Waiting for almost 3 hours with our male cat that was having trouble urinating. Which can be very serious. It was in the afternoon. Never got to see a doctor. No one even looked at him and he just sat in his kennel. The front staff needs to be more aware of situations. They were loudly talking and joking around, while we watched 3 sets of people euthanize their pets. One lady they forgot to euthanize her pet and she came back in from outside while she waited for the body. It was a mess. They couldn’t tell us how much longer the wait would be and our poor cat that can’t pee more than a few drops hadn’t been out of his crate. When we said we wanted to take him home quick and let him use his box they said we would be checked out and offered us a pee pad- for a cat. So we left. They won’t be getting our business and we won’t be sending anyone their way. Very unprofessional. Sad to see because I’ve been in that industry for years. Read Less

Would post my long tragic story, but long story short. I took my yorkie in and they misdiagnosed her and I knew she wasn’t going to get better, but the vet(who seemed inexperienced) said it was normal and she would be just fine. One week later she was in critical condition and we payed $1,000(2 days worth) to try and save her, they called me the first night(it hadn’t even been more than 10 hours) and told us she wasn’t getting better and that we can either pay more or put her down. Unfortunately, we could no longer afford more. We went that same night to pick her up deceased, and they still had the audacity to charge me $80 as soon as I got there for god knows what with tears running down my face. Save yourself the time and money and don’t go here. Read Less

First of all the vet care was terrific. I can't knock them there. However, when it came to people service I would recommend going anywhere else. This was my first and last visit. Here's the background: My cat has a urinary blockage and needed to be transferred from Los Banos to Taylor due to needing 24 hour care. My vet called ahead of time (in front of me) to let them know that we were coming. We arrive and drop him off - everything is flowing fine. I fill ou...t the paperwork right away and they get Orion to the back immediately. I was so impressed at first! They said just hold tight for the estimate to finish up the paperwork, there were emergencies that need to be stabilized before they could get to Orion. Again, I get that. About 20-30 minutes go by and a tech comes out to let me know that Orion's blood work is being looked at and they'll be with us soon. another hour and a half goes by (so we're at the 2 hour mark) and we're finally called into a room. The tech talks to us for about 5 minutes and tells us to hang in out in there for the vet, it'll just be a few minutes. Another 20 minutes go by and she comes back in to tell us that the vet's not going to see us, we have to wait for the night vet to come on. Another 30 mins or so goes by and we finally see the night vet. We're talking a little over 3 hours at this point. By the time I'm done arguing with these people asking why we were waiting for 3 hours to wait for paperwork we were at about 3.5 hours. I'm normally patient when it's merited. This was not merited. Let's recall this was a transfer. They were called in advance with the information and they were expecting us. The lady at the front desk even said, "oh, this is Orion" when we arrived, so we know they were contacted. Again, I was there when my vet called, so they can't pretend like it didn't happen. How does it take 3 hours to process a transfer? There were also routine things happening. They kept blaming emergencies, but there was not one person that showed up with an emergency while we were there. They did rabies shots, returned a few animals to owners and the like. I just needed to sign a paper. Why make me wait so long. Why say after 20 minutes they're reviewing the bloodwork and then make me wait another 2.5 hours. Why call me into the office when the vet can't see me? So unprofessional. Look, I'm normally not one to complain, but I'm a vet who suffers from pretty severe PTSD so my patience for insolence is quite limited. Also, I'm self employed so every hour they took from me (including the hour drive there an back, talking over 5) is money lost. I don't make much as it is, so I asked them to help me with some compensation due to this undeserved treatment. They awarded me with a senior 5% discount. Thanks for caring. I have never been so disappointed after having such a great first impression. See more Read Less

I couldn't be more pleased with Taylor ER vet! The staff has been so amazing and have been taking care of my puppy with the absolute best care! Unfortunately, I had to take my puppy to Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital in Turlock; Friday morning, Saturday, Sunday, and then AGAIN Monday! The absolute worst care!! I was sent home when he needed 24/7 care. Every time I went, I was in and out within 20 minutes. NEVER AGAIN, will I step foot in Monte Vista Small animal hospital. I immediately had to rush him to Taylor Vet that SAME night within hours of coming home from Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital (Monday night). I honestly felt so much better and relieved with Taylor Vet. They were loving on him immediately as I walked through the door. They are watching him and monitoring his glucose levels all day and night and doing everything they can to help him. They call you every 12hours after a Vet is off their shift, to give you not only a daily update, but also an update on how he did over the night.  I will ALWAYS be taking my pets here to Taylor Rd. A place that actually CARES about the well being of your animals. Not only because of how phenomenal they are with handling their animals, but also because of every single one of their technicians, vets, and even including their receptionists, are the most loving people toward the animals who come in there. I am beyond pleased and thank you Taylor Vet to continue to help my puppy and help him get healthy again. Read Less

