Me and my husband have been bringing our dogs here for 2 years going on 3 now and they have always been so kind to us !! The pet rewards card is totally worth it ! We only had one dog when we started here, after a year got another puppy and brought her through the same process. The vets have always been very gentle and understand that our dogs are australian cattle dogs and can be sketchy at times when they are scared but they give them time to relax and everything before they take them back. I would never want to take our dogs anywhere else 😊We just recently got them spayed and neutured here at a very resonable price. Any questions we've ever had coming here have always been answered. This animal hospital was fantastic! I took my little girl here yesterday (Tuesday) morning at 8am to get spayed, and by 1030am they called me to let me know she got out of surgery and was recovering well. When I got there to pick her up, everyone was very helpful and friendly. They gave me post op instructions and sent me on my way. They give us the full perspective of any issue and choices of services before proceeding, which is critical! Prior to purchasing my dog I called the humane society and unfortunately they did not cover the specific dog I was going to get. They referred me to this veterinarian so I called and right away they were nice, gave me all the information I needed including their rewards program. When I got there the receptionist was very nice. We waited for a little bit and then were called back. While we waited it was nice that they had an area for my boyfriends son to play in. The dog had some complications and the doctor and nurse were very gentle and informative. The nurse that was helping us even gave me samples of what we needed to use. Everyone there is very professional and seems genuinely happy to assist you, and Dr. Simons is a very caring vet. I have four different pets that I take there for annual check-ups and as necessary, and have always received quality service and care. Dr. Simons will even show me what she saw on the x-rays so I can see for myself. I trusted this vet to exam my dog. I got a free exam with them because the humane society gave me a voucher. This exam turned into 240 bucks real quick. They want a expensive fecal test witch cost $85 bucks normally at any other vet it's like bucks. The gave my dog pills for a kennel cough $20 bucks times two. Then they talked me into paying $125 bucks for a rewards card to use with them. So apparently my dog was just fine he had something stuck in his throat that he expelled. The vet was a nice lady but she milked me for allot of money and did very very little. Oh to top it off a dental cleaning to get off tarter cost $595 bucks at this joint I would stay clear of this place. Read Less

I took my 4 month old golden retriever to the Vista location to get spayed through the Helping Paws program. They treated me and my dog incredibly well. We were taken back to a room and throughly explained the procedure and the Doctor preformed a wellness exam in front of me. The Doctor was very loving to my puppy and my puppy was so comfortable she didn't even hesitate going back with the Doctor. I could not be happier with this program. I even received a phone call the next day making sure my puppy was doing well. They offered the best package they offer completely for free to say thanks to military families. This family is extremely appreciative. I would not hesitate to take either of my two dogs to any of the these animal hospitals. If you are a military family or know a military family let them know about this program. It helps so much and our fur babies are like children to us. Crooks...We have used Mohnacky for our German Shepherd over the years and have always had a bad taste in our mouths after we leave. This last time we took our dog there they charged us 200 dollars for some ear drops for an "ear infection". We originally came in because she had a bubble on the tip of her ear (a blood filled sac called a hematoma) which they said it would cost 1400 to fix. They then later told us that she had a fox tail in her ear which was the root of the problem for her injured ear. So they wanted a total of 1800 dollars for us to get treatment for our dog. We felt really uneasy with this and felt like we were getting conned so we decided to take her to another vet to get a second opinion. On our second evaluation, we brought the estimates they gave us and showed the other vet. He basically laughed and couldn't believe they tried to charge that much for such a simple procedure. He basically said he could remove the bubble by draining the fluid without surgery for 150. He then checked for her "fox tail" and said there wasn't even one in there! Don't fall for the "free vaccines" Mohnacky advertises! They lure you in with that but try and up sale you on everything including trying to sell you their dog insurance which is crap. They are the worst people who try and tug at your heart strings because they know people love their pets. Plus the front desk receptionist is totally condescending with RBF.  Stay away from these people. They will rob you blind. Read Less

This location is definitely much cleaner than the Carlsbad location but I had an appointment at 9:30am for my 2 yorkies that took forever! First of all I arrived and stood forever waiting for them check me in. Then someone else arrived and she was a talkative and pushy lady so they checked her in first even though the receptionist acknowledged I was first. Okay, I could forgive that they didn't wanna deal with that annoying old lady and I let it go BUT I wasn't taken to the exam room until 10:25. Once there then I had to wait for the Vet to do a checkup which lasted 5 minutes for 2 dogs. She left saying she would be right back to get the dogs to get them vaccinated and I proceeded to wait 25 minutes until someone else came back in to quote me the price and then leave saying, "someone will be right in to vaccinate them". I finally walked out of there a full 2 hours later. It's ridiculous! Mohnacky is definitely not what it used to be! Read Less

