If anyone needs to take their pet to the vet, I definitely recommend Conejo Valley Vet. We had to bring in our new puppy because she had a seizure and they were so compassionate and knowledgeable. I was so amazed by how kind they were. And without any mention of money they made it a point to save money where possible. They text and call you with updates and are patient enough to answer all of your questions. These people wanted our dog to be okay as much as we did. Kiki and I were there last night, because I could tell something was off about her. She suffers from renal failure, so pretty much everything is cause for concern. The place is huge and very nice, aesthetically speaking. I felt like we had come to a place with state of the art technology. The staff is prompt, professional, and compassionate (considering it was 4 in the morning and that was the very last place I wanted to be). Veterinary medicine is expensive. Scream it, punch a pillow, tell a houseplant how much you hate it, and move on. They don't overcharge compared to any other emergency clinic, and they will work with you as far as money goes. I knew walking in what I could spend, and I told them flat out. The doctor told me what they could do on my budget based on what she wanted to find out, and we went for it. She was friendly and no-nonsense (exactly what I wanted at oh-my-god o'clock in the morning) and we came up with a game plan from there. If you're reading this review, odds are you need or needed their services. Always remember, there will be more money. It's inconvenient, but you can call your auto loan company and ask for an extension, or cable, DWP. People appreciate that you're helping your companion. Biggest joke of a vet I have ever been to. I placed a pharmacy order on the 13th, called in today, 5 days later, to ask if it was ready. Was told it was ready. Came in to find out that it's not even at the hospital and could not give me an eta when it would be here. My dog I adopted was a stray and is riddled with parasites from being out in the wild so long. So needless to say this medicine is a necessity. This man is a cheat!!!   He is a lousy vet.  Worthless.  He overcharges.   He comes up with remedies that are not necessary and in our opinion it is just so he can bill more.  He is late for appointments - and in fact on our first appointment he never bothered to showed up- instead he sent a tech.    He "treated" my son's new horse and cost us well over a thousand dollars for worthless x-rays and shots when he knew darn well from the very start that the horse was lame and yet he continued to BS us into treatments that were absolutely not necessary and a waste of time.  He took complete advantage of a young guy who didn't have experience with horses and he knew he could railroad him in to spending bucks.  After weeks of treatment  he announced-  " well the horse has a career ending injury".  He knew that from the start and just wanted bucks.  Word is on the street that he is hurting for money.  He takes advantage of people.  He spent most of his time on the phone wandering around chit chatting with whomever is on the phone and ignoring US the paying customer!!!   What a waste of our time and money.  He ignored every question presented to him.  He is RUDE, arrogant and unprofessional.  In fact- our first appointment which was made specifically with him because he had such great word of mouth recommendations...... instead, he sent out a tech but charged for a vet.  On one occasion he showed up in pitch black dark after we sat and waited for him for hours and hours and no one answered the phone after 5pm.  Yet he showed up in the dark.  What the heck?  Out of control.  FIND ANOTHER REAL VET. My dog decided he was dying from a scrape on his foot and maybe something small in it. I was concerned it might be a bite of some kind based on the way he was acting so I took him in. That portion was treated fine. But the vet told me my dog has a heart murmur which was concerning the to me.Read Less

The people, the facility, the vets are fantastic. It's open 24 hours and helps injured and sick wildlife, as well, for free. I've been going there since the 1990s (at its old location back then). I wouldn't trust any other place with my animals' health and well being. All the vets are great, and Dr. Hughes is amazing. Read Less

Yesterday was such a difficult day for our family as we made our decision to put our wonderful dog Skye to sleep. The team led by Hillary Lookingbill were professional, supportive and compassionate and gave us the time we needed to help us through this very difficult and emotional decision. This is the best Veterinary Hospital in the Conejo Valley without question. It is not even close. Staff is competent from the vets to the technicians. The service is personalized to your pet and for boarding, a 5++++. I highly recommend it as you will 100% agree it is the best! Read Less