ITS A LONG REVIEW BUT STICK WITH ME.If I could give negative stars I would.. these people forget they are talking to people who love their pet and just want them healthy.. Rudest front desk "manager" I've ever spoken with.. My cat was hospitalized Sunday night.. IF ANY OTHER VET WAS OPEN ON EASTER SUNDAY I WOULD HAVE NEVER COME HERE!!!!! Originally I was going to pick him up Sunday night after an unblocking procedure and an IV.. They recommended three days so I changed my mind and said I would get him on Monday night so he could be monitored and ready to go home.. They called me Monday morning and said he should be ready to go home tonight.. So when I didn't hear anything from there doctors at 6:45 at night when my family was half way through making dinner I decided to give them a call.. The doctor with the thick accent told me that my cat was still hooked to the catheter and unhooking him and sending him home right away runs the risk of another block.. He said they usually take the catheter out and monitor for a couple hours to make sure the cat can pee on his own before sending him home.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME.. Where were these idiot doctors throughout the day.. The catheter should have been out and my cat should have been monitored without it and ready to go home Monday night.. But now I had a doctor on the phone telling me if I take my cat home he could just need to come back in a few days... basically forcing me to pay for him to stay an extra night to make sure I take home a healthy kitty... NOT EVEN THE WORSE PART.. The "manager" I spoke with regarding my complaints(on basically having 200$ added to my bill because of the extra night and the "extra fluids" they had to give him) was totally rude and snide and smirky and talked to me like I was a child... She stands behind her doctors and it was like talking to a brick wall.. She refused to understand why when a doctor on the phone is telling me my cat could just get blocked right back up again.. I didn't just come pick him up.. She said I authorized it so I had no right to complain... My cat should have been ready to go home last night.. Not be ready to go home buuuuttt he's might need to come back because we don't know how to do our jobs.... Read Less

Horrible horrible horrible!!! There are multiple doctors that do not communicate!!! My sisters dog lost all of his toes, because he was in a cast and each new doctor said he doesn't need a cast change, so with not changing the cast, an infection took his toes.  This was the doctors fault!! I then took my cat to this vet and each time we talked to the doctor, there was something new to add on. The manager is a cold hearted person. I would never take an animal you care about here. You may get lucky and get that one good doctor we had the first day but the rest of the days would be someone completely different. Read Less

On 08/19/2016 we took our 4-year-old Beagle mix to Taylor ER Veterinary Emergency Hospital. He had a large abscess on the outside of his jaw near his shoulder. The vet tech took us into the exam room and examined our dog. He had a high temp so she took him to the back to cool him off. When she returned she asked us if we had noticed the foxtails in his mouth. We had not. Next, the first Veterinarian we dealt with said that he would need to have the abscess lanced, washed, and a drain put in. Ok no problem. We signed the estimate (Almost $300) and game them the go ahead to €fix€ him. We returned later that day and picked him up along with his antibiotics and pain meds. I took him back for a follow up on 08/25/2016. They said it looks like it€s getting better but let€s make sure the swelling goes away. After the vet tech and the person at the desk finally stopped arguing on when to reschedule me they said €Come back on Saturday since the Vet you saw won€t be back in for another month€. We kept him in the house at all times minus the obvious bathroom breaks outside. On 08/27/2016 my wife took our dog back. She checked in and there was no mention of a charge. It€s a follow up right? Well during the visit my wife saw a Different vet that looked over our dog. He looked in his mouth, and guess what. The foxtails that cause the abscess were never removed. He pulled one out with his hands. Are you kidding me? They didn€t remove the cause of the abscess when it was right in front of them? Oh and it gets better. The vet says that he has 2 teeth that need to come out because of the foxtails and the abscess. So they give my wife an estimate and schedule our dog for another procedure totaling around $500. Really? After the appointment they tell my wife €that will be $28.€ For what? To do a follow up and find out that they didn€t perform everything they could have to €fix€ our dog? On 08/28/2016 I called the vet and asked why the foxtails weren€t remove in the first place. Her answer was €Sometimes they work themselves out€. What? Foxtails are a big problem for dogs because they don€t work themselves out, they go in. I go further and ask why these procedures weren€t completed when they took care of the abscess if they were obvious. The reply, €Well, that isn€t what he was brought in for.€ What? So, you have a dog that could have died from an infection from an abscess, you see what caused the abscess and infection, and you leave it? Sounds a lot like wanting to double dip on the charges. Most of the charges for the procedure that they did are exactly the same for the second procedure. I read some other reviews of this place and they had the same feeling that all they cared about was money and not the animals. I can€t say that for the vet techs. They at least seemed to care, but the Vets are a different story. I cancelled the appointment that was made for the second procedure and took our dog somewhere else for an opinion. The vet pulled out 4 foxtails during his exam. He was surprised that they weren€t removed when the abscess was taken care of. My thoughts exactly. The new Vet also felt that the tooth needed to be removed, and could have been with the abscess. The cost is going to be less than what it would have been at Taylor too. Today 09/08/2016 my dog is currently undergoing the procedure for his teeth as I write this review. I will never go back to Taylor Veterinary Hospital. This vet appears to be honest and upfront and cares for the animals. I can€t say the same about Taylor Vets though. Please think twice about taking your animals here. They may have been a good vet hospital at one point. However, now they seem to be the Western Dental of Veterinarians. Read Less