I love coming here for my dogs. They have a rewards card which is fantastic, especially when you have a repeat offender like my dog is. They are very caring with my dogs and they remember us every time we come in. They are expensive, but then again the quality is top notch, and it's just a few minutes away from my house. They are very accommodating as well, because I've had to reschedule a whole lot, sometimes last minute. I would absolutely reccomend them to anyone. I woke up one morning to my baby having diharrea and drooling. My first instance led me to some research that told me to give her imodium, which helped but she was still laying around. I called her vet at Mohnacky and they told us to bring her in. This is where the horror began. We brought her in, at first her exam was normal according to the vet but she insisted that we did a work up of blood work, x-ray and stool testing and quoted us for meds which came up too close to $600.00. This is NOT something we can afford right now, the vet just said her exam was normal so why does she need all of these meds. They explained to treat her for bacteria or a stomach whatever and if it goes away then she'll be fine. Ok we opted out with the blood work and the meds total $300. While leaving she had a accident in front of the business, when the lady came out to clean it she noticed "blood". So my husband got scared and told them to get a sample now we are at $80 more. Now we are on our way home, she's fine still not active. We get home and the hubby gives first rounds of meds, the pain meds tremidol was too freaking strong. And she began to drool to where it was  uncontrollable. So they were already closed, I called asap in the morning and they told me to bring her in. When I  did the lady at the front was RUDE, because we were late yes they expected us to get from camp pendleton to Vista in 15 min. Then the vet told us to leave her while they go to lunch. Another quote came out for something close to $400 for visit and x ray to make sure she was not "obstructed". My husband agreed. While gone we got a phone call saying we need to come back its urgent that they speak with us. When we arrived the first x ray didn't work now they need one with contrast. My poor husband began to cry his eyes out because she is showing us an x ray pointing to a possible "twist in our baby stomach. She wasted no time shoving a quote down our throats for a x ray with contrast a surgery and a stay in the hospital, which would happen somewhere else because they are closed on Sundays. Now they send in the office manager to discuss payment. So I explained to her we don't have money, we are lucky the care credit was approved because we have no credit everything we own is in our parents name. I'm a college student and he is military. She says" well can you guys call someone". I said yes we've been calling home but our parents isn't available. So she asks me if I want to at least try for a citi card. I told yes I will try! Didn't get approved so our next option because they were closing was some place the office manager recommend that helps if the dog needs surgery and already have a diagnosis paid the $400 and something dollars for what they did and we dashed out...  We get to the other place and it's the California veterinary specialist. So we give  everything that was supposed to be given to them and I asked what's the cost now? Do you guys still have the program that helps with surgery? The lady at the front desk says " $90 for visit and no its the weekend so the program isn't available. But as she was explaining everything to me my mom called and she over heard. Jumped right online applied for the care credit and got approved for $10,000. So, They took her back did the exam and compared it to what Mohnacky had on file. Let's just say it was explained that  the drooling was a side effect of one of the medications. She was dehydrated, but over all fine a very HEALTHY dog. Something or some what of a stomach bug but NOT an obstruction. No need for an x ray with contrast because her x ray Mohnacky gave did NOT show  a twist in her stomach. We left out of there spending $150 if that.  Which came with a week supply of food to change her diet and a military discount. Got home told my neighbors and guess what, their dogs had a stomach bug too! All a waste of money!!! This is why I am so upset and furious, Honey has been seeing the vet at Mohnacky since she was a puppy. They have watched her grow. She will be 2 yrs in November. So they really know her. They knew that my children and husband would literally die if something was to happen to her, hell I would too that's my daughter my only girl in between 1 man and 2 mini men! I feel we were taking advantage of. And to make matters worse NO ONE FROM MOHNACKY HAS CALLED to even follow up with us about Honey and it's been a whole MONTH. We trusted them with our baby, our family and they used that to the best of their advantage. I will never ever bring my baby back to this place and I will never refer anyone to them. My husband and I are frequent donors to helping paws but never again. They don't care about the services they gave it's all about the money!!!!One star how about none, classless place of business and yes I will be taking this to the Better Business Bureau!!! Read Less

