They are a big facility so they offer a lot but they don’t offer customer service or personal attention. We have been going to them for years and watched them grow as our animal family grew and you would think they would remember where they started and employ people that are friendly and courteous. Checking in is so confusing, one time you might be rudely directed to the impersonal tablets while you are wrestling your purse and animal, then the next your being snapped at because you don’t need to! Would someone just explain when I can talk to one of the many people behind the counter and when I’m not? It’s kinda embarrassing as an adult to get snapped at in front of a large group of people. We took our pivot here after she was diagnosed with stomach cancer, after a few other vets said she was an impossible case to treat. The staff an vets we so amazing!! Dr. Santos is absolutely amazing and she loved him. Under his care we got 4 extra months with our baby girl. When It came time to put her down he was very supportive and sensitive . Great with your fur babies. Just sad how expensive any vet care can be now. They now have much better service hours. Later afternoons and Saturdays. Sometimes the wait can be longer than I like , but I guess it's because it's a popular place. I have been coming here for quite a few years now, and know that they seem to keep up with most of the lastest in pet, medical care. It is difficult for my parents to communicate because of the very little English they speak. Totally disappointed with this facility! Their boarding rates are high. My dog went in perfectly healthy! When I picked her up she left the building immediately having diarrhea and vomiting. I told the facility immediately and they told me just stress from being boarded. My dog has been boarded in other facilities and there has never been any problem! Took her home and the condition continued for 5 days! Took her back and they charged me $343.00 for a blood test only to determine there is "nothing wrong in her blood'. I called them randomly one time because I needed advice on possible animal abuse that I had just witnessed. They gave great advice and were very happy to help, and Officer Butler with animal control came and rescued a puppy from horrible conditions. Furthermore, they've been there for my family and I multiple times, for multiple pets, for many, many years. They're always nice, always comforting, always know what to say. I have taken both of our family dogs here and have had nothing but great experiences! My first dog received her vaccinations and spay surgery here and 6 years later is healthy as can be. We just brought in our new puppy for her first checkup a few weeks ago as well. Dr. Davis was amazing and I could really see her love for animals! So we've always had good experiences at MV animal hospital but this time, they were a life saver. As many of us know, City of Turlock animal Svcs has been going around knocking on doors, and we got cited for our two little dogs not being licensed. Unbeknownst to me MV hospital provides this service!! We took our little guys and got their license paperwork squared away. Now I've been trying to get a hold of city of Turlock animal services to show them the paperwork, but they always close earlier than what their hours say online or on their door.  Anyway, I'm glad MV Animal hospital helped us with this, like many other times. :) Read Less

Don't be fooled by all the nice decorative, and new technology.  When it comes down to it I have never received a proper diagnosis for my pets or the right care.  One was obviously in pain, she looked at him and said he was okay, and was sent home.  He died.  They will not give you a recipe to shop elsewhere like 800-PetMeds but instead are trained to bad mouth it to reap the expensive prices.  Also, blood work is always recommended but if you can't afford it they will make you feel like they can't help because they need the blood work.  This I know because every single time the same talk.  In one case I did opt for blood work because we wanted to know since it was an older cat.  When the results came in they never went over them with us.The check up is cheap but that is a hook for expensive prices.  Pro:  They are almost always open for walk in's, late and weekends.  If you know a doctor then ask for him or her.  Also, if you tell the doctor (not the people up front) how much you have to spend they may be nice to waiver follow up costs, which however, is now standard in some places. Where do I start? From the lovely staff to the amazing whole hearted vets that give you their 100% I could NOT be happier with a vet clinic. Monte vista took in my dog as an emergency because she was mauled by a huge husky at the lathrop dog park. She had two staples, put on antibiotics, pain meds and was examined. If you have good credit I suggest applying for their credit care it made it possible to afford this traumatic situation. Thank you Tessa for always welcoming my dachshunds and myself as soon as we step in the room! Love love love this place and it is so worth the drive from Manteca... might even