Taylor is by far one of the best vets we have been to. Not only are they 24/7 and available to see your pet whenever they may be sick, but they will even just talk to you over the phone and help in any way they can with whatever issue that might not warrant an actual check-in. The staff have a genuine passion for treating animals and that passion is evident in the care and treatment they provide for every animal that comes through. Yes, it can be expensive at times, but that is all within the realm of being a pet parent. Regarding the negative reviews; I am aware people consider their pets family, but it's childish and unfair to blame the messenger and post negative feedback when things don't go well for the animal. Take it from somebody who has two cats and an epileptic dog, Taylor vet is amazing, and they truly care. Read Less

Fast forward several years. My 14 year old cat has been diagnosed with cancer. Dr Dudly has been AMAZING! She was very thorough and compassionate in her explanation of the diagnosis. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I had my 7 month old puppy boarder here for only 4 days and when I picked him up, he was NOT in the condition I dropped him off in. Not to mention, I had called every single day my dog was there to check in on him and see how he was doing. Every time I called I was told he was doing absolutely great. However that was not the case at all. After taking him home and seeing that the skin was missing from all 4 of his paws as well as from his testicles I rushed him straight back and was told that he was put outside in a cement kennel without any bedding or blankets yet no one bothered to tell me that one of the times I called. The rough cement that he was left to sleep on clearly rubbed his paws and testicles completely raw almost to the point of bleeding. The nurses acted very apologetic however I am being told that I have to wait weeks while an "investigation" is conducted before they even consider reimbursing me for the money I spent just to have my dog thrown outside. I have never been more disappointed. I was made to believe the entire time I was gone that my puppy was happy and healthy when he was sleeping outside in the cold, developing sores, and being neglected. Yet I should be expected to pay for that kind of treatment. Never again will I bring my dog here for boarding or anything else. These people clearly don't know how to care for animals or how to treat customers who they have done wrong.Read Less

My only concern is i wonder how many animals this veterinarian put to sleep over her bad judgment. ..Read Less

One of a mutual acquaintance told me about her experience with Taylor vet 2nights ago similar to Denise Scott's post 9month ago Valerie is a local farmer in Turlock and is considered volunteer animal shelter for scores and scores of unwanted animals. She is also considered to be the local horse whisperer two nights ago her beloved cat was run down and left to die. When Valerie called her somehow her beloved whimpered loud enough and dragged her broken body that was crushed so Valerie could find her. Valerie quickly called Taylor vet and others she was met with the same bloodless concern for life as Scott's daughter was Taylor demanding 200$$and was turned away her beloved had 4crushed legs and a broken back. Valerie doesn't have that kind of money consequently with no other alternative. Her husband was forced to shoot a bullet to brain to end her suffering This tradegy was deepened because of Valeries' unwavering love and compassion for the animal world. The veterinarians lives off of the animals life The animals pay the mortgage put food on the table even sends the vets children to college. An compassionate injection does not cost 200$$$ This act was unconscionable and indefensible Those working for Taylor or any other vet who show this same lack of human decency should look in the mirror and come up with a good explanation of Why they would be part of this same cold way of doing business where does this end? Regrettably. Susan Reece Mohawk/Odawa nations Read Less

Our 12 year old daughter rescued a kitten from under a dumpster, it was about 4 weeks old. We nurtured her for a few weeks and today she got herself stuck under the garage door. We called Taylor (they are near us) to ask about putting her down to end her suffering. They wanted over $200, we cannot afford that at all. What kind of a veterinarian expects so much for ending the suffering of an innocent animal? This is not the kind of compassion we would have expected from an emergency clinic. They should be ashamed of themselves. Where is the kindness in this, we were only trying to do the right thing for this sweet creature. Read Less

Read Less

I'm a single mom with 3 teenagers & a very tight budget. A few weeks ago I brought our Jojo in not knowing what was wrong with him. Unfortunately there was no way i could afford treatment him but I couldn't handle him suffering the way he was because Our jojo was dying a long painful death. The veterinarian & staff were amazingly supportive & even assisted me in finding the financial help I needed to do what was best for him. I truly appreciate all the staff had done to help & comfort me during this time. They have even done a follow up with our family, which makes the entire process easier. Thank you, Fields-Clemons Family Read Less

Read Less

I became a Taylor vet client quite by accident when my cat had an allergic reaction to a vaccine, the vet that administered the vaccine had already closed for the day. I called Taylor and explained that I was in Los Banos but my cat was quite sick. They were wonderful and very responsible in price! So I decided to start going there as my primary. Fast forward several years. My 14 year old cat has been diagnosed with cancer. Dr Dudly has been AMAZING! She was very thorough and compassionate in her explanation of the diagnosis. I felt no pressure to go to extreme measures such as surgery or chemo. She suggested steroid pills just to boost her system and we would go from there. My kitty is doing great and I am so thankful that I found this wonderful vet. Read Less

Read Less
