playing on their fears and emotions . This last year my two labs (Romeo and Juliette) experienced major sickness to the point we thought we might loose them. We have been taking them to Tehachapi Vet Hospital for quite some time and thought they were great, but after they lovingly nursed them back to health, I think they are FANTASTIC! We get great service from the Doctors and staff at TVH. And the price is reasonable. We have been to other veterinarians with our pets but moved to TVH permanently. As for price of medications for example. Our local vet was charging me $27 for 90 pills and when we moved to TVH we paid the same amount for 1000 pills. Were we getting ripped off or not? TVH has always been very compasionate and responsive when it comes to our pets needs. I always recomment TVH to all of my friends. The cost of medical care for animals can be expensive, but I find them to be more reasonable than our local vet. They treat their patients like they would their own pets. They make you feel very welcome. And, I guess there are many other people who feel the same because they are always very busy.Read Less
