Old River VCA is by far the best Vet in Tracy and surrounding areas. If you want your fur baby to have the best care you need to switch and bring them into this amazing and compassionate staff. When you're scared for your baby the last thing you need is to wonder if they are getting the best care. The veterinarians always have a game plan with treatment. They never run a test if it's not necessary which I love because my previous place was always charging me for ridiculous things I later found out was harmful to my pet.
Recently our Labrador retriever had a serious spinal cord injury. And though Old River is not a 24hr vet. Once they opened the Dr. called me right away to let me know the importance of getting him to a neurologist for an MRI. They have reached out to check in on him and help relieve my anxiety. They fit me into an already booked schedule. Words can not express the gratitude I have for every staff member at Old River.
The piece of mind, quality of care and overall compassion is what Old River provides to me and all my fur babies. If you are looking for the BEST! that's exactly what Old River is.

"VCA Old River Animal hospital and this one are one in the same?"
We used to go to another veterinarian on Grant Line but changed because they didn't have boarding services. This veterinary hospital has cared for our dogs ever since and also board them when we are away on our frequent excursions.
This veterinarian's expenditures are also extraordinary high (In my opinion) but what can you do? It's just going to have to come down to, "how much you love your animal and what you can afford!" Not that many places to go here in town and they can pretty much name their prices!
With that being said, I've never had a bad experience here, other than on one occasion which really wasn't a bad experience other than to say they were "uncompassionate." Telling this story brings back a lot of emotions but here goes...
I brought our old dog ("Sandy" our yellow lab) down because she was old and wasn't able to walk or get around. When she no longer had control of her bowels "we had to make that very difficult decision to put her down and of course that was left up to me."
I dreaded the "final" ride down to the vet with our dog that's been in our family for what seems like an eternity and now it came to this. I also couldn't bring myself to look into her eyes for that final trip!
I had to carry her in and set her down while I spoke with the receptionist. After telling her what I was there for, she had me wait awhile then called my name. "She wanted me to be with my dog while they put her to sleep..." I couldn't bring myself to watch our dog go and got emotional.
What irritated me was without skipping a beat; they wanted payment for their services, which I can appreciate, but at this moment.....? "Give me a break!"
I was losing my dog and they wanted payment. Yaaa, OK.
Since I was a regular, I just told them to bill me and left! I was pretty "peeved off" at their inconsiderateness but got over it. The staff here is courteous and the doctors are knowledgeable and they continue to give our dogs the best care possible.
We brought our black lab in recently because of leg problems and the bill for her care was high but essential.
We continue to put our faith in this animal hospital because they have looked after our animals in "their best interest."

I havent been there but it looks amazing i just got a puppy i was told by the recent owner that the puppy needs three vaccinations nd other shots i think i live near this animal hospital im in need to get this puppy healthy please be able to help me my family isn't rich but we aren't poor but i really would like to get the shots my puppy for less i dont want her to get a disease or anything else please check out my puppy and see what she needs i am hoping it wont cost so much

Old River VCA is by far the best Vet in Tracy and surrounding areas. If you want your fur baby to have the best care you need to switch and bring them into this amazing and compassionate staff. When you're scared for your baby the last thing you need is to wonder if they are getting the best care. The veterinarians always have a game plan with treatment.
