Absolutely awful experience. They lost my pet records when they were first sent over. And now back to back days my dogs have waited with me in car, in heat, over 40 min each day before finally giving up and going home. I understand Covid has made things crazy but this is insane. They don’t provide an adequate timeframe for how far past your appt you’re looking at. Stay away from this vet!

Our 2yr old pit swallowed a fish hook and it was lodged in his throat. Dr. Heers found it in the very first xray he took and immediately sedated him to see if he could reach it without endoscopy or surgery. He had the hook removed in less than 20 minutes! Dr. Heers is an ANGEL and his love for animals shows in every way! Thank you Cross Street Animal Veterinary! Thor and our family are forever grateful and pray many blessings over all of you

So I can't claim extensive knowledge of this location. My one trip there was to pick up a refill of a prescription my dog had prior to my adopting her. They were helpful and accomodating in helping me however I needed to get my big girl her meds in a timely manner. I appreciated that, especially when every vet in my hometown couldn't refill the prescription without an appointment, and couldn't take an appointment until over a week out! So grateful to them!

Our dachshund puppy got into a brillo pad with very toxic chemical cleaner on it. It poisoned him and we didn't even know it. The worst part was, we had no idea it was obstructing his intestinal tract...
Our dachshund puppy got into a brillo pad with very toxic chemical cleaner on it. It poisoned him and we didn't even know it. The worst part was, we had no idea it was obstructing his intestinal tract. Dr. Heers, at Cross Street Veterinary read an x-ray and said that he saw something that looked like wire and suggested surgery. He suggested to get it done asap and referred us to a clinic in Fresno but advised it was going to be very costly (around $3000 or more). Dr. Heers did the surgery himself for a fraction of the cost, and treated our puppy with the greatest care. He is truly an amazing veterinarian and we are very lucky to have him here in our own backyard. It turned out that the brillo pad was clogging 5 inches of his intestine and could have killed our puppy in a matter of days. We are forever grateful for Dr. Heers and his amazing staff, the vet techs, they are all so warm and welcoming. Although the circumstances that brought us in are not so great, we are happy to have gone through Cross Street Veterinary clinic. I would recommend them to everyone and anyone. Prices are also very reasonable, and you can tell that they just love what they do. That is what keeps my family and I going back. The amazing service and staff. We cannot thank them enough for saving our puppy's life.

The best vet ever! I have a Great Pyrenees who has had a chronic ear infection problem for years. Dr Heers has been treating him for a several months now and we have made amazing progress keeping his ear maintained. I had been going to a vet in Visalia and it was so expensive to have his ear checked it made it hard to follow up. Dr Heers has stopped the infection and is giving us medication to keep it gone! He also had a consulting ear and allergy specialist he could call in if needed. My exam and ear swab was 66.00 dollars... I wish I had gone here years ago!

Absolutely the BEST VET IN TULARE COUNTY! My poor fur baby was in pain and had a fever. I called every single Vet clinic in Visalia and everyone was booked. Since it was a Friday, vets mostly schedule surgeries on that day. In desperation I started calling out of town Vets. I called Cross Street and explained what was wrong with my cat (for the 6th time that day) and they were the only ones willing to squeeze in time in between surgeries to check out my baby. We were in and out within 10min and got my cat the antibiotics he needed! Thank you so much Dr. Heers And staff for saving my fur baby!

My family has taken all of our many cats and dogs to Dr. Heers over the years. He has always been extremely gentle with our animals and is very compassionate. He genuinely cares about our pets. We have had to put a handful of our pets to sleep over the years, and he makes the situation as comfortable as possible. I think some people are afraid of bills that come with Vet visits, but I understand it is part of being a responsible pet owner, and I really think he is very fair with his prices. I wouldn't take our animals anywhere else, unless an emergency arose outside normal business hours. He has a way of making even our most timid or bratty pets feel comfortable. I highly recommend Cross Street Vet!

