Ohana Veterinary Clinic I would recommend to anybody I have to service dogs that they have taken care of for quite a while one had a surgery to remove something suspicious and she was nice enough to remove some other fatty tissues most doctors would have left it and charge me again also the prices are amazing I got a estimate of 1400 from one doctor and when I went to Ohana they charge me 700 and free check-ups just a wonderful place and I feel my animals are save there Read Less

Took our dog here to get spayed. They killed her and say that she died "unknown reasons". Completely furious at their professionalism and their way of handling the situation. They call the crematory and send her to get cremated. Don't even bother to do additional bloodwork or anything to see what the cause of death was. I would never recommend this place to have their pet spayed, or any type of surgery. They apparently have no idea what they are doing. I brought my dog to Ohana I am disabled and my dogs make my life manageable I found a small mass and his tummy and Ohana was the most amazing Veterinary facility in a hole front office Veterinary helpers interns just a hole lot of very nice people that really do care about your animals like they were your own I am extremely grateful after 5 years of having my dogs service dogs I finally found a wonderful facility that I feel comfortable enough to leave my dog and even though being nervous I felt confident that they were going to take very good care as if it was their own dog so Ohana I want to thank you so much I would 100%tell all my family and friends about this location and this will be my number one testimony at church on Sunday thank you Ohana you're the best Randalls mommy and daddy Read Less

I have been taking my pets here for the last year.  I have 1 dog that requires a lot of medical attention and Dr. Tran has been amazing to deal with.  She is very caring and understands the needs of both the dog and the owner.  She does offer suggestions and different options for the needs of the pet.  The prices are reasonable but everything does add up.  Prescriptions are usually ready same day and appointments are easy to make, they also offer walk in services a few times a week. I have a wonderful vet in Long Beach but the drive is treacherous with a sick animal in the car. I have tried the animal clinic next door to Ohana and they are not good. As luck would have it, I stumbled across Dr. T. Uchima at Ohana (used to be Janson's). She is a straight shooter and helped me understand the serious diagnosis of my animal. I started bringing my dogs here when we relocated to the South Bay.  The staff couldn't be friendlier and the office visits are reasonably priced.  My dog is aging with a slew of issues (food allergies, dry eyes, arthritis...my poor girl).  Anyway, Dr Tran prescribed meds that have actually help with her quality of life.  I'm so thankful.  The med charges are on the proxy side so I order online if I can wait the 3-5 days for shipping.  Ohana is always understanding and accommodating with helping me get meds elsewhere, which I appreciate.  I feel my pets are in great hands in their care! I've taken my dog here RIP Mr. Kash (German Shepard) back in 1999 or so, then RIP Mr. Niko (German Shepard) back in 2010, & now my two dogs Ms. Nena (Chihuahua Mix) & Gummie (Chihuahua Mix).  Prices are affordable, customer service is great, the calmness they've offered all my dogs is pleasant, a few times other pet owners were not very friendly considering the waiting area is a bit tight but I do understand the distress they must be on as their fur kids seem a bit edgy. My fur kids are not all well behaved due to my lack of training as well.  So my review is based solely on the performance of this clinic and that's why I give it a 5 stars. If they sense your fur kid is aggressive they will take a step back and will not cause any further distress to your fur kid.  They listen and use very soft tones when directing the attention to your fur kids which always leaves you with a warm feeling that they will be ok.Always ask for name of who you talked to on the phone and ask for pricing before you get here, don't leave it as a walk in were you're in desperation to help your fur kid & then complain you didn't get the help you "Feel" you deserved when you didn't do your research properly.  I have a good personal insurance so why take my dogs to a cheaper location to save on $$ when I won't do it to myself.  This is definitely the clinic I always take all my pets to.  They've never failed me once. I have been rescuing cats for the last four years and I have been to more Vets than I can remember!  But, I can remember this one for ever!!   Dr. Uchima and her staff have gone to great lengths, to take care of all the rescue cats and kittens that I have brought to their office!  I would say several dozen so far!    Not only is she understanding and compassionate , she is fair and realistic regarding pets and the cost to care for them.    I rescued a kitten and I had no  idea that it had been hurt so badly and needed and leg amputation.  It's whole back side had been crushed !!!   He was found in a pile of trash .       If it wasn't for Dr. Uchima and her staff ,taking this kitten under their wing, this kitten would not be alive and thriving today!  They took this kitten into the hospital and cared for it for a week and amputated his leg.  And yes I was able to afford the fee!    God bless Ohana veterinary clinic and everybody associated with them. The procedures are always explained to you very clearly and they are very open to any questions or concerns you may have. Dr. Tracie Uchima is a very knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and caring Veterinarian with extensive training and education. She explains things in lay persons terms so one can understand the issue or illness of their companion animals in very precise and succinct language. My cats love her and she manages to put them at ease with her gentle bedside manner. Her staff is excellent, loving and easy going. they make me feel welcome when I come to the Clinic. We love ohana veterinary because on july 15th, 2015 they saved our scooby. by doing surgery due to having a puss filled pocket of infection in her uterus that if not caught when they did would have burst and killed her. Been there a few times and the Vet there is not knowledgeable on a lot of things or just giving me misinformation. Saying that my Flea drops didn't kill the fleas on the dog so I needed to give him a THEIR MEDS... Then Charged me for services never rendered or even needed... Will Never go back and would not suggest anyone else go there either unless they want to spend money that they don't need to spend... Not to mention the almost suffocated my dog... Not knowledgeable people there... They were going to clean my dogs ears so they were trying to put on a muzzle but my dog is a Short face Boxer with a nose the is at a back slant... So when it went on is COVERED his nose and he couldn't breath... They didn't see it and my dog was swinging his arms and they thought it was just him... On Friday my husband took our 11 yr old active pit bull to Jansen to get a cyst removed ($400) so we agree to the price! later they called to tell my husband that she had a tumor in her spleen that it needs to be removed, so my husband agreed to that and they suggested she gets spayed (at her age? really?) my dog was never the same after that! they butchered her!! she had no life in her eyes, she had no appetite, when she drank water she was throwing up, she was miserable!! we took her back to the vet to see why she was in so much pain and had no appetite, they told us that she was dehydrated so they put an IV in her and gave her a morphine patch and deliver the news that she had cancer!! WTF!!! WE WERE IN SHOCK!! why in the world didn't they give us more options like suggest to us not to open her up!! let her live as she was without the cyst! she was an older dog anyways!! our beloved pit bull died 5 days later! my family and friends are devasted! our dog was so loved and active!! Jansen's should have known that the surgery could and would kill her!! they only saw $$$ signs!! and took advantage of our love for our dog!! I will never go there or recommend them to anyone!! and how did they know she even had cancer if the biosy wasn't back yet? $1700 later they finally call the day she died but we didn't answer cause we were to busy mourning our dog!! The Vet said he thought my 4 month old puppy had Distemper, because his eyes were swollen and some Discharge. But after I declined the 90.00 Skin distemper test, he gave me 50 bucks worth of medicine for conjunctivitis (Dog Pink Eye). After 3 days of no sign of relief from my Pup Taco, i took her to another vet in Long Beach (review coming). As soon as the vet saw her he said Puppy Strangles he did a FREE skin biopsy which confirmed Puppy Strangles. Prescribed another medicine and now my pup is getting much better! Read Less
