ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! I took my 7lb puppy in on Saturday, April 15 due to a swollen eye. I arrived prior to midnight and sat in the exam room for over an hour listening to another animal screaming in pain. I actually didn't have a problem with the wait (or the screaming) as I understand this is an emergency room and that attending vets are busy with other patients. What I had a problem with is the female "vet" flying into the room and treating my extremely scared dog roughly. The "vet" was EXTREMEY unfriendly, she never introduced herself, she didn't give my scared animal a chance to smell or get to know her. Instead she immediately grabbed him and roughly pried open his affected eye and while interrogating me as to why I brought the dog in. When I explained that his eye, which I noticed was slightly swollen in the morning, had gotten worse during the day and was now obviously painful to him since he was shying away from anyone touching him on that side of his face and cried when my other dog bumped into him. The "vet" pronounced that his eye was only slightly swollen but that he had nothing in his eye and needed to be kept for observation since his swollen eye could be a sign of "brain trauma sustained from the hit I witnessed the other dog give him", "his brain is swelling and causing the eye to swell and the pain". I again tried to explain his eye was already slightly swollen in the morning, the other dog (same size and breed of my injured one) did not attack him, he cried when her wiggling butt brushed against him as I was greeting them which let me know he was in pain and that's why I brought him to the ER instead of waiting for two days to take him to his regular vet on Monday. The "vet" became even more unfriendly and AGAIN very roughly pried open his eye and stated "well there's nothing in it maybe it's allergies", she recommended allergy and pain medication. Although she didn't even bother with even the most basic exam much less spend even two minutes looking at him, I agreed to the recommendations so I could at least offer my animal some relief until we could get to another clinic. About ten minutes after the "vet" leaves, another employee comes in and presents me with a bill for OVER $450. I stated the "vet" had recommended allergy and pain meds and asked which of the charges were for that. The employee was very nice and did try to explain what each of the charges were for but her explanations were completely contradicting what the "vet" had just said. I became angry and requested a bill for the office charge, gave the employee cash for the visit and left the room to wait at the reception desk for my change and a receipt. The employee and "vet" obviously didn't realize I was still in the building and could overhear them because the "vet" went on a very in-depth and extremely unflattering tangent about me personally as well as my obvious over reaction. I listened to her rant for about five minutes before the she thought to ask "so she just left?" to which I replied "No, I've been standing out here listening to you talk shit about me." It suddenly became very quiet and the employee soon reappeared with my change and the requested receipt. I asked for the original bill I was presented with but they "didn't save it because treatment was declined". I ended up driving for almost two hours to take the dog to another treatment facility. Turns out, HE HAD THE TIP OF A FOXTAIL IN HIS EYE. Total amount of the second vet visit INCLUDING removal, pain meds and eye drops... slightly over $150. No special dye, observations or any of the other many procedures the Animal Emergency Clinic "vet" tried to bill me for were necessary. The only thing that was needed for the problem to be spotted was for someone to take a little bit of time and care. Whoever this female "vet" is... You are a horrible person, with an absolutely despicable personality and abysmal bedside manner. You have zero compassion or morals and appear to be interested only in how much money you can scam off of people. I sincerely hope karma bites you on the ass. To the rest of the vets and staff of the Animal Emergency Clinic, I hope you get rid of this horrible person soon. You get really good reviews, the majority of the negative reviews you garner seem to be related with the female "vet", you only have one on staff... Anyone else see a problem here? Read Less
