We chose this vet because of the reasonable price for a vet visit, and we had read some good reviews about the staff and facility. On our first visit, we had brought in a stray dog that we had just adopted that day. It was filthy dirty and had a puncture wound on her belly from what looked like a bite. While the vet, Dr. Liu I believe his name is, was checking our pet, he made me to hold the dog as he examined her. The vet kept telling me to hold her still and continued to give me dirty looks every time my dog squirmed as he probed her rectum. Very unprofessional. He should have had a vet tech or other staff assistant helping him examine the dog. At the end of the exam, Dr. Liu had a long list of procedures he thought were necessary. Included in the list was performing surgery, opening up the partially healed puncture wound, and scraping any foreign debris that he thought was sure to be in the wound. As he went down the list of procedures, and the potential cost, we had to decide what we could afford. We asked if surgery was the best, first option, or was there a cheaper, less invasive means to treat her wound. He gave us a look like he couldn't believe we didn't want to have everything done, and in short, caused us to feel like some worthless welfare recipients who didn't care about their pets. We finally decided to have them administer a shot of antibiotics and to purchase flea treatment. The entire visit, I felt like they were trying to 'up-sell' me. Dr. Liu came across as a used car salesman, rather than a caring veterinarian. At the end of this visit, we decided to start looking for another vet.We did not find another vet before we needed to go again, but I just hoped that they would have a different vet on duty. No such luck. Another of our pets was acting weak and shaky, so we brought him in to see Dr. Liu. After a blood test showed that he was slightly dehydrated, we were relieved. However, he then started telling us that he strongly recommended that they do an IV drip to re-hydrate our dog. Either that, or some kind of shot. We asked if there was anything we could do, short of allowing him to run an IV on my dog, to help him re-hydrate. Dr. Liu then reluctantly gave us advice on how to encourage our pet to drink more water.I recommend not taking your pets here for care. The vet techs and office staff are awesome, but the veterinarian is just out to make a buck. Why would you recommend surgery on a 10 year old dog as a first choice, when a simple antibiotic fixed the problem? In my experience with doctors, they generally try the least invasive remedies first, reserving surgery as a last resort. This doctor seems to have the reverse theory, 'start with the most invasive, most expensive procedures first....' Unacceptable. If you love your pets and don't want to get hustled into an unnecessarily expensive vet bill, do not bring them here. Read Less
