My 7 year-old chiahua corgi mix was constipated and had a extremely red behind, so I took him to Dr. Bremer.  It turned out to be an impacted anal gland. It ended up rupturing and they used a cooling laser to help heal the wound. I was sent home with antibiotics and Meloxicam and goodcare instructions.  Dr. Bremer called me the next day to check up on Shadow. Dr. Bremer is kind of a superstar. My dog, Rocky, has a heart murmur. His heart has enlarged. From everything I've read his days are numbered. I switched from a nearby animal hospital because they refused to continue a prescription after his doctor left her practice at that location just a couple of months after he'd been examined and diagnosed. More money was the name of the game. They were good enough to transfer medical records after a few calls. The people at Arboles Animal Clinic picked up the ball and their care and accomplished ability to remember Rocky's name and condition has been impressive. Dr. Bremer's care and compassion has made me a customer for life. Rocky's time is clearly limited; he's been prescribed a medication that will ease his life. It's a class 2 narcotic that requires regular written prescriptions. Dr. Bremer provides the written prescription monthly without additional charge or complaint. He regularly asks about Rocky's condition, and just today reassured me that quality of life is the key. If you want personal care - a staff that remembers your pet by name - Arboles Animal Clinic is for you! The prices are reasonable and they discuss them with you beforehand. Ask for Nate! I do not usually write reviews, but felt compelled to post a rave review for Arboles Animal Clinic.  We experienced the highest quality of care, incredible compassion and overall professionalism.  Dr. Bremer and ALL the staff are exceptional!  They truly care and go above and beyond.  We recently had a very sick dog and we were so worried.  Dr Bremer returned my call on a Saturday night and saw us at the clinic on a Sunday.  He was so caring and competent.  We knew we were in good hands.  Nate, Laura and Robin are all amazing!  They are all so helpful, kind and knowledgeable.  I highly recommend this clinic. I brought my dog in for an illness which evolved over a few weeks into a very comlicated issue. Dr. Bremer was very knowledgeable and communicated clearly with me on all the possible causes and costs of testing and treatment. His staff is wonderful. Charlie loved them all and they handled her very gently and were so sweet to her. My sweet 5 year old dog got pneumonia as a complication of this illness. Dr. Bremer and Nathan came in on a Sunday to tend to her and saved her life. When the mystery illness was still unresolved, Dr. Bremer did not hesitate to communicate with a specialist. This is probably another hit or miss clinic for levels of care. Had to wait about 1/2 hour after the appt. time we'd made, but the disappointments didn't end with that. The vet and assistant were not courteous or adept in what was required on this visit. Considering the issue, my pet received unfriendly and rough treatment and I was frustrated with the way this escalated to a very tense atmosphere. A "sorry" after the fact won't cut it, here on Yelp. That's just great that there's positive reviews here, too, because it proves my point of this facility's inconsistency. And, is it really that hard to call my pet by name rather than keep saying "it" or even use a gender pronoun? I went here to save money, but with all their shortcomings, it wasn't worth the bit of savings. Lesson learned, going back to Mid Town Vet in Newbury Park. Read Less

I've recently relocated from out of state and have been looking for a vet for my two greyhound rescues.  I have gone to multiple vets now in the area and just been flabbergasted by the pricing and ridiculous recommendations for unnecessary interventions.  I'm so happy and relieved to have found this office.  Dr. Bremer is reasonably priced for the area (hooray!), extremely knowledgeable and very down-to-earth.  He took a lot of time to explain my different options for my dogs' dental health (an area of concern for greyhounds in general) as well as to consult on their diet and options for flea and heart worm prevention.  He took a very educational stance and was not pushy about any of his recommendations, which I really appreciated.  The office staff is also very friendly and caring toward both the human and canine clientele.  The facility is definitely a little bit older but its very well-maintained and clean.  The Arboles Animal Clinic was exactly what I was looking for--I'm pleased to say I will be bringing my pups here for many years to come and would recommend this office to anyone who is looking for a great vet. My husband and I are so impressed with the care, kindness, and professionalism exhibited by the entire Arboles Animal Clinic staff. Our older cat, Nicky, was struggling to walk and crouched down on his haunches to urinate. He was obviously in distress. At 11:00 on a Friday night we took him to an emergency animal facility on Moorpark Avenue in Thousand Oaks. It turned out to be an expensive waste of time. They sold us painkillers and told us there was something wrong with his back based on the x-rays. My cat was "numbed up" all weekend. We went to Banfield after work on Monday, who sent us immediately to an animal hospital in Ventura, VMSG. They wanted to charge us $6600.00 to perform surgery on Nicky, advising us during the consultation that it could be more expensive and he could die that night. The doctor was rude and deprecating. The next morning, my husband brought Nicky back to Banfield. The doctor examined Nicky and sent him on to Dr. Bremer who assessed the situation and performed an extensive surgery. My husband and I were kept abreast of Nicky's progress and received phone calls from Dr. Bremer on his day off! This man is so passionate about his work. He invested the time and energy to explain this very complicated procedure. We are now 6 weeks post surgery and Nick is happily enjoying his life at home. My experience at Arboles has been nothing but positive. I have hung in there while the hospital has changed ownership three times and am so glad that I did. Dr. Bremer is a keeper.