move to Turlock just so I can be closer!!!! I'm new to town so I wanted to find a nice clinic for my pets. I walked in this past weekend with a few questions. I waited a few minutes to be greeted. The young Asian girl was very pushy, it seemed like she just wanted me to leave. She rolled her eyes at me a few times, and I just felt extremely unwelcomed. My pet cat Benji has been coming here since he was only weeks old. I like the veterinarians at this clinic; super nice and very knowledgeable. They answer any questions you have for them. Also, take their time when in the exam room, they don't rush through appointments. The office ladies are also nice and usually quick with the checking in and checking out process. Sometimes it takes awhile to check out, but they get SUPER busy sometimes so its understandable. Never had a bad experience. Highly recommend this clinic. Good on prices as well!!! The office was amazing in our little dogs emergency situation!!! We took in a stray in December who was pregnant, when puppies were 4 weeks old (Sophie) our little strays name, started having convulsions couldn't walk throwing up and screaming in pain , rushed her here without calling ahead, walked in at 7 am expecting the worst, they immediately took her from my arms without a bunch of questions and went to work stabilizing her. Long story short she had eclampsia ( milk fever) her body was depleted of all calcium from her pups, they kept her for the day and Dr Marks called me throughout the day without my prompting to keep me updated. Our visit yesterday was top notch. Dr Estrada was recommended to us so I had asked for her. We have a 8 week old puppy and they totally exceeded our expectation. While in the lobby, a dog was brought in that was sick with a cough. Immediately we thought we don't want our baby sick. Sure enough before we knew it they had asked the pet owner with the sick dog to wait in the car and they would come out and get them. All of us in the lobby were relieved although we fell bad the dog was sick. Dr Estrada addressed our questions and her answers made complete sense. She immunized our Lil guy before he knew it... We started going here about a year ago after finally tiring of the other major vet in Turlock (front desk issues, pricing, vet changes, and other issues). We have never regretted it. We can always get an appointment, their prices are fair and comparable to other places, they have helped us at no charge with an issue that was reoccurring with some kittens we were fostering, and love that they loved Thelma and have a Vet Cat in the Blue Building. To our surprise not only was the puppy package super cheap the staff and crazy parrot were very nice and continue to provide great customer service on each visit. They make our drive in from Ceres/Modesto worth it. They are located next door to the DMV so they are very easy to find. I am extremely saddened that my cousin's dog was spayed and then she was told the dog was in heat when in fact the breeder (my sister) knew otherwise. Then to make her pay extra without even giving her a cone to keep the dog from worrying at the stitches is just too much. I used to recommend you highly to all of my buyers when I sold German Shepherds in California. I would never willingly do so again. We had to say goodbye to our longtime friend of 14.6 years, so we scheduled our appointment. We chose Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital because the cost of euthanasia and a private cremation was very reasonable. The private cremation is actually what sold us, we wanted to be sure we got all of our Harry back and not some of him and some of someone else. We got there and amist all my tears we were ushered into a private room. I was expecting a cold regular exam room and was pleasantly surprised by the room. It was designed for the family and this purpose. It was calm, cozy and private. I must say this was comforting to me. The staff was nothing but kind and gentle. Won't be bringing our dog back here after his microchip since they can't seem to keep accurate records or schedule appointments correctly. They also will be losing my parents as a customer based off my experiece here. The health of my dog was definitely not a priority to them today as tech gave him shots when he was supposed to be seen by the vet to make sure he didnt have an intestinal problem prior to being given his last set of shots! If I had not purchased the puppy plan with microchip, I would take him elsewhere immediately. Monte Vista Small animal hospital is amazing! We have been bringing our furry family members to these people for the full 15 years that we have lived here and we have nothing but awesome experiences with them. One of the best but heartbreaking experiences we had was when our beloved collie was at the end of her her life they made her passing so beautiful and beyond respectful. I don't know how they do what they have to do, but they truly are earth angels there. Today was no different, I witness a dog hit by a car that never stopped and Monte Vista vet was more than helpful! I scooped up the dog and it's loyal furry friend