We have been coming here for years and have been incredibly satisfied with the care we have received. My mom was the one who actually brought in my dog for a nail trim and told me the wait was rather long. She did appreciate them comping the cost of the service due to the wait. Our dog has been a patient here since we got him at 12 weeks old. It’s been 1 1/2 yrs now and we are extremely happy with the care here. Last week they did a great job squeezing him in same day for the allergic reaction he had to skunk odor removal products. Appreciate the follow up call to see how he’s doing He had a growth removed and liked the way they suggested waiting to remove the same time as neutering to save us money. I have always had good luck at western veterinary group. The doctor I use most is retiring so he found a great doctor for me to go to when he’s not there and I had to make an emergency visit and see another doctor and she is wonderful as well! I find the doctors very knowledgeable and they don’t try to sell you more than you need. What I appreciate most about western veterinary group is their willingness to work from the bottom up instead of the top down with regards to my animals healthcare. It really is helpful considering veterinary expenses can really rack up! I also appreciate the doctor giving me their opinion of what is wrong rather than giving me a sheet of paper with all the things I can do to help the animal and trying to decide myself what I should do. Western Vet is our go to vet. They have provided excellent care for our dog for the past four years. Their staff is patient and caring. You can tell that they are passionate about what they do. This was my 1st time at Western Vet Group and I've heard and read many great things about it. So, because of that, I was very disappointed in my experience there. I took my dog in for a growth on his belly and after examining my dog and taking him back for a few procedures, it was decided the growth needed to be removed and I was presented with a "treatment sheet with costs". I was a bit surprised at the cost so I started asking what a few of the procedures were for and whether I really needed them. Turned out I didn't, they were just "recommended." So, I did manage to reduce the cost by a few hundred dollars but I'm sure many people don't ask those questions and pay for things that aren't 100% necessary. The doctor returned a call to let me know the results of my dog's lab work on his growth prior to surgery and she spoke so fast and in terms I didn't understand. But, the more I asked for clarification and to repeat what she was saying, the more she seemed annoyed with each question (you should realize we aren't doctors). I returned 3 more times (the morning of surgery when I had questions about the surgery but there was no doctor there, the afternoon I picked him up and today to have his sutures removed) and I never spoke or saw a veterinarian on any of those visits. It's hard to develop a relationship with a veterinarian when you go in 4 times and only meet the doctor for a few minutes on the 1st visit. And the front reception area is like Grand Central Station so that sometimes they overlook you also. And I really wanted to love this place! My experience with this vet group has always been positive. My dog can be a bit difficult to handle at times. The vets and techs are always patient with him and get any necessary treatments completed. The staff in the office are great and really work with my schedule to get him in. I had been with another vet before Western Veterinary Group but was not really happy with the service, staff and doctors there. I think the only reason I stayed with them was because they were close to home. A few years back when my son found a little baby Chi on the street, I was looking to get her spayed, we found Western Vet. Group ( I thought this was a good time to look for another Vet) My first visit, I instantly felt like it was "home" as the staff was so friendly and welcoming. You could tell this is a place that truly loves animals, and will treat your pet as if they were their own. Their rates are reasonable, fair and upfront. Their office is beautiful modern and clean. Dr. Mike is the most caring and compassionate person as well as being an extremely experienced and knowledgeable Vet. All the doctors there are excellent and the staff warm and friendly. Its been 7 years now we have been going to Western Vet Group and I could not be more pleased and satisfied. It continues to be the same well run caring office year after year. We have been taking our cat to Dr. Mike at Western Vet for many years. Our cat had a complicated heart condition and was given the best care by Dr. Mike and the staff. Unfortunately, we had to put him to sleep right after Christmas. Dr. Mike and the staff were so kind and compassionate throughout the whole situation.
