Dr. Cook is hands down the best! A sick kitten adopted us last November. After going to two other clinics who misdiagnosed and treated her we went to Tracy Vet. Since then our kitty, Penelope, has made a full recovery. Dr. Cook had to deliver the news that she was FIV positive. Although I was very upset, Dr. Cook made me feel at ease with the most current information on the disease and what that meant for our fur baby. We also recently adopted a 7 pound wire hair doxie who went to a different clinic 1st because of the rescue organization we adopted from. Oliver, our pup, had a lump under his eye, very flaky skin, and we couldn't tell if he had been neutered. Instead of telling us that we should run a bunch of tests that cost a ton of money, Dr. Cook again was able to tell us what two out of three of the problems were and for the third, cut the cost in half. Anytime I call, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I have even talked to Dr. Cook on the phone regarding a problem without any type of appointment and she talked to me and answered all of my questions. I just called this place to get some emergency help for 2 feral kittens I found... They wanted $60 per exam and $75 for each snap test. THAT IS INSANE. Also, the receptionist was the rudest I have ever dealt with. Wow. These people are creeps. Read Less

The entire staff was outstanding! I have a 16 week old pup that had a foxtail. The receptionists, veterinary tech and Dr Jim Matteson gave outstanding care to the pup, and explained (in detail) what likely happened and what to expect over the next period of time. Dr Matteson reviewed the alternatives and made a recommendation, which I accepted. .. start with antibiotics to see if that would help. The vet managed to do my dog's anal glads and shave him without putting him to sleep which is a miracle if you have met my dog. The only thing was that is was more expensive than I thought it would be which is why I am giving this vet 4 stars. Read Less

I was very nervous when I brought my dog in, to have her nails trimmed. I had tried 2 different places before and my dog was traumatized. I had taken her to a Veterinarian and a pet grooming business. Neither place was able to finish trimming her nails. I was told my dog was too nervous and they could not finish. When I brought her to your clinic, I was greeted by friendly staff, the technician who took my dog back, was very kind and understanding to my fear. This will forever be Ryder's vet. He liked Dr. Cook and the nurses. I have always battled at other vets with Ryder's behavior and today I saw a different side. He was still Alittle nervous but once he meet the ladies he turned into energetic dog that he is licks and all! I am so pleased with today's visit. I have a foster dog that is petrified of the vet. After trying other offices in town, I was traumatized. Absolutely horrible experience. Then I went to my Dr. Matteson at Tracy Vet Clinic. He did everything right. He listened to me, read the dog, and finally got him the care he needed. Turns out, the lump I thought was a cyst, was a tumor. I am so thankful for them. I went in to get my dog dewormed and was told that to bring the dog in so they can take a sample and instead my dog got a check up $59.00 . Now I got to pay for deworming separate another $59.00. The doctor was nice but given the information behind the desk was bad every body like to get prices and no one likes to be misled. The older lady told me she was sorry for the wrong information, but the dark Mexican was nice until I asked to get a discount on the deworming since I was misinformed then I seen her true nastiness come out and then tell me she was the who gave me the correct information yes that is correct after the facted I already paid for the doctor visit that I didn't need. Dog Loves don't get misinformed just don't go here! I will spread the word of mouth to others at the dog parks. And let just clarify this, it has nothing to do with the $$. When my husband and I were looking for a Veterinarian for our baby Simon we looked online and we found Tracy Vet with the best review on yelp. We took our Simon there and we did not make a mistake choosing the best veterinary in town. The staff are all nice and the doctors are the best . Simon just had an ACL surgery and Dr Matteson was so patient with him. Dr. Cook was the best too. We couldn't be happier for the care they give to our babies Simon and Pokie. I don't know how I missed this clinic! I love, love, love it!! We took our three furries there today for the first time. I am so impressed with Chantel (sp?), Dr. Cook and all the techs. These folks are so personable and helpful. They helped us carry our babies in and back out to the car. They talked to our little guys with soothing voices and were very gentle with them. I did not feel rushed or pressured to spend more money for things that were not at all necessary. My opinion mattered in the decisions that were made. I am so impressed and they now have a new customer for life!! Prior to finding this clinic we had taken two of our girls elsewhere for their last two visits and our new rescue to a vet a mile from our house for convenience sake. I decided to make them my new Vet after leaving Grantline due to a rapid decline in care. I was truly impressed by the level of care and time taken by the staff and Dr. Matteson. The reviews are right, he truly is the best! I was so impressed that I will also be taking our 3rd dog in as well! I called to get an estimate for a spay for our new 5-month old female kitten that has not gone into heat yet. I was told 489 DOLLARS and some cents. I couldn't believe it. Almost $500 for a surgery that is considered by most to be necessary, if not minor and routine? The lady I spoke to tried to justify it by saying that they would do blood work, have an IV, a round-the-clock tech to watch her, etc...which I could understand if they were doing, say, an organ transplant. But it's a spay! Nothing else! I gave two stars instead of one because the lady was willing to work with me and contact a previous vet's office to get bloodwork that I'd already had done. That's much appreciated. It's sad, because I had it on good authority that this place was a very good place to take my pet, and now it seems like it's heading the direction of Old River and Jules - shut your mouth and open your wallet.Read Less
