Briana is amazing! So wonderful that words cannot give her enough kudos. Someone had sideswiped my car while I was in with my Chihuahua seeing the super smart and lovely vet, and WITHOUT my even asking Briana came out with a rag and a solution and rubbed off the very long mark the car left  (no note, by the way).  She told me the dent would pop out. I've been taking my dog Sadie to Anza for years and I wholeheartedly recommend them.  Dr. Watase and Dr. Spadaro and their entire staff really care about my dog and it shows.  Both Dr. Watase and Dr. Spadaro are wonderful.  In my eyes, both of them practice veterinary medicine like an art in its highest form. I really want to express my deepest appreciation for the care, concern and responsiveness everyone at Anza has shown for my 13 year old dog who was recently diagnosed with cancer.  I understand at this point it is all about "quality of life." Their knowledge and professionalism continues to provide my dog with more "happy days" that she so much deserves during this challenging time for us.  When it comes to quality of care and excellence, this place is better than "as good as it gets."  Keep up the great work.(p.s./ EDIT: sorry Anza but it appears Yelp is filtering my review.  I took a LOT of time to write a positive review and they are filtering it!  So, at present I'm a happy Anza customer but not so happy with Yelp). If you are looking for a reliable, animal lover, excellent vet- Dr Watase is my number one recommendation. I live 32 miles away from this clinic but don't mind the drive when I need a Vet to walk me through the medical condition, steps to be taken and will be considerate on purse strings.He is focused, has good bed side manners and is punctual. I love the staff and find them warm and polite. I am at a vet office almost weekly for the past 8 years. Front office staff starts to matter just as much as the vet due to interactions for appointments and follow ups.Anza Animal Clinic is TOP NOTCH. Anza is a ripoff scam. Our dogs are always housed with the best kennel in town. Balcom Kennels. Balcom offered us to take our dogs to Anza for bordatella vaccination and during the transport, our dog caught the rear nail on the cage.The kennel immediately informed us of the incident and told us it was a mild situation. However, Anza immediately proceeded to sedate the dog, administer all kinds of antibiotics and the cost was astronomical. We NEVER GAVE PERMISSION FOR OUR DOG TO BE SEDATED. The kennel is a top business operation and felt that they should pay for the nail. The issue we have with is that that bill was over $200.When we confronted them, they said they received our permission to sedate the dog. Our response was: We were in a hospital in San Diego and NEVER answered our phone.They lied and found an opportunity to levy all these charges over a nail incident which was unnecessary. and to boot, they overcharged the bordatella shot which we were quoted $18 and they charged $22. They clipped the hanging nail and charged us $50. Shameful!We will never go back.As for the Kennel Operation?THE BEST YOU WILL EVER FIND!Balcom Kennels in Somis. We had the misfortune to have the need to put our two older dogs down last week.  We took them to Anza Animal Clinic and specifically to Melanie Spadaro, who was referred to us by a family friend.  Melanie and the staff at Anza were extremely kind and accommodated us on short notice, giving us a private room and letting us take all the time we needed to say goodbye to our beloved friends.  Melanie was very compassionate and exceedingly knowledgeable about the health and welfare of our animals and helped us through our difficult decision achieving true peace that it was for the best for our pets.  We have another small dog and over the weekend adopted another young puppy from a local animal Rescue.  We will be transferring all of their care to Melanie at Anza Animal Clinic. I just want to dispute some uniformed person that said Anza did a botch job on a neuter. All this person did was to look at the stitches and she flipped out. Neuters and spays always have stitches. Such an amazing vet. I took my dog to a different vet about a year ago, and I felt taken advantage of. It made me not want to take my baby to the vet anymore. But yesterday, I just had to. After a few days of research, I decided to take her to Anza. We called at about 2:30 and we were able to get her in at 3:45. THANK GOODNESS. She hadn't gone to the bathroom in 3 days and wasn't eating. Not even wet food! What dog turns down wet food?! Anyway, come to find out my little 3 year old Lhasa Apso has Colitis and a skin infection. We got her two different medications, a skin cream and 4 cans of special food, and our bill was only $117. I have gone to Dr. Watase years ago then moved. I have had several dogs but this particular one Nicky developed cancer and was given 2 to 6 months to live. Nicky lived 2 years and in a matter of about 36 hours declined horribly. Dr. Watase actually came to my house to relieve Nicky because Nicky was a large dog and wouldn't be comfortable being carried around like that. Who ever reviewed the fact they are rude. I did not find that at all. Even if a professional was not people friendly, I'm not in need of a friend but someone who is an expert in their field. I will say there was an employee there who was stern to me and I appreciate it to this day. I learned a lot by him. They are great and now I moved back into the area will be going there again. The Anza Animal Clinic is very caring, concerned and takes the time to talk with me and answer all my questions. I had utilized other vet's in the Conejo Valley area prior to The Anza Clinic. If I could give this place less than one star I would. They botched my dog's spay surgery causing a host of issues including infections and unnecessary pain. AND now that shes of age she is in heat because they left pieces inside her. Can you say malpractice suit?! Read Less

I've been taking my two dogs to Anza Animal Clinic for several years and have been completely satisfied with the service my dogs and I have received. Dr.Watase really loves animals and you can tell by the way he treats them and by how they respond to him. He performed gall bladder surgery on one of my dogs and treated my other one for a bee sting allergy. Both dogs recovered completely and were given the best of care. I highly recommend this clinic. I have been going to Dr. Watase for 10 years now. He is the most amazing vet. I should know. I am the founder of a non-profit dog rescue and have met my fair share of mediocre vets before being lucky enough to find him. I drive to him from Pasadena! He has cared for over 600 of my rescues alone. Always right on target with his opinion. He is the greatest diagnostician I've ever met. I could go on and on but he has saved the lives of so many dogs and I owe him so much. My personal dogs all get the best care there as well and when my beloved dog Dino got cancer, he took my calls right away.
