We have been going to Pacific Vet for the past few years and have always been happy with every doctor we have seen there from Dr Maria, Dr Yuka, Dr Fernandez, and Dr Torissi. I have 4 dogs, so we are there fairly often. I love that they have drop off appointments, that has helped me out so often when one of my pet's has an issue that needs to be addressed sooner than my next day off. The front desk staff and techs are always professional and friendly. They always bring my pets out with a smile, even when I'm 99% sure one of them are a huge pain in the rear and I appreciate them dealing with that one. I refer my grooming clients to them whenever they need a vet recommendation because I truly feel they are the best in the area. Read Less

I really like the doctors here but the front office is terrible.  My teeth cleaning went from $300 to almost $600 with no warning within 2 months found out after doing 2nd dog .  Prior phone issues too .  I feel like they are pinging me for cash today telling me they were due for semi annual physicals since they are senior dogs yet they just had one in May prior to teeth cleaning  yet so was never informed they needed semi annual.  Plus keep getting email reminder one of the dogs needed shots so asking about that today find out its for heartworms?  She never had prior why now?  just feel like they want to get as much costs out of me as possible .  ShAme on me for expecting them to keep my pets records straight. My husband and I were out of town for the weekend and were unable to bring the dogs along. They had never boarded before and one of them was a little nervous (as usual with anything new). Before the very first night, it was greatly appreciated to receive a call from the Vet to give us an update on how they were doing. Overall it was a great experience :) I know we can trust PVC!! Dr. Maria Castiglione and Staff at Pacific Veterinary Center are truly professional and caring.  The expertise of the doctors is top caliber.  The center is a warm, inviting place --for both fur babies and their people. We have had all of our cat family under Dr. Maria's care since the 1990s and so appreciate the personal interest she and her staff take in good times -and in times when the kitties were older and failing.   And the cats have all loved Dr.Maria and Dr. Yuka!  They trust them implicitly as do my husband and I to use most advanced technologies and techniques or meds as required to keep our kitties healthy and long lived. One of our kitties at age 2 ( he is 4 now!) broke his hip , but after surgery with a specialist, Dr. Larsen, recommended by Dr. Maria, he is perfect!  You'd never know he had broken his hip!  He jumps to high places and is as active as ever! Plus Dr. Maria  was in surgery too with Dr. Larsen, and she and Dr. Yuka took such great post-op care of our little one!  We could go on and on about all the positive experiences we've had with this veterinary group over the years, but we'll close by just saying that this team is simply awesome, empathetic, kind, patient and expert in the field of veterinary science. I never write reviews but this place has been so amazing that I want everyone to know! The whole staff at pacific vet center is very qualified and knowledgeable, super kind and very very accommodative. After two horrible vet experiences prior to coming here (I previously went to Affordable Animal Care and VCA Clarmar- both suck incredibly; do not waste your time), I immediately felt comfortable having Dr. Maria and staff perform the dental extractions on my 4lb maltese. The front desk receptionists are also very welcoming, especially Monique. This place took such excellent care of my little dog, she is back home and happy and feeling great already! They even deducted some costs and gave me my dog back with a fresh bath and hair trim (both times!). You can tell they really love animals here. They were also very accommodative with payment, as my dog's surgery was expensive for me, HOWEVER, compared to others' prices for dental extractions, it was worth every penny here. I can't wait to bring in my other dog for a check-up; I am a very very very happy customer and see myself coming here regularly. Dr. Maria is AWESOME! She is an amazingly intelligent and extremely astute and thorough veterinarian. We took our cat to 3 other places to find out what was going on with him - nobody could diagnose it correctly. Dr. Maria took one look at it and diagnosed him, accurately, immediately. A few meds took care of his problem for the remainder of his life. The staff are great, too! They are so caring and when our 18 year old "kitty" passed... they were so understanding and compassionate! They truly get that our pets are our "kids." The only negatives, here... because Dr. Maria is willing to take such caring and time with her patients, the wait can be long to see her. Great First Experience!My first time at Pacific Vet Center was great!  My vet Dr Yuka took alot of time to explain my dog's heart murmur problem.  She is well versed in this condition and explained everything in laymen's terms.  She gave me alot of advice, copies of the xrays they took of my dog, printed information on my dog's condition, and even print outs of the medications she was taking.  I really appreciated the extra time she took with me on my first visit.....staying well past their 6pm closing time.  I plan to bring my dog back and hope to become a regular patient...... Dr. Maria is a very caring and intelligent vet.  She always goes beyond our expectations in her kind-hearted mannerism.  She is invaluable when it comes to taking care of our girl, Karli.  Karli loves her!  The staff is supportive, friendly, and always available to help!  Dr. Yuka is also very good and when Dr. Maria is not available or booked, I am happy with the care we receive from her as well.  Certain treatments are given by the technicians and Kristi is always very gentle with Karli and we entrust in her as well.  The front office staff (Denise, Julie, Monique, Vanessa, & Theresa) always greet us with a friendly "Hello" even when they are busy and going a hundred miles an hour.  We feel lucky to have such a wonderful facility to take Karli to! So happy my canine daughter has been under Dr Maria's care during her bladder and skin infection bout.  Dr Maria is very caring, provides excellent care and offers so much support during the entire treatment process.  She will only prescribe medication as needed and will start with the lowest dose/duration.  Dr Maria was out of the office when I stopped by to pick up some medication and the receptionist, Vanessa, was extremely helpful and took the time to patiently listen to my concerns and questions.  She also suggested me to send a message to the client service email and Dr Maria promptly called me to address my concern although she was out of the office.  We are so glad to have been introduced to her and this exceptional veterinary clinic. Our 2 rescue kitties saw several vets and were vaccinated at clinic events for many years. When one of them started gaining weight and developed a "lump" we panicked. The referral we got from our now daughter-in-law saved the day highly recommending Dr. Maria. This kitty had been defensive and resistant everywhere else, yet purred madly the moment Dr. Maria picked her up. We are so grateful that the waiting room and exam room is clean and safe, but especially that the staff and Dr. Maria in particular are calming, gentle, knowledgeable and skilled. The lump turned out to be a fat lump that, now, several years later hasn't changed. I appreciate that the approach to treatment is conservative and the expectations in how to manage kitty care on my end is reasonable as is the cost for the visit to our vet of choice. Read Less

