I have 5 pets so i have engaged with many vets over the years  and NOTHING Comes Close to the staff and care given by Ohana .1. Drs are smart, experienced and compassionate . Losing a family pet is absolutely one of the saddest moments. One of our family dogs became ill while I was out on vacation. Poochie was about 15 years old and when I saw her I knew she was in so much pain. Putting down my dog would be the absolute last resort. Within hours Poochie began to get worse when I arrived at Ohana Pet Hospital the staff was very helpful, compassionate, quick and attentive. It was a busy Saturday but they took Poochie quickly as an emergency case. I was then helped by Dr.Megan and she was very informative and compassionate. I then made the decision to put down Poochie and I was reassured that it was a good decision for Poochie. The reassurance makes a huge mental difference. As a pet owner you want to best for your pet and at times you feel as if you failed them but sometimes you need to be reminded you did all you could and you provided your pet the best life. They do give you the option to be present when they put down your pet but I decided not to. I then was given time to day my goodbyes to her. Before they brought her out they talk to you about your options. I opted to have her cremated and returned to me. My cost was $250 which included the emergency appointment and the cremation service along with the box. My dog was 3lbs which I'm sure pricing varies by size and type of animal. I was told to take as much time as I want. Due to my dog being in so much pain I decided to give her up within 10 minutes. They go above and beyond. I would highly recommend them. 10 days later I received a call that my dog was ready and I was surprised how everything was so thoughtful and well put together.You receive a Cremation Certificate, help line information, Rainbow Bridge Poem, Paw imprint, Staff card, Cedar box with a name plate and the ashes are inside. Awesome all-female clinic in the heart of Ventura, easily accessible for both east and west-siders, as well as for those in some parts of Oxnard. After our orange tabby injured his eye, we took him to the emergency vet clinic that operates out of Ohana and got some ointment to give him. Two days later we were able to exchange the ointment for drops (it was difficult to administer) without having to bring back our cat. We made an appointment with the Ohana vets since we noticed that his eye wasn't improving. This was 6 days after the ER visit. Sure enough, they found and removed a foxtail from his eye! Poor baby! We continued with the drops and a 3-day anti-inflammatory medication. Within a week he was better, and he got the green-light at his check-up the next week! The ladies at the front even gave us a recommendation for cat groomers, since our poor kitty has fleas. Ohana will definitely be our new go-to vet for all three of our cats. They are reasonable in their pricing and caring towards their patients. Plus there is coffee and water for the owners! We will be back, but hopefully just for a check-up :) Read Less

Typically all animal visits are difficult with temperamental pets, but ohanas staff were friendly and worked well with my cocker spaniel. We followed Dr. Jan, Dr. Jill and Dr. Nikki from Buena Animal Hospital. They are the best and have treated all of our animals with professionalism and care. Unfortunately, as their business has grown, the service is not what it used to be. It's nearly impossible to have a continuum of care given that you see a different vet each time you have an appointment. Wait time has increased exponentially. Furthermore, they now require annual check ups before renewing prescriptions for such things as flea medication and dietary food. Hopefully these are just normal growing pains that they will overcome in time. Read Less

Very impressed with this Pet Hospital! They got us in the same day we called to make an appointment. It turned out our Grace had a pneumonia ! Dr. Amy was very nice & treated us like family. Their prices were fair & they went over everything very carefully. The staff was very sweet & you can tell they love their jobs. I also like their rooms - there are couches and no scary exam table for the animal. It's very welcoming. They were also very efficient with getting everything done in a timely manner. We weren't waiting forever for the doctor & the staff came in regularly. That is much appreciated because you can tell they care about your time too. We have found our new vet! Thank you Ohana! I live north of Santa Barbara and make the trip to Ohana whenever I need vet care for one of my 3 dogs, (about 40 miles one way.) Dr. Nicci has been my dogs vet their entire lives, (Harley is almost 12 now) and all 3 of them are very healthy and happy. She also cared for two other dogs and a cat for most of their lives. Dr. Nicci and Dr. Jill are always there for us when we have a problem, and the doctors always find a sensible and effective answer to the various issues my guys have had over the years. (My 8 year old had 18 teeth pulled last year, and was eating strawberries and fried chicken that night.) The entire staff is very professional and caring, I especially appreciate Val and the concern she shows when my guys are sick. I have been taking my 3 dogs and my cat to Ohana for the past 3 years. I changed because I really liked the way they treated the dogs I transported from Canine Adoption and Rescue League, a dog rescue where I volunteer regularly. Also, They recently added my longtime favorite veterinarian, Dr. Donnalee Dorman. (Although all of them are great.) They take great care of my furry family, get me in and out on time, and are just as wonderful with the our homeless orphans as they are with my personal pets.The attendant staff are consistently helpful and love the critters as much as I do. I cannot express enough how happy I am with my experience at Ohana Pet Hospital. Dr. Kate is the best vet I have ever taken my pet to see. She is professional, patient, kind to both me and my dog, and listens to every concern I have. You can tell that she honestly LOVES animals.
