Over the past year my dog and I have been battling an infection in his mouth. We went to another office where the cleaned and extracted 8 teeth. Afterwards the infection came back. My sister recommended her vet which is closer to home anyways. They did another cleaning and found 5 more teeth that needed extracting. Dr. Heikes gave us antibiotics to take for a longer period. Unfortunately, during this time we dog got sick with something I believe he caught at the beach so we weren't able to finish the antibiotics. He wasn't eating for a few days and whatever the Dr's gave him really helped and he's back to normal! I'm one happy momma! Read Less

The vets, techs and staff at Mission are superb. Their philosophy is to make your animals as comfortable and under the least stress as possible. They will even go to the lengths of making several appointments to ease your animal into their facility (no extra charge). Their gentle ways put my rather hyper shepherd into chill mode almost instantly. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a sensitive animal or owner. They are 1000 times better than all other experiences I've had with veterinarians in Ventura and I've lived here and had animals my whole life. Thank you, thank you , thank you. Staff is really friendly. What I do not like is that there is no payment plan my dog needed surgery and I needed to pay in 1,612 in full in order for them to start the procedure. I just hope my dog will be fine. Disappointed there is no payment plan. Thank god I had the money or else my dog will be in so much pain. Read Less

Office staff are helpful & kind.  Dr. Conrad was nice enough but they CHARGE SO MUCH $$.  My dog almost died bc Dr. didn't listen to me & prescribed a med that almost killed him. And they never even waived any fees.  Just said, well, you can bring him back for more tests.  I just won't take the risk. Read Less

I could give six stars to them, dr Conard was taking care of my cat. Not only they took me in same day, they were very patient with her. Doctor cared enough to call me after he was done with his working hours to let me know the results of the blood work. They done so much work on my cat, and even landed me the cage to bring her home! I have been very impressed with all of my experiences at Mission Animal Hospital and Dr. Conard. Being a veterinary technician at an emergency and specialty facility, my expectations and standard of care for my own pets are very high. Dr. Conard treats my nervous dog with multiple medical problems with skilled care and thoroughness. Every time I have to refer clients to a regular veterinarian, they are my go to. Called into the office on Thursday night asking to get prices on a new patient office visit and vaccines for 2 dogs; I received a call on Friday from Brooke the receptionist who was very nice and informative. I was able to schedule an appointment for a SATURDAY, for two dogs. She went over pricing which I thought was awesome- apparently you get a discount of you have 2 animals, anything discount helps and those out there know what I'm talking about. The office is located on the corner of Main St and Seaward. There's a decent size parking lot right in front of the building so you don't have to worry about the business of Main St. Once inside the office, it's clean and roomy. They sell special dog food and if they don't have the kind in stock they can happily order it for you. Our Doc for the day was Dr. Conard. Dr. C is very friendly was awesome with our pups. My dogs are usually crazy and dread their vet visits, but surprisingly they were fine with Dr. C in the room. He was very gentle with them which made them feel comfortable.
