This place has always been clean when I am there. The staff is knowledgeable and very professional. I never feel rushed or feel bad about not knowing stuff. The staff answers all of my questions. Overall, good but likely not to return. Making the appointment was easy as I discussed with the receptionist that I am a first time customer seeking a wellness check for a senior cat. The waiting room was welcoming and quiet.  Parking easy. The vet we saw was knowledgeable and friendly and we  liked him. The bummer?  At the end of our visit, we found out he only works 1 day a week.  As  a new client, why set us up with a part-time vet? Especially without telling us.And when we did the follow up with the junior regular vet for the labwork, it was slightly disjointed as her philosophy didn't match the vet we saw. This didn't matter to us, but I will note their office visit/exam fees are significantly more than other vets--like $15-20 higher. We are looking to establish an ongoing relationship with a vet for our aging cat. As a consumer of veterinary services for over 26 years, this office is not a good fit for us. Read Less

I meant to update my review not delete.. *Review from 2014*I call in and bother them all the time about my new pup for any questions (first time dog owner) They are very helpful each time and don't seem to mind! The staff is really friendly and they all seem to be very knowledgeable. They are also really friendly with all the pets that come in including mine.Three years later, more dogs &Im still here! Their hours are during my work hours and i've tried to switch to vets with later hours but none have been as good as them. Dr.Christiansen did amazing with my first pup but Dr.Miller is more so my regular now for both, she is very patient and kind with my stubborn ones. She was able to figure out and solve issues/prescribe the right meds for both my dogs that other vets couldnt. Issues were prolonged or made worse & I had to come back to get answers from vets i trusted! I learned my lesson and have stopped trying to go elsewhere! If my dogs need  to be seen here, i will leave work or arrive late. The only time i will go elsewhere is if its after hours and cannot wait! But believe me, this is where you want to be for your dogs!! if you've had as many issues as i've had with my dogs you'd want a staff that goes above & beyond. The front staff is your first point of contact so its important to have the most knowledgeable people up front or those who go back to check and get a Dr.'s advice if they dont know. I've had front staff at other clinics give me bad advice or just clueless as to medications & symptoms so having a knowledgeable front staff is very important to me. Noones helped me better than Racine & Barbara, they're so welcoming, too. Prices are pretty high compared to some clinics around Vallejo, American Canyon & Napa but the service you get from the front staff to the back is the reason!! You truly get what you pay for, top notch service. The prices for shots are average though, i'd prefer coming here to waiting in line at PetCo or PetFoodExpress!! They've gotten even busier since I first became a customer but they do their best to get you in. Hopefully they add more hours or add a weekend day in!! Read Less

They are a wonderful caring hospital! I think I have worked with each of the doctors now and all of them are great to work with. My cat Sampson doesn't exactly like going to the vet, so much so that I have been bringing one into my home. But since they are not always available, I know I can count on The Bayside staff to take great care of my baby! He is geriatric now, and had a pancreatic problem and had to stay for a day and my worry was relieved when he purred as soon as I got him home. I understand why this place has five star reviews. My family's dog was injured severely by our other family dog today. The support towards not only my dog, but my family was above and beyond. I've been bringing my pets to Bayside Vet Hospital since 2010 when we moved to Vallejo from Stockton.  In our family, our pets are family members & when they need care we don't hesitate to get the care they need. We have a cat & 2 dogs (large breeds). I can't say enough about the quality of care & medical treatment Dr Christensen has provided!!  Most recently, Dr Miller joined the staff & she is equally excellent!!  The technicians are caring & skilled and most helpful!!  Barbara & Raycene (spelling) are awesome covering the front desk & all the paperwork. My wife and I have been going to Bayside Vet for about 7 years. We've had a total of 6 animals throughout that time and some have had to be put down. EVERY staff member I've ever had contact with are knowledgeable, professional and personable. I'd trust any of them w/ my animals. ANY vet you go to will be pricey but this place is a gem and worth every penny. For ANYONE to say Dr. Miller put their pet at risk is absolutely ludicrous. There are a lot of good reviews here, but I won't be back. Two visits: 1. My dog tore his rear ACL. The vet looked at him for a short period of time, maybe 5 minutes and recommended a $3,000 dollar surgery and told me it was really my only choice. I felt she was rather cold and disinterested. His other leg was already bad and I was really worried. One of the considerations when a dog's back legs go is to put him down because you can't be there to help take care of him. I was terrified. I love my dog. I stayed home for a week, built him a ramp, and assisted him until he figured out how to manage his week knees. He is now running around and having a normal life. 2. My dog developed a really bad cough and started coughing up some yellow stuff. They asked me to keep him in the car, which I understand, because he might be contagious. The vet (same one) came out and didn't want to touch him. She wanted to interview me and that was about it. She saw I wasn't satisfied and decided she'd better listen to his lungs. I got antibiotics, no guess as to a diagnosis, and a bill. I brought up the issue of the torn ACL and that he was doing great. Her only comment was, "That is what we hope for." On both occasions the diagnosis from the Veterinarian offered very few options, no clear diagnosis, and a big bill. The office staff were friendly, but the veterinarian was not. There are some house cats there and they have a play room with a window behind the desk. The waiting room smelled like urine. Read Less

