I first went here about two years ago with my two dogs since it was close, there were good Yelp reviews, and the appointment availability was great. My senior pup made quite a mess there and was quite difficult in his old age, and because the vet was patient with him, I felt obligated to stick with this vet with my younger dog after my senior pup went on to doggie heaven, though my husband had misgivings about this vet. He's different from other vets, not what I'd call warm and seemed a bit disorganized, but he seemed competent. However, what always bugged me the most was that the vet seemed very reluctant to fill prescriptions that I ordered elsewhere. I've always ordered preventatives online as it was less expensive and more convenient. When my senior dog needed meds, I started purchasing those from Costco because it was so much less. My previous vets never made a fuss about it. The vet here though, I would always get a call that made me feel pressured to purchase from him. The latest thing is what made me finally decide to change vets, and it the first time I've changed vets not due to moving! I had ordered a 6 mos supply online previously (I got a call from him then, where he reluctantly approved a 6 mos supply based on the time of my dog's last heartworm test). I also purchased a 6 mos supply for my new pup which I actually purchased from the vet when I took both dogs to see him 6 mos ago (annual for my older dog, new exam/shots for my new pup). Now I needed more heartworm meds for both. I placed an online order this week for two sets of heartworm meds, a 6 mos supply for each pup. Since I brought both pups to see the vet 6 mos ago, I thought I should be able to get a 6 mos supply for each pup until their next annual exam. Not surprisingly, he calls me about the order. What did surprise me was that he tells me both dogs need heartwork exams. I told him but I just brought them in 6 mos ago, did they not have a heartworm exam then? He has to check his records while we're on the phone (shouldn't he have done this before he called me?), and apparently he didn't do one for my older dog since over a year and a half ago. My new pup had one, but as he's almost a year old now, he should have another one. I just searched heartworm tests online and they say you shouldn't do a heartworm test on puppies less than 6-7 mos old as they would show up negative, so maybe he it was the other way around, the older one had one and the new one didn't? Though that doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Anyway, I told him it's been so difficult to get orders filled that I'm going to try using a new vet. He said he's required to have the tests done by law, which I understand, I wasn't asking him for the prescriptions without the tests. The point is that I felt that they should've been done and this just adds to the frustration of ordering of prescriptions elsewhere. Read Less