So I contacted them put the cat in my name she is getting the help she needs fluids and meds very grateful they did this for her. Sorry to say I went to this vet but that mistake will never happen again. As a vet with a license he didn't know a thing about are puppy. He claimed she had worms that's why she was skinny, then claimed she had parvo & was going to die & made us buy shots he claimed she needed. At the front desk they tried to over change me which I caught & the lady was very rude & upset that I said something & made her fix it (the price was outrageous in the first place). Once we left we went else were found out are puppy didn't need any of the shots the other Dr gave her & that all was wrong with her was she was depressed due to her mama dying (we told the other Dr. but he didn't seem to want to listen or even care what we said). A week later the rude lady at the front desk called me & demanded that I bring are puppy in for a check up, I told her they can't demanded me to go there & that we have a better vet & never to call me again.

Best Vet ever! A car rolled over my basset hounds hind legs and broke her hip. I went to 6 different vets and none would treat her and referred us to UC Davis. Feeling hopeless my husband tried one more that his coworker swore by. He stopped Dr. Heers in the parking lot after work, showed him a picture of the x-ray and he immediately put us at ease saying he had done many of those type of procedures. Explained everything thoroughly and told him to bring her first thing in the morning. The staff was SO nice and I was surprised to see how clean everything was. Long story short... we can't even tell which leg was even injured! :)

The assistant at the front of the office gave me the ultimatum that I had to get my pup fixed in a month "or else". I only took her there for a post adoption check up and to get her kennel cough treated. She was also underweight. Last I checked it wasn't a good idea to put a sick underweight dog through that kind of stress and surgery so fast and having them spayed or neutered was the owners choice. The vet, a DVM Richard Heers COMPLETELY ignored our concerns and was more interested in getting us to buy crap that wasn't relevant or needed. I'm NEVER bringing any of my babies back to this hell hole. I guess first clue was the place being a ghost town when I walked in.

My dog and cats have been treated by Dr. Heers and his staff for the past three years. Dr. Heers is patient, thoughtful, and kind. He shares his knowledge and expertise so that the patient (pet owner) becomes educated about a medical/health issue. He has also done home-visits in emergency situations where I was unable to get my dog to his clinic: I don't know of another veterinarian who would do this.

Sorry to say I went to this vet but that mistake will never happen again. As a vet with a license he didn't know a thing about are puppy. He claimed she had worms that's why she was skinny, then claimed she had parvo & was going to die & made us buy shots he claimed she needed. At the front desk they tried to over change me which I caught & the lady was very rude & upset that I said something & made her fix it (the price was outrageous in the first place). Once we left we went else were found out are puppy didn't need any of the shots the other Dr gave her & that all was wrong with her was she was depressed due to her mama dying (we told the other Dr. but he didn't seem to want to listen or even care what we said). A week later the rude lady at the front desk called me & demanded that I bring are puppy in for a check up, I told her they can't demanded me to go there & that we have a better vet & never to call me again.

Best Vet ever! A car rolled over my basset hounds hind legs and broke her hip. I went to 6 different vets and none would treat her and referred us to UC Davis. Feeling hopeless my husband tried one more that his coworker swore by. He stopped Dr. Heers in the parking lot after work, showed him a picture of the x-ray and he immediately put us at ease saying he had done many of those type of procedures. Explained everything thoroughly and told him to bring her first thing in the morning. The staff was SO nice and I was surprised to see how clean everything was. Long story short... we can't even tell which leg was even injured! :)

The assistant at the front of the office gave me the ultimatum that I had to get my pup fixed in a month "or else". I only took her there for a post adoption check up and to get her kennel cough treated. She was also underweight. Last I checked it wasn't a good idea to put a sick underweight dog through that kind of stress and surgery so fast and having them spayed or neutered was the owners choice. The vet, a DVM Richard Heers COMPLETELY ignored our concerns and was more interested in getting us to buy crap that wasn't relevant or needed. I'm NEVER bringing any of my babies back to this hell hole. I guess first clue was the place being a ghost town when I walked in.

My dog and cats have been treated by Dr. Heers and his staff for the past three years. Dr. Heers is patient, thoughtful, and kind. He shares his knowledge and expertise so that the patient (pet owner) becomes educated about a medical/health issue. He has also done home-visits in emergency situations where I was unable to get my dog to his clinic: I don't know of another veterinarian who would do this.