Then he muzzled her when he tried to touch her sore spot and she jerked!!! He didnt even check her out, just said she needed a $1600 surgery! I LOVE these people.  Dr. Marcin is great, and the office staff is stellar and I wish I could keep going here, but they are just too expensive.   I know you get what you pay for, but I have to try other options to at least see if I can get my cat treated at a more reasonable price.  They don't have ultrasound onsite, so if you need that they have to call somebody in which drives up the price.  Mohnacky quoted $420.  I called two other places ... another calls in the ultrasound tech for $350 and the 3rd place does it onsite for $98.00.  Guess where I'm going?I feel bad because in two short visits, I feel attached to them but they have to be more competitive pricing wise. I brought my Dotty girl in today (03/01/16) after she stopped eating and didn't seem her happy puppy self. The team at Mohnacky Animal Hospital did an amazing job diagnosing what was making her sick. She had two objects in her tummy and intestine. Dr. Behm performed surgery and did an amazing job. Dotty is home recovering tonight thanks to Dr. Behm and the incredible staff at Mohnacky. I brought my cat in for uti. They said she needed emergency surgery or she would die from bladder stones & wanted $4000 to do it. Obviously I couldn't afford it. Talked to a friend who sent me to another vet. No surgery! Just a prescription diet & an antibiotic shot. Had a similar situation with my dog where they wanted $5000 to do surgery on her. After the cat incident, 2nd vet did surgery for $1500. Dr Martin at ABC in San Marcos is great! Read Less

DO NOT come here, it was a horror story, for me unfortunately. I am ashamed of having come here and having your poor medical team make my puppy suffer. Long story short because i could rant all about how upset i am with this hospital but its not worth my time - My dog was spayed here and got a really bad infection, the only reason i came here was for the helping paws program for active duty members, which covers a free spay, presurgical bloodwork, and IV cath/fluids. Great, so i went for it. When i looked at her sutures it looked like and un-experienced technician had sutured, and a few days later is when the infection flared up and the sutured area was extremely swollen( i wish google would let me upload a pic ) . Not sure what they used, maybe the surgical scrub, or if it was the nylon sutures she was having a reaction to, which is common. I called to make an appointment because i was extremely concerned this was happening to my pup and she was in discomfort, and the receptionist told me they couldn't accommodate to see me when i had gotten off work ( which was still within their business hours) even though my dog was uncomfortable and the next available appointment was the next morning and i would have to pay 58 dollars for an office visit. I am surprised at the receptionist that should have some knowledge of veterinary medicine that she turned me down and didn't know the severity of the manner when i was telling her my dog was in discomfort and what was going on. Later on i got a call from the doctor apologizing and having her tell me to bring my dog in, but informed her i already had her taken care of. She insisted I come the next day, for her to look at my dog for free, but i of course did not go... NO WAY. To continue, She now is in great care with a different doctor, and if the swelling does not subside there is a possibility the doctor will have to re-suture due to the poor quality of suturing and reaction. I understand this procedure was free, but it could have been done well, especially if it was to benefit service members. My chief argument is that just because it was free, and due to my pet suffering i should not have been treated different than any other client and should have had the opportunity to have have had my suffering pup seen by the doctor that did the surgery , but was turned down during business hours by their receptionist. Again Mohnacky hospital , with my deepest regrets, I am ashamed of having come here and having your poor medical team make my pet suffer.Read Less

The best trip ever to the vet today. Dr. Murphy, Nurse Dani, and the rest of the staff were amazing! Our visit was for a neuter with their military Helping Paws program and they were so very patient with my very nervous furbaby. Dr Murphy spent about 30 minutes giving him the opportunity to calm down and get to know them. Everyone was very compassionate and helpful. I was looking for a new place to take my cat for her checkups and what really caught my eye about Mohnacky was that they had a feline friendly practice. They had a separate entrance and examination area just for cats, which I think is amazing. Dr. Behm and all the Vet Techs are meticulous and you can tell they all really care about the wellfare of their furry patients. They are knowledgeable open, friendly and very easy to work with. They didn't hesitate to get me in, even though I knew they didn't have any official appointment times available. Every single person that helped us was genuinely trying to make Rose feel better. They put together a great plan of care that was relatively inexpensive and immediately helped Rose. Having had a bad experience with another vet, I was cautious my first visit with Dr. Murphy. My dog isn't naturally compliant or friendly, and he was being seen for an injury. Dr. Murphy DIDN'T have me lift him onto the table (which would have upset him greatly), she sat on the floor to examine him. Everyone in the office was wonderful with Scrappy, and I'm thrilled to once again have a vet I trust. Hopefully, my fur-family will be Dr. Murphy's patients for life! Read Less
