I have been going to Laurel Pet Hospital off and on for the past 5 years since moving into the neighborhood, and I have never experienced more inconsistent and careless service and attention to my pet.I boarded my dog there several times early on, and she came back a virtual basket case every time. I found out that they spend a total of 20 min a day outside of their tiny cages, and then they are left in their cages, unattended for the rest of the day. 10 min walk in the morning, 10 minute walk at night.Several times I scheduled an appointment several days in advance (for everything from a routine vaccination, to a check up, to a regular dog illness) and the majority of the time I would not be brought back into an exam room until a good 15-20 minutes after my appointment time (after they ask you to show up 10-15 min early). So by this time I have been there for 30 minutes, 15 minutes over my scheduled appointment time, and then we'll sit in the exam room for sometimes upwards of 45 minutes! So a scheduled check up that should take 15-20 minutes total, turns into a stressful, 90 minute ordeal. No apologies, no checking in on us, just shoulder shrugs and a "f-off" attitude. The front desk help is rarely helpful. They grunt and mumble, blather on about their personal lives, and office gossip in front of customers and patients, and all in all pay little attention to what they should actually be doing. The final straw that broke the camel's back? Last Tuesday I called in and spoke to the operator and informed them that my dog had been suffering from diarrhea for a few days and that the chicken and rice diet was not helping her. They said I could bring her in on Thursday morning to see Dr. Todd. Since I was the 2nd patient/customer of the day we were thankfully only held back 5 min past our scheduled appointment time and Dr. Todd got to our exam room in short order. He examined her, was professional, and frankly one of the better Vets I have interacted with there. He set her up with a prescription and said if I don't see improvement in a couple days to bring in a stool sample. So come Sunday morning she hadn't improved so I got the sample and took it into the office at 8am Sunday morning. She was literally unlocking the front door as we arrived. Dropped the sample off. Sunday, Monday went by and no call. Tuesday afternoon arrived and still no word so I called the vet and asked for a status update. The operator put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said the sample had been sent in on Monday (not Sunday when I dropped it off at 8am.) and to try back on Wednesday for an update. Okay. So I call back today (Wednesday, 6/28) at 1 pm. Operator puts me on hold and says nothing back from the lab but she will investigate and call me back. 10 minutes later I get a call and the operator informs me that SURPRISE! The lab doesn't have the sample, it never arrived. But Laurel Pet Hospital is CERTAIN they sent it in. So somewhere between the Pet Hospital and The Lab, my dog's turd vanished. I'm hoping these people didn't eat it at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had.So there you have it. If you want horrible customer service, a stressed out dog, and careless medical attention for your pet, than the SUPER OVERPRICED Laurel Pet Hospital is for you. If you want the care you'd naturally expect from a pet hospital, I don't know what to tell you, because I haven't found one in West Hollywood. Open to suggestions.I hope someone from LPH reads this and takes it to heart. You have absolutely atrocious customer service and terrible practices. Refunding me the money does not help my dog who continues to be sick and suffer because of the careless and irresponsible practices of this third rate organization. Thankfully you have celebrities who are completely divorced from their pet's day to day realities to pump money at a place like this to keep it open and employing these low quality providers of mediocre to poor pet care.
