I found an (what I now know to be), American Kestral in the middle of the 12 highway, wounded.
3 cars in front of me passed it in the MIDDLE lane, it was flapping as if - TRYING. I shooed it out of the road and it TRIED to fly, twice, only made it about 4 feet when it put its' wing up and laid on its' side staring at me. I didn't notice it had a small wing problem, probably clipped by a car until I got it into my shirt and left.
How can people pass a bird that is OBVIOUSLY wounded, probably clipped by a car, and continue on with life as humans?
Well, it's Californication.
All that BABBLE ASIDE, at first they said they could not take it and I need to take it to ANGELS CAMP, which BOGGLED me, where is humanity I thought, I was on my way to shower and get to work (Where I write this from). Then, I believe a woman in the back, THANK GOD, decided she would take it to the aviary vet (MAY KARMA / THE LORD SHINE ON YOU).
I named it "Twelve", as its' life almost ended - and was RESTARTED on the 12 by Calaveras County line.
They gave me info to check on it, and - in the state I was in (seriously worried) - that was enough for me to BELIEVE there are humans working there.
They are not a bird vet you see, so - WELL DONE whoever decided to help from where I got the poor bird (which I found out there - is a Kestral).
They seemed to be VERY good with dogs and very busy - THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING, that birds' life was on the line, as well as my job if you guys did not take it - I don't have it in me to leave a bird helpless.
