Our dog was in extreme pain and having difficulty walking. We just moved to the area and had not established ourselves with a local vet yet. My wife used to manage a vet clinic, so we are very familiar with the industry. We took our shepherd mix Sunny here after calling and I was quite pleased! They fit me in same day even with a full schedule with minimal waiting and the price was very fair (especially for a mountain vet), the staff was extremely compassionate, and we will be returning to them as our primary vet. I bring all of my pets here. 2 dogs, 1 cat, and this place is my go to. They are fast, friendly, and affordable! The facility is clean and accommodating. The reason for only 4 starts is because it is extremely hard to get ahold of them via phone and I find it a little odd that every time we go my dogs see someone different. At previous vets we always saw the same vet and just different vet techs. All in all though, this place is great. I love having them close by for all of our vet needs. Read Less

I was very impressed and grateful to have found Doctors Office for Pets when my 5 month old puppy had unexplained facial swelling that didn't respond to Benedryl. They got me in quickly, took prompt action that worked and the cost was very reasonable. The facility is easy to get to and clean. It was my one year old pup's first day getting to play in the snow. I was visiting my parents and my dog and their dog were having a blast-until my dog ripped one of her nails pretty good. Minimal bleeding but I could see that the nail was hanging and at an angle, and my dog was not letting my near her paw. So I called Doctor's, and they made me an appt for that day. My experience from when I walked in to when we left was simply the best service. Someone immediately got my info at the front desk, and within minutes we were in an exam room with the vet, Gina. I felt like the staff listened to my concerns and my recount of the experience attentively. Gina discussed options and outcomes, and we decided on mild sedation so they could take care of my furchilds nail. When all was done, someone took the time to sit with me and go over the procedure that was done, and answer my questions. I never felt rushed at any time. My dog still wagged her tail with the staff when we were leaving, which I felt said a lot. If my dog is still happy to see people even after an unpleasant experience for her, then they have my complete trust and confidence in them. Read Less

I starting going to the Doctor's Office for pets about 3 years ago when a good friend's dog bit my dog. They are my vet now and I will always go to them.Every single member of the staff is friendly and helpful and when I had to put my dog down, extremely compassionate I discovered. (the girls working that day tried to hide that they were crying too) Dr Kang walked me through all the options for my dog and took great care to follow up on his treatment. Had an issue with our Lab puppy while up at Tahoe and was able to get a same day appointment.  Very friendly staff and doctor.  Not a long wait and very modern office. ended up coming back for a second visit for a different issue later in the week and both times the charges were very reasonable and diagnosis was right on and saved us from what some offices could have charged for unneeded services.  We will now be bringing all three of our dogs to this office for our regular vet rather than our current vet in the Bay area since we are in Tahoe often.  Saturday office make this very easy. The vets are careful and conscientious. They carefully review test results with you and will refer you to the vet teaching hospital at Davis when appropriate. For me this is important as I have 3 cats with serious chronic and acute conditions that need specialist care sometimes. It is important that one's vet office knows when it is time to refer you to Davis and is really good about working with them and getting records to them. Prices are very reasonable and downright inexpensive when compared with other vet offices around Truckee and especially when compared with the pharmacies in Truckee. They will fill prescriptions for my cats sent from Davis much cheaper than the local pharmacies or the other Truckee vets.Staff is great, nice and thorough. It is a no frills practice which is why they can keep their prices down... They know that what is important is the quality of care and not  a fancy building or fancy furniture. Read Less

We have three large dogs and needed health certificates for a last min flight. I called the Vet we used a few times and they told us they could do it but would charge for an emergency check up. When I found out it was more than double the reg check up I called around and Animal Outpatient they fit us in and charged us a small fee.  It was more than half of the other vet.  They gave us extra papers in case we lost any and told us to call them if we need anything for the flight.  They were very nice and pleasant to work with.   We switched vets and could not be happier.Thank you AOCC! A class act from start to finish. My border collie needed shots and general checkup. Dr. Bloomfield played with my dog, giving her treats, seeing how she responded to his touches. Wait, he's fully assessing her with neither me nor my dog knowing it. Amazing bedside manner.When he realized that I had an interest in the sciences, he then went into the science of what he was doing and his profession in general including why it is important to have my dog's teeth cleaned. Hint: it has next to nothing to do with cosmetics and so much to with bacteria entering the blood stream and causing inflammation of the kidneys and heart.I just wish my human doctor had his touch. Dr Bloomfield is amazing!  He takes the time to get on the floor with your dog and make him/her feel at home and relaxed.  An exam is more like a full body massage.  Dr B is incredibly well educated and takes the time to discuss your dog's health and make sure you feel comfortable with and are an active participant in all decisions.  I can't say enouh wonderful things about Dr B and his staff! Can't imagine there is a more caring veterinarian than Dr. Bloomfield.  He lovingly and skillfully cared for my dog.  With great compassion he helped my dog through some tough illnesses and then was able to talk with me through my numerous questions.  The staff in the office is helpful and friendly and knows you and your pet by name. Dr. Brooks Bloomfield is just the best vet in Truckee and I've tried most of them. He is very thorough, gentle and very loving. He's found things on my feline girls that their previous vet missed. His exams are very hands on. He uses vaccines that don't make my girls ill afterwards (vaccines used by other vets have always put my girls off food for 24 hours afterwards.) He seems to know just the right amount of care, when to monitor for awhile and when to treat immediately. My cats get lots of love, kisses and cuddles from him whenever they visit... He is a very caring and demonstrative vet with them and very patient with me. Read Less
