I absolutely love it here and so does my Casper (Maltese). Casper was a rescue dog and we have been coming here since Casper was 1. I recently visited Vaca Valley Vet Hospital after reading other reviews of this place.  I concur with most of the reviews. The staff is wonderful.  The prices are reasonable.  They don't try to up-sale their services.  I could go on and on.  I will continue to go here.  If I could change one thing, that would be for them to be open a little later on weekdays.  They close at 5pm.  This makes it challenging to pick up your animal when they had a procedure requiring them to stay most of the day. I am so happy with the turn out of my visit today. Brought my kitty in for a UTI. The Dr didn't insist on unneeded tests, asked a few questions about her usual potty habits, took her temp and treated her on the spot. 1 shot of antibiotics and some fluids and she was good to go. They even gave us about 4 days of sample food made for UT infections. We are so happy with the care and attention our cat got while there. Total cost for visit and treatment was about $130. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful practice. Dr. Jassar and the team have seen us through regular visits, end of life care for dogs and cats, and many changes in our pet household's health. When we've needed emergency care from the clinic in Cordelia, everything is coordinated between the two offices before we even ask.This is also one of the most reasonably priced vet clinics we've ever seen. Unlike our previous vet in Sacramento, I don't feel like we're paying more for services so that the practice can build a giant new facility (cough, Mueller, cough). We're much more likely to use preventative medicine rather than only reacting.Don't expect long, drawn-out visits; Dr. Jassar and the team are efficient and keep things moving. But know that they're thorough and are doing what needs to be done. They're kind and gracious but don't waste much movement between client. I like that approach because it's considerate of our time as clients, too.Vaca Valley is one of the best reasons to live in Vacaville. Read Less

My mother took her cat in to have her put to sleep they charged her over $170 my grandmother had hers put to sleep one month before  lt was only $140My mother asked why the difference they said because my grandmother is older she got a senior discount mind you my mom is in her 70s. Also i.paid less to have my dog.put to sleep at cordeila emergency at 10 pm. Not sure if they just like taking advantage of our seniors in their hour of grief. Read Less

Dr. Jassar and his staff are great. I have never gone there and felt anything other than being treated with kindness and respect. They truly go the extra mile to help and make sure you are satisfied. My German Shepherd actually has no trouble with going there. The staff that greats you are friendly and welcoming. Dr. Jassar and the nurses are wonderful and make you and your pet feel very comfortable. Dr. Jassar always takes his time with you and I never feel like I'm being rushed in and out. Read Less

I have no idea how some people can give this place negative views. Everyone there is very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Jassar is great! The only thing I would have to critique about is that no one let us know the side-effects to the medicines they gave our dog, but that's kind of on us because we didn't ask. I love and trust Vaca Valley Vet! Dr. Jassar has been wonderful to my family of pets! I have come to him unexpected emergencies and my dog who fell into a diabetic ketoacidosis state. The odds were highly against him, but Dr. Jassar did not give up on him and was able to recover him. This place has also been very gracious to me being a college student and having a tight budget. They truly care about their patients (which is difficult to find) and are a wonderful team. I have never had a bad experience here and between my mother and I we have taken many pets here for over a decade. I would recommend Vaca Valley Veterinary Hospital to anyone who values the life of their pet. The building is older and small but when you think about it, does your pet really care? The prices are good at Vaca Valley but more importantly Dr. Jassar knows what he's doing. Every single employee at Vaca Valley had a genuine concern for the well being of our dog. Here's my very recent story: Back in August I brought our 18 month old dog to Oak Animal Hospital because she wouldn't stop throwing up. After being shuffled between two different vets they diagnosed her with pancreatitis. The prices were ridiculous but our dog recovered nicely so it was tuff for me to complain too much. A couple of weeks ago the symptoms returned. I took her back to Oak. A different vet saw her this time and diagnosed her with a relapse of pancreatitis. A few days later she was not getting better so we took her back in to Oak and saw yet another (yes that's four) vet. She read the chart of the previous three vets diagnosis and just continued the treatment for pancreatitis. After this point I was fed up with not seeing the same vet twice, not getting the level of care I felt our puppy deserved, and paying through the nose for treatment that wasn't working. So I took her to Vaca Valley. Dr. Jassar personally observed her for two days and decided that the pancreatitis had to be a secondary problem and that there was most likely a more serious cause to her throwing up. He decided to do surgery and I'm glad he did. He found two obstructions in her stomach and small intestine. He removed them and she's on the road to a full recovery. I went to Vaca Valley just in the nick of time. If I had stayed at Oak I'm confident our dog would not be alive right now. If you are choosing a veterinary hospital and want an affordable price, a genuinely caring and compassionate staff, and a well qualified veterinarian, then choose Vaca Valley Veterinary Hospital.
