A couple of years ago I brought my six-yr old Papillon, Lindsay, to Dr Innes after she had torn her ACL in her hind leg. She could not use the leg at all. I had consulted with a large clinic in Ventura, but left feeling that it was almost "factory surgery", along with a price quote that seemed quite high, although I ultimately wanted the best care and and outcome for her. After going to Dr Innes, where I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff, he examined her, gave me a thorough presentation of what needed to be done, and the potential outcome, not to mention a reasonable price for surgery and recovery, he ultimately performed the surgery and follow-up therapy. Dr Innes made it very clear that he would be available for any questions or concerns during that time (and he was!!). Three years later, Lindsay runs and moved as though she had never had a surgery, and I truly believe her recovery was aided by the care and professional attention she received from Dr Innes and his staff. Makes me wish he was in my Anthem network....I have recommended Village Vet to *everyone*! Read Less

My dogs and my whole family truly appreciate Dr. Innes and his kind staff. Dr. Innes takes a lot of time explaining and educating and providing options. He truly cares about all animals and is very kind to humans, as well. My dogs have both had serious surgeries and he is extremely skilled. They both recovered quickly and never seemed uncomfortable even though both of their surgeries were very involved. He is excellent at keeping them comfortable and that means everything to me. I highly recommend Dr. Innes  if you want your animals to have extra special care. Read Less

Dr. Innes and his staff are immensely caring and very qualified.   I took them my pet tortoise who had lost a leg.  The time they spent to ensure he got all the right care was above and beyond and the cost they charged was far less than I expected.    I also take my cat there.  Dr. Innes is great about providing great care and being honest with me about what is really needed and where I can save money.   His staff is always friendly and appointments are made quickly.     I love Village Vet!!! Dr. Innes is such a great and understanding vet.  He was so gentle with my older cat.  I am in kind of a bind right now and I asked him to please find out what was wrong with her (UTI) with the least expensive and invasive way possible.  Its not a Drs. job to care about the peoples checkbook, but he was very fair and seemed to really care about not only getting my baby fixed up but that it was a fee I could afford. He is wonderful with the pets who are not feeling well AND the pet parents that are afraid the visit will break the bank!I would go to no other Vet for my two kitties.  Such a great dr and staff.  Thank you!!!Dawn Read Less

It's hard to substantiate when you feel like you're being taken by a professional who has all of the knowledge, so please take this with a grain of salt.  On more than one occasion I left this vet with the feeling that I was being sold treatment that was unnecessary.  After our last visit I decided to seek a second opinion.  Our bill with our new vet was $288, a  fraction of the Village Vet recommended treatment that was approx $1500.  I write this review so if there is anyone else who has had the same feeling but isn't quite sure, maybe this will help.  I am now certain that we were treated as a revenue source. Dr. Innes could not be a better Vet. Seriously. If you want your pet to live the longest and healthiest life possible then go to him. My husband and I have been taking our Yellow Labrador to Dr. Innes since he was a 10 week old puppy and he is now almost 4 years old. As you may know, Labs get into a lot of things the first 2 years and Dr. Innes saved our dog from many situations, stomach bugs, food reactions, etc. Dr. Innes also follows up after each visit and keeps a clean, comfortable office. He might be a little pricey because he is not a chain but it really isn't a few dollars more than the next guy. Negligible amount at most. You aren't paying much more and you are getting very high quality care. Read Less

Dr. Innes is the definition of a caring veterinarian.  He has been caring for my stepmom's dogs for years.  Now she is very ill and the dogs have had a wonderful foster mom for some time.  We had to make the decision to finally lay the older dog, who was quite old and had many health problems, to rest today.  Dr. Innes was so kind.  Being unable to be there myself, Dr. Innes took the time to call me throughout the last week of decisions, up until today.  He let me know that our old Havanese went in peace and chatted with me for a while about him.  He's a vet with a huge heart and truly loves his animals.
