The staff here are very friendly. The ladies up front are super busy, patient, and work really hard to fulfill everyones needs the best that they can. The facility is clean, they really care and call to check on your pets. In the beginning, I was a bit uncomfortable with a doctor (nothing major, just did not feel he/she was right for me and my pets) but they were cautious, called and listen to my concerns. Our family just boarded our 14 y/o pug for the first time ever.  We chose Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital because they do a fabulous job with our vet care.  We were nervous about it, but the service we received when we checked him in was terrific.  The staff was super friendly, accommodating, and comforting.  By the time we left, we were confident he was safe and in the right hands.Sampson has never been with anyone but friends and family, but with some minor health issues, that was no longer an option.  We booked him into one of the larger rooms where we knew he'd be more comfortable.He got his daily walks, plenty of cuddles and lots of attention.  When we picked him up, I think he was feeling like he might want to stay another day or two.  We've already booked him his room for our next trip later this summer.We highly recommend Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital for all your veterinary, grooming, and boarding needs! Our veterinarian, Dr. Crudgington, was amazing. If you've met my dog, Sally...You know she doesn't like strangers/people in general. Sally liked all the staff members at Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital! Which was really shocking. (She's a vocal/diva chihuahua/Jack Russel Terrier Mix) When we got home she had a spring in her step and wouldn't stop smiling. Our Dr. was also great with our new husky puppy. I've been taking my dog to PDAAH for many many years now. I like the new doctors but miss the ones that have left and retired. I should have left a review years ago but I'm glad to be writing this one now since I recently used their boarding facility for the first time last month (for two separate boarding stays). Both times I have reserved a cottage with web cam as my girl is a senior dog and while I was only physically away on one visit it's nice to be able to check in on her via webcam throughout her stay. Lisa the manager is awesome and amazing. Going above and beyond to make sure you are happy. I can say from personal experience that they would do anything to make sure your pet is well taken care of. I bring my shihtsu here regularly for grooming and vet visits.  I love this place, my dog is never nervous coming here and the hair cut she gets here is the best I've ever seen with very reasonable price.  I love bringing my dog here for grooming because they will update her shots if needed and they keep track of it as well.  I work full time so it's very convenient to leave her all day if I need to to when she gets groomed.  I've used the boarding services here as well and very pleased with Pet Keeper. I am so done with this place. We've been clients here since 2007. Over the years there's been so much change in management/staff that we've lost the engagement of this hospital as the medical home for our pets. We ran into poor customer service, not remembering who our pets are and 3 misdiagnoses of our dog who is special needs. We don't use this facility for medical care anymore. We only use this facility for grooming and boarding, which we were extremely happy with. The problem I would have to say is their front-desk. The people they hire for front desk service have poor customer service skills and are just oblivious to how they come off to clients. My husband usually schedules the appts to save me from having to tone my irritation. Today I tried scheduling a bath. I explained I wanted to schedule a bath and a summer cut for my dog. Right off the back she implied that they were all booked up advising they have a new groomer who is highly sought after. I know they have a new groomer. The old groomer came out to lobby area the last time we were there to formal tell us that he was leaving for a career opportunity in another field. For the record, we adore the grooming and boarding staff. So much so that every year we send the groomer gift cards and the boarding department gift baskets just because they were so kind to our pets. Please don't sell me on a new groomer I have yet to meet and tell me you don't have time for us irrespective that we've been clients since 2007. Today is the 10th. She proceeded to offer me an appointment on the 29th. I wouldn't go for two weeks without a bath, why on earth do these people think my dog needs a bath for 3 weeks. *** Just FYI* Most every vet sends reminders for vaccinations and routine preventative care services.  * Most every vet offers a military or senior citizen discount* Most every vet has same day appointments, be it some will charge an additional fee as typically only 2 appts slots are kept for emergencies.What doesn't fly is misdiagnoses and poor customer service. Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital has cared for my three dogs for as long as I can remember. Recently my eldest dog passed away but he received the most love and affection possible from an animal care provider at this Animal Hospital. My family has a love for the staff that we can find nowhere else and would trust no one else to care for our pets the way they have. I can't say enough good things about the staff here, especially Dr. Ogino. Everyone is so sweet. I am dogsitting my fur-niece and my sister let me know she had been limping for a couple of weeks.. so Aftera few days I decided to bring her in to get checked out (with my sisters permission of course). Although it is a knee issue and most likely will lead to surgery, I love that Dr. Ogino was able to recommend a few options first before we look into surgery, we are trying anti inflammatories first. Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital has been my dogs hospital since 2005. First with my Chocolate Labrador Coco and now with my Chihuahua-mix Jolie. They take the time needed to assess my pets condition, send reminders for needed exams and vaccinations, provide thorough explanations when making decisions on my pets course of treatment and most importantly always treat my dogs in a loving manner. Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital on Fujita in Torrance is amazing. They saw Prue, our Shetland Sheepdog, right away without an appointment! Free initial visit - caring veterinarian and lovely support staff. No waiting. Clean and comfortable private rooms for owners and pets. I was so impressed that we will definitely make this our "go to" vet for Nick and Lee's dogs. I haven't had a dog in close to 6 years. When we rescued Bear (3 year old German Shepherd), I took him to our old Vet for a well pet check. Our Vet we used previously was okay and very close to our home but if I needed to get Bear in for a same day appointment it was next to impossible. I suspected he had an ear infection and the next appointment I could get for him was a week out. I had heard about Plaza Del Amo from a dog trainer who mentioned that they did pet boarding as well. I called on Labor Day to see if I could get Bear in to get his ear checked and they called me first thing the next morning. I had him seeing Dr. Gharbawy (and now Bear's new Vet) within 90 minutes after my phone call. Upon arrival I was checked in by Priscilla and one of the Vet Techs was seeing us within 15 minutes. Elizabeth did a pre-check by asking the questions necessary and taking his temp (which he wasn't happy about). Dr. Gharbawy saw Bear within about a 10 to 15 minute wait got to know him and asked me more questions. She did the exam and an ear cytology (he wasn't happy with that either!). My suspicions were confirmed and he had a pretty nasty ear infection. I truly appreciated the time that Dr. Gharbawy spent getting to know my and Bear and felt truly comfortable with her. Upon checking out, I asked to visit their boarding facilities (Pet Keeper). Upon touring their boarding facilities and talking with several employees, I decided to board Bear there with them due to an upcoming trip. He stayed with them for 7 days. He received great care there. Every person that i have met at Plaza Del Amo Hospital and Pet Keeper, have been extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This office is incredible; I feel like I can trust them with my dog, 10-year-old 90-pound Rhodesian mix. Dr. Ghawby was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly to my senior dog. She called me for updates for his dental and gave me excellent advice for his care, including diet and supplements that could help his poor arthritic bones.  She took the time to tell me how much of the supplements is necessary for Dante.  Having been a vet technician for most of my teenage years and well into college years, I felt an overall respect and friendliness from all the staff here. Their rooms were kept incredibly clean (as I know how messy they can get). One downside is, they are rather busy (which is great because obviously, they do such a good job with our best friends), but that does not interfere with the obvious genuine care they provide our pets.I also met with the head groomer; I believe his name is Junior. Super helpful and knowledgeable, he put my mind to ease by telling me things that are included in a basic grooming package.The prices for everything were also very affordable, and very do-able.  When I got an estimate for places in the Northern California area, the prices were at least 3-4 times what I paid at Plaza Del Amo, and I'm sure the care wouldn't be NEARLY as good as it is at Plaza Del Amo.I know my Dante is in good hands here and only wish I lived here to access all the great amenities they offer... Or at least I wanted an animal hospital as comprehensive as this were where I am now. Read Less

We rescued a puppy and had no idea where to begin. We brought him to Plaza Del Amo and they were so helpful. The vet we met with was in no rush and explained thoroughly what we had in store for us. Being new puppies owners on a budget they really work with you on the best financial decisions and work with the companies for fleas, vaccinations for rebates and coupons. We have also had to leave out of town and we have left Milo at the facility which has turned out awesome. I have been going to Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital for 10+ years. Have taken all my pets there, and although changes have occurred throughout the years, and I'm down to one dog, I still go to Plaza Del Amo. It's easy to get any appointment, the doctors are great, as well as the reception staff. They also have boarding and grooming facilities on-site. Have used both & can't recommend them enough. Junior, their head groomer is the best! I absolutely do not know how he gets my Chorkie to stay still long enough to bathe him & give him his "summer" cut all year long. We have boarded our dog, Muna, there with Pet Keepers several times, and he has LOVED staying with them every time. I can tell because every time we go back, he greets the caregivers with enthusiasm, wagging his tail, leaning against their legs, and sitting on their feet, his way of expressing affection (not to mention lots of kisses, if they will let him). This enthusiasm extends to the medical care staff as well: recently we had to deal with a persistent bout of abdominal upset probably triggered by stress and a water and diet change from our move from the desert to the South Bay. The staff were very caring with Muna, caring and gentle, reassuring and careful to explain everything to me. The vet, Dr. Moeller, took extra time to sit down with me and discuss all the options for possible diagnoses from best to worst case scenarios, and different testing and treatment strategies. They gave me the information I needed to make informed decisions, and allowed me to make the best decisions I could afford given all the factors in our lives. I am happy to say that thanks to their care, Muna has returned to his normal bouncy good health, and in spite of his advanced age, we're looking forward to several more years with our happy, healthy dog!