Very friendly staff! I called on a Saturday and was able to get an appointment within a few hours to see the vet. They care about you and your pets! My only complaint is that I wish people would pick up after their dogs! But this is not the facility's fault! There are signs posted asking people to pick up after your dog. We just took our dog in because she was having shaking episodes.  It was very strange and they got us in ASAP literally 10 min after I called we showed up and they got her looked at. They did blood work and a physical all for what I can assure you are very normal reasonable prices.  I think we saw Maria (if I remember correctly I was half distracted worrying about my furry BFF) the facility was very clean and the staff was friendly.  I think we found our new vet. Wish I can do 0 star. Dr. Yuka neglectfully almost killed my dog. She didn't give us any explanation and precautions. The next early morning we went back with my dog, she was totally lethargic, we were lucky to be able to get a help from the other doctor. According to another doctor, Dr. Yuka should have given an explanation and something to neutralize the effect before the treatment that the normal, reasonable doctor would have done. Apparently, She was not diligent enough. We talked to her about it nicely but she never apologize what she did or didn't. Very unprofessional. We NEVER recommend her to any dog owners. We left our old vet for what seemed hundreds of reasons, and booked an appointment with Dr. Yuka after a friend recommended her. She's so good with our dog - she doesn't sit on her "doctor's only" stool like some vets....she rolls around on the floor with our dog playing and visiting instead! She's very professional, always works with our budget and runs on time. When we made the difficult decision to put our younger dog to sleep, she helped our whole family through the process and even sent a handwritten note home the following day, expressing her sympathy and validating our choice. I have been a client at Pacific  vet center for 20 years or more.  my dogs love Dr Maria and Dr Yuka.  Dr Maria has been my vet for over 20 years.   I can never see using anyone else.  she is kind, caring and knowledgeable.   she spends whatever time she needs to with clients.  I think of her as a pediatrician you never give them up once you find a good one and she is the BEST.  Dr Yuka saved one of my dogs lives so you know she's number one in my book.  you cannot get better office staff than the ones at Pacific vet center.   when you call the office you can hear the smile on their faces and they are very happy to assist you with anything you need.  pacific veterinary Center is the best.  I wouldn't go anywhere else you shouldn't either Read Less

I came in last week because I was dog sitting and my mom's dog had had several pee accidents in the course of 24 hours.  I made an appointment for 5 pm.  I left work an hour early to make the appointment, as they had asked me me to show up 5-10 minutes early to fill out paperwork--OK.  So I arrived about 5 til, filled out the paperwork and proceeded to wait.  About 45 minutes later we finally got put into a room and then waited another 10 minutes to finally be seen.  There were lots of people coming in and out, it is a really busy place.  Too busy?  Please don't give me an appointment, ask me to come in early, and make me wait almost an hour telling me it'll just be a few minutes.  The staff is nice enough, and Dr. Akieda was a pleasure to work with.  But I have gone to other places with just as nice "staff" that doesn't make me wait more than 10-15 minutes.  My first visit here, but I don't think I'll go back.  At least the vet for my own dog doesn't try to give me an appointment if they're packed for the day--if I'm going to be treated like a walk-in, tell me to walk-in! We've been with Doc Maria for many years and love her. She is an excellent vet and very compassionate. When one of our dogs was gravely ill, she stayed overnight (her, not an assistant) to be there. We've had to let three dogs go because of painful arthritis in their old age, and Doc Maria was as teary eyed as we were as they went to sleep. We had been using the same vet for years and my 1 yr old kitty was exposed to virus from a kitten we adopted from the pound. We lost the kitten and if I had not gotten a 2nd opinion from Dr. Maria, we would have lost our 1 yr old. She uses homeopathic and regular prescription meds together. She is stuck with us now!!!