The staff is very friendly and approachable. Everyone was super nice to my wife and I, my dogs, and made us feel at home. I feel totally comfortable taking them back in a few weeks for follow up. The office staff here is so wonderful! They were helpful and friendly and very patient. I have a kind of high strung dog and if I'm going to be honest I'm a bit of a helicopter dog mom. The doctor clearly knows what she's doing and handled Dusty with ease. They were all very sweet and helped ease my worries. I really appreciated how helpful and caring everyone was. Took my baby here for a check up and ended up getting her spayed and a small hernia removed. In my opinion the surgery was quite reasonable compared to other vets, yet we were charged for the after surgery well visit which I found ridiculous. Seems to me like they try to get you for every dime you have. Staff isn't the most friendly but isn't out and out rude either. I think the 5 stars they have is a bit overrated. Read Less

I have never had to put a dog to sleep before but they did it very humanely and were very nice to us. I thought I couldn't afford to get him euthanized like that , the first vet told us it would be $400. The pound told me $50 but then I would have to surrender the dog to them and not be able to see him out and they would throw him in the trash. I found a vet who would do it for $80 and they were wonderful and let us hold his hand and be with him while the procedure was done And we got his body back and had a funeral in the backyard for the kids.. Being from TX  i was unsure what place to take my BBY too, so I decided to give this place a call To see when was there next available  app they were able to get me in the next day I was glad.  From front office to back office they all showed they cared and were very sweet THE DR was really nice explained everything clearly so I could understand everything answered all my question clearly. This is my first visit to this vetenatian hospital. It was sadly to have a pet euthanized. They were recomwnded to me by a family member who works at the Humane Society. The staff from entering through the entire euthenasia process was kind, calming, and showed geniuine sympathy for my pet. As a traveler with pets it is good to know there are vets that care and will take the needed steps to ensure a difficult situation is handled with the utmost respect and profesionaism. Finding a vet is not the easiest thing to do. After many years of pet ownership at best we struck gold only 60% of the time. Today we struck 100% gold by going to Bayside Veterinary Hospital. Barbara is more then wonderful and then you get to meet Beverly who knows more about pets then some vets that we have been to in the past and she isn't Bayside's veterinarian. Go here for shots. Super inexpensive. And they don't require examination first before vaccination like some vets do. Dogs and cats vaccine $25. But that doesn't include rabies.Staff is pretty nice. I find you just gotta wait a while to be helped next, they really make sure every patient is well taken care of. Read Less

Bayside is amazing! I just took my 1 yr old bully in today because he got himself into a little accident at the dog park. The staff was very warm, understanding and nice. I brought my chihuaua, Daisy, in for our very trip to this office to get her nails cut. I work at a verterinary office as well, yet Daisy will not let me cut her nails so I have always had to take her in to get them cut down. I was very impressed by the staff at Bayside. When the tech came out to get Daisy, I suggested she might get a muzzle as Daisy is a typical chihuahua, not to mention a "mommy's girl" and was petrified to leave my side. Once the tech and Daisy were in the back, I did hear Daisy screaming BUT I know she was not being hurt, she was just scared out of her little mind. Daisy did pee on the tech who cut her nails, and I am very sorry about that. I think next time I take her in, I am going to give her a dose of Ace. Anyway, I am very impressed with this office. Seeing as how I work at another vet, I know how to tell if nails were cut too short and I am proud to say not a single nail was cut too short. Ladies at Bayside, I thank you for taking care of my baby, I apologize for the tech getting peed on. We will be back, thought this next time we go, I will give Daisy a dose of Ace and I will not let her nails get so long. You guys are amazing! 5 stars in my book!!!!!!!!! Read Less

This is a great veterinary clinic. They are professional and friendly. They also take very great care for the pets they take in. I had to contact them in an emergency to quarantine my cat after he bit me and they not only took him in that day but they also were very reasonable and affordable in the prices for shots and boarding.
