First of all the vet care was terrific. I can't knock them there. However, when it came to people service I would recommend going anywhere else. This was my first and last visit. Here's the background: My cat has a urinary blockage and needed to be transferred from Los Banos to Taylor due to needing 24 hour care. My vet called ahead of time (in front of me) to let them know that we were coming. We arrive and drop him off - everything is flowing fine. I fill ou...t the paperwork right away and they get Orion to the back immediately. I was so impressed at first! They said just hold tight for the estimate to finish up the paperwork, there were emergencies that need to be stabilized before they could get to Orion. Again, I get that. About 20-30 minutes go by and a tech comes out to let me know that Orion's blood work is being looked at and they'll be with us soon. another hour and a half goes by (so we're at the 2 hour mark) and we're finally called into a room. The tech talks to us for about 5 minutes and tells us to hang in out in there for the vet, it'll just be a few minutes. Another 20 minutes go by and she comes back in to tell us that the vet's not going to see us, we have to wait for the night vet to come on. Another 30 mins or so goes by and we finally see the night vet. We're talking a little over 3 hours at this point. By the time I'm done arguing with these people asking why we were waiting for 3 hours to wait for paperwork we were at about 3.5 hours. I'm normally patient when it's merited. This was not merited. Let's recall this was a transfer. They were called in advance with the information and they were expecting us. The lady at the front desk even said, "oh, this is Orion" when we arrived, so we know they were contacted. Again, I was there when my vet called, so they can't pretend like it didn't happen. How does it take 3 hours to process a transfer? There were also routine things happening. They kept blaming emergencies, but there was not one person that showed up with an emergency while we were there. They did rabies shots, returned a few animals to owners and the like. I just needed to sign a paper. Why make me wait so long. Why say after 20 minutes they're reviewing the bloodwork and then make me wait another 2.5 hours. Why call me into the office when the vet can't see me? So unprofessional. Look, I'm normally not one to complain, but I'm a vet who suffers from pretty severe PTSD so my patience for insolence is quite limited. Also, I'm self employed so every hour they took from me (including the hour drive there an back, talking over 5) is money lost. I don't make much as it is, so I asked them to help me with some compensation due to this undeserved treatment. They awarded me with a senior 5% discount. Thanks for caring. I have never been so disappointed after having such a great first impression. See more Read Less
