(Disgusting) They took such advantage of my mom and dad who are in there 80s. Brought there 4 lb kitten in for treatment had for one day told them he had to be put down charged them 1000 dollars plus Talk about totally taken advantage of. First time here, Great Overall Experience! I was able to get same day appt. when I called. Great customer service by everyone. The Doctor and her assistant both answered All of my questions, concerns and they even broke down all payment info. And explained each item that I was going to need for my pets. From my experience they have always been nice to me and my pets. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because every appointment I've had they have gotten my pets in late by 15-30min past my scheduled time. It hasn't mattered if I show up on time or early- they run late. Also it is slow once they do get you in a room. I always plan to be at the vet for at least 1.5- 2 hours for a general check-up. The female veterinarian (who never introduced herself so I don't know her name) was pretty much cold-hearted and without empathy. When I asked her questions about the estimate she gave me, which was for blood work for my cat, she just told me she couldn't help me until I agreed to the blood test. When she went inside, her assistant was serving as an intermediary while adding on all kinds of treatments to the quote (Why didn't she just talk to me herself?). I asked if she could give me a little discount if I got all the exams done (getting close to $400 for tests I still had no answers to), and she called me unreasonable... A simple 'no' would have sufficed. What took the cake was when the vet was alone with me and told me she couldn't help me and told me to leave. I asked her to be a little more empathetic since this has never happened to my cat before and that just because she didn't care about my cat, I did. She said, "Don't you dare say that! This is my livelihood!" while pointing her finger at me less than 5 inches from my face. I was already in tears by that point and I just felt more distraught after that. Plus, I was backed into the corner so I felt even more threatened. All in all, I do not recommend going to this vet clinic unless you and your pet want to be verbally abused. Read Less

Awesome clinic. I took my puppy that I adopted from the pound who was sick when we go him. They examined him and fixed him right up. He was lethargic, nauseous, and just plain feeling bad. He is a 3 month old jack Russell so I knew something was wrong. After two days of antibiotics my boy was up and running around. The price was just right and fair too. If I could put zero stars I would! WORST VETS! How did they get their jobs? How hasnt this place shut down? God give me answers. First off we took my dog Bcuz we noticed he kept crying and crying and his body would curve a certain way. They gave him medication, we figured it would work, no, went back gave him a stronger medication & sed he would be so much better after this, no, took him back! Asked them the options Bcuz they obviously can't figure it out & told us he's gonna have to have surgery on his knee that would be $2,000 dollars. We wanted a second opinion and took him to the one on Cross. And took X-rays, right away the vet knew it had nothing to do with his knees or anything with his back legs. It was infection in his tummy. Imagine if we did that pointless thousand dollar surgery to get nothing fixed?? Another situation! We took my other dog there in January, I repeat January, she was peeing blood & had crystals in her bladder & told us we needed to get her into surgery. Took her in for surgery & they stitched her up. We asked when we needed to bring her back to get the stitches out & they sed "these stitches will dissolve on their own" here we are now end of July stitches still here. We bring her to the one on cross because why would we bring our dog back here, and they told us the stitches were stainless steel & needed to be removed a long time ago! They were stuck in her skin & that the surgery wasn't even needed, she could've had antibiotics to make them dissolve! Thank god for the vets on cross. I recently took my pup there and the vet removed 2 foxtails from each of her nostrils. The staff is very pleasant and the vet is amazing. She gave me very good advise on a couple of different things. I took my cat that wasn't even a year old in to see the vet because he hurt his back leg, and refused to walk at all. I told the vet that he had fleas (we live in the country) and that he was extremely sensitive to the flea shampoos (we could only leave it on for 1minute) he was extremely lethargic for a week afterwards, so we use dawn dish soap. So they vet blamed his injury on the fleas. After insisting on an xray they took it and he had a slight fracture in his upper thigh. They have him capstar to get the fleas off and told me he wouldn't have the same reaction. We had also bought revolution for our other cats. The vet put the flea drops on my cat without thinking of his allergy. When they brought him back to us I think he was having a seizure in the office but they ignored it and have him pain meds. We took him home and he died about 3 hrs. later from a seizure that was caused by the flea drops. Read Less

