Wonderful staff. Dr Franca is amazing. He is so kind and compassionate. He takes the time to speak to you and makes sure you understand everything that is going on with your pet. The front office staff are friendly and caring. The vet techs are wonderful and gentle. I have two experiences to share. The first is about my dog who passed away(euthanasia) July 7th at this location. She was brought in because she was breathing abnormally and had a bad cough and was having trouble loosing weight. They helped her as best as they could and were really wonderful with her. They were not able to figure out exactly what the cause of her issues were so they referred us to the specialist in Tustin. The other vet specialist could not figure out what was wrong either. My dog had lots of fluid in her chest, a collapsed lung, problems with her organs, slight heart disease, and was not eating, and went downhill really fast. She had exploratory surgery done at the specialist and a biopsy and no one could figure out what was wrong. She had a feeding tube as she wasn't eating and she had to have the fluid drained throughout the day. She was on a ton of medications and was constantly being monitored. Then she went downhill so fast we decided to bring her home. She was hospitalized there for about 5 days or so before we finally took her home. We had her for one night and then called Dr Franca at Banfield on the 7th to have her put down as she had zero quality of life and was dying. You could just see the pain in her eyes, and she couldn't walk or eat or even drink water any more. When we arrived at Banfield they had us go into a room and brought a blanket to lay on the floor for us. They stayed really late, as they were closed, and made time for my sweet dog. The tech was so gentle with her and the vet was just so kind. They gave us as much time as we needed before they began the overdose. Sadly to say she passed away in my arms that evening. After she went to the rainbow bridge, they gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes and cuddle with her for the last time, even though they were closed. Though this is a sad story, I wan to point out they did EVERYTHING they could to help her. They made that last, long, month of her life the best they could. Even though she is no longer with us, I want people to know that no matter what vet we saw it would have turned out the same...she was going to pass on. I am so thankful for the staff and their huge hearts for taking care of my dog all the way to the end. They were so sweet to us the whole time, especially the last day. I thank them for all their hard work and for being one of the most compassionate vet staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The second story is about my other dog who got really sick suddenly and I took him there to Dr Franca. Happy to say this worked out much much better. My dog is feeling more normal and I am glad I had such wonderful people to help him. I also thought he might have hip displaysia so I took him for xrays recently and he does not thankfully. Dr Franca found out that in his past someone had shot him and he has a pellet in his right side by his hip. He is a rescue I've had for about 5 months and he is from Washington, was found as a stray. I am so grateful to all the staff here. They were everything I could ask for. Kind, caring, compassionate, gentle, knowledgable, and they really do love animals. Banfield in the past use to not have the best staff, but now I am so happy that all the people that work there are just so awesome. So thank you Dr Franca and everyone else. You helped make a rough experience a lot easier to go through. Read Less