that never left it's side and took them there. They had the owners on the phone and both dogs out of my vehicle in less than 5 minutes. I don't know the outcome yet but they did all they could and more. They are truly a class act over there. I had called another vet hospital close by first and they told me if I didn't take responsibility for them they would have to euthanize the injured one or I could call Stanislaus County. REALLY? I got my first real chance at raising a dog as my own back in June, navi was a husky Shepard mix and I brought her here for all her shots and to get fixed, just last week after having her for about 4 months she got loose in her harness and ran into traffic on golden state and I lost her. This place took care of everything when I could barely even speak. I just received the card with their hand written condolences and it helped a lot. Wonderful experience with Dr. Wu. She was very caring and informative. She was very sweet and our dogs Blu and Yoshi did great with their vaccinations and examines. She was late to our appointment due to some surgeries that ran long but offered us complementary nail trims for the dogs. Very accommodating! Yoshi has a little mass near her eye and Dr. Wu was very helpful in giving us the info we needed. And the tech who helped us (didn't get her name) was awesome, super nice and friendly with our dogs. I took my dog in to Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital last week because his breathing was abnormal. The veterinarian took X-rays and determined that he had fluid around his lungs. She drained the fluid and sent it out for testing and told us it would take 1 day. THREE days later I get a call saying the results didn't tell us anything and to take my dog to a specialist for more testing. Timing was everything in this case. I can't say enough positive and wonderful things about everyone at MVSAH. I have been with Dr Marks for over 25 years and have been with MVSAH since the beginning. I always recommend them to everyone I deal with in greyhound and dachshund adoptions. The staff have always been there for me in good times and in bad...especially during the hard and difficult times when we have had to let a family member run free to the "Rainbow Bridge". Dr Marks, Dr Santos and Dr Lee have been there for me after hours via text, phone call or private message...you can't ask for more than that! I am not one that easily leaves any of my dogs anywhere, since I can do most basic veterinary work myself, but I will trust the staff and Dr's at MVSAH anytime. They have always taken great care of my quirky dogs, which are retired racing greyhounds. The Dr's are also very eager to learn more about the special needs of this breed of dog. Every time I give them new information, they are so receptive and eager to read it and learn more about it. I am devastated, I trusted them with my babies life and now I feel I failed my baby for not protection him.... I WILL NEVER ever NEVER return to Monte Vista and have told everyone I know what has happened to my puppy that would still be here today if he was treated properly and diagnosed properly.... It is a loss that can never be replace and emotional damage that will always live in my heart that will never be repaired.... Basically all they did was shove my baby in a cage in a room shoved IV's in him &left him there to die... I have to say in the start there was no one else I would have brought my pup into I drove all the way from Modesto to bring him there. My baby my life my pride and joy got sick so I brought him in trusting that they would care for my puppy they determined he had Parvo so they took him back.. He was in there for 15days total with NO improvements I called daily and visited him and his chart was scarce and not to mention that every report I got was conflicting after 8days the Vet called capped me off and neglected to tell me for the remaining time he was in there they stopped caring for my puppy, leaving him in his vomit and fecal matter..... When I finally got to picked him up they handed him to me caked in his waste he smelled so unbearable it took a few baths to get it all off his body and the smell would not wash out. If it is so contagious don't you think sanitation is VITAL.. When we first got home my pup went straight to his food and ate a good healthy amount did very good for about half the day then the worst happened I rushed him into another Vet for a second opinion and urgent help and come to my surprise he was not only diagnosed with intestinal parasites caused from lack of sanitary environment he was far beyond help, the Vet said that was the WORST case they have ever seen and there was NO excuse for them to have not tested him for other issues being the length of time he was there and should have NEVER release my puppy in that condition ¬ to mention ALL his veins were blown out..... My baby passed away for NO reason and suffered unfairly due to lack of care lack of sanitation and lack of proper treatments/testing.... I pray that no one ever has to got through the suffering that Niko went through nor what I am going through....