I love this place! Staff I'd very friendly and caring! Jennifer and Monique make it very easy to talk to them and schedule appointments or ask questions. I've always felt welcome. They take care of my pets and my needs. For a dfew years we struggled with what was wrong with my dog and they recommended doing a allergy panel, and it found out that his allergies were the cause of all of it! We took our elderly cat to this vet office and the vet that saw him was very rough with him. Then told us that we could pay 1,800 dollars for treatment or put him down and also told us that he was so sick that he would probably die even with treatment. We did not choose either option and instead took him to another vet. Today, three years after our terrible experience with this vet, our cat is still alive and well at 18 years old. In addition to the terrible way our pet was handled we are now being fraudulently charged for services that we did not receive. There are several vets that work at this clinic, and I am sure some of them are wonderful, however the vet that saw us that day happens to also be the owner of Tulare Veterinary Hospital. We are looking at our legal options and will be reporting this vet to the veterinary board. Beware! Read Less

My pooch Ginger is alive because of the quick response from Tulare Veternary. They had me take her in within the hour. As soon as we got there we were greeted with a nice staff that were very caring. Gingers examination was done, and they explained that she was going to need a procedure. We were expected back to pick her up in the late afternoon. While at home, I was very nervous and anxious, and within a few hours I received a call and they told me that Ginger was doing well! That call made my day. We went to pick up Ginger when expected. Not sure where all these negative reviews are about. I'm sorry for the people who have had bad experiences there. I think with something like this, people only tend to review only services they're unhappy with. I moved out here from PA in August and my dog had a uti during the drive. I called the next morning after I arrived and they fit me right in. My dog was geriatric with diabetes and arthritis, and anytime I called that she was having a problem, they fit me right in. Everyone from the receptionists, to techs, to dr. Anthony were fantastic with her. I had to put my dog down 2 weeks ago, not only were they wonderful with my family, myself and my dog during the process, I also received a sympathy card signed by the staff, with my dog's paw print on it after. The lady was very rude and said I would have to put my daughter on my care credit account,or come in my self. mind you i live 3 hours away. Other wise they could not take that payment. First let me start by saying the staff is wonderful! But the vet I will NEVER take my dog there agion . I took my dog because she was having seizures she is 4 years old. Got in to see the vet she ask a few questions then tried to touch my dog who was right next to me. My dog tried to bite her she run out of the room and never came back ,her skin was never broke! Then one of the nice staff girls whom my dog did not try to bite. Took the dog somewhere I couldn't see she gave the dog back to me and said the dog may or may not have a foxtail in her ear( my yard has no fox tails ) and I would have to pay 500 dollars to put her to sleep to find out. Nothing about the seizures she was having.plus I had to pay 50 dollars just for the bite! Gave me meds for 63 dollars for ear drops. Altogether I paid 158$ to talk to the staff! This dog is groomed all the time she has NEVER tried bite anyone! Ever!! I will NEVER take my dog back there EVER!!! So where do I begin!? My dog had this horrible cough so I brought him in. I told them that he has been coughing and THEY HEARD HIM COUGH because he was coughing in the examination room! I was scared that he had something stuck in his throat because this happened out of no where. He was also throwing up red the night before. So the vet said "well it may be kennel cough but I'm not sure." She insisted to take X-rays to make sure nothing was stuck in there. Once the X-ray were done she then said "well I can't really tell or see in his throat." And then she said, she didn't know if it was kennel cough. WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?!? Your suppose to be the "expert" here. Then I went back in the waiting room to where I was kicked out in the 100 degree weather because my dog was contagious!!! ONE: I Thought they didn't know "what was wrong." Because they never diagnosed him with anything. Then when they did X-rays on him they had stretched him out to where his incision on where he JUST GOT NEUTERED opened Back up!! I told one of the assistance and she said it wasn't them and he's just scabbing. When I took him in 2 hours before I got there it was NOT BLEEDING AND NOT LIKE THAT until after they handled him in the back where I can not see obviously!! I rather drive my happy self somewhere else. But since this place opened up it was more of a connivence. But nope forget that. Never again. I should have listened to the first review on yelp. I have been regularly taking my dogs to Tulare Veterinary Hospital for years to get routine shots, then recently took one of them there to get some Rimadyl after aspirin and glucosamine where no longer helping with his arthritis. The young vet tried to charge $1000 to do a work-up on the arthritis (labs, X-rays) before even considering providing treatment!! It cost me $44 for a visit, and she did not provide any medications or advice. I've decided to take my animals to more experienced vets from now on, one's who have the clinical skills to make a diagnosis and don't rely on hugely expensive tests before writing a cheap prescription.
