This place doesn't even deserve this star, but in order to post a review I have to give them at least one star. My friend was taking care of this really sick puppy. My friend was waiting in the parking lot for 2 hours with a 6 month old puppy who was really sick. They wouldnt let her in until the owner was there. This place called and authorized it for the dog to come in but once the owner got there and my friend was at the door, they shut the door in her face. Within minutes we watched the puppy take his last breath.

Oakwood animal hospital is and always will be my choice to take my dogs. The moment you walk thru the door they make you and your pet feel like you are part of they're family. The Dr's are amazing, and prices that won't break you. I had to bring my friend who unfortunately drug her dog under her truck, unknowingly. Well, after driving to 3 vet's and being told they couldn't help us, we called Oakwood and they said to bring her. After getting the dog out of my car and onna a stretcher (she weighs over 100lbs and is that old also) the girls took her to the back. Unfortunatly the outcome was not a good one, because the injuries were to extensive, but the compassion for my friend and her beloved dog goes unsurpassed. Thank you so much for being so kind to my friend and her dog.

My cat had been a patient with VCA Oakwood Hospital for 11 plus years. She was always treated with kindness and expert treatment. The Vet's there are out of this world they are so understanding and made me feel that they truly cared about my cat. The entire staff is exceptional and caring.
This facility will be my Vet of choice for any animal I have.
Truly an amazing facility from minor issues to major issues.
I highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs animal care and/or is looking for a new Vet.

I went to a vet appointment here with my mom the other day, and unfortunately I can't remember the Dr's name... However, we were SO impressed!!! The attentiveness and positive attitude of the entire staff!! The Dr. came in and crawled right on the floor with my mom's dog, who is normally very anxious at the vet, and stand-offish with new people, especially men; but within 5 minutes she was laying in his lap, like they were old buddies! My mom & I both HIGHLY recommend this vet! Cost wise, they offer you FULL SERVICE up front with all the bells & whistles for treatment... If that doesn't fit your budget, they will happily whittle it down to a plan that fits your budget, and covers the basic need of your pet.

We had to euthanize our family pet today and VCA Oakwood Animal Hospital was compassionate and considerate with the entire affair. They clearly described the process in the most humane way so as to make even the youngest child feel comfortable. VCA provided a small private room for the family to be with our loving pet throughout the short process. Thank you VCA for your caring assistance through this sad process.

I have been working here for about 4-5 years. I highly recommend clients to take their pets here! All of our staff and doctors treat your pet just how you would want to be treated we're kind loving nurturing and make sure that we do the best for your pet, rather if it's in your budget or not we just want you and your pets to be safe and healthy I can personally say that our staff goes above and beyond for each patient that comes through our door every day I love working here! Also love taking pictures of your pets for their portfolio's on their charts which also prints out on your receipt. Please come see our fabulous doctors Dr. Allan and Dr. Lindsey.

Refused to fax prescription to VIPPS certified pharmacy. Resulted in delay in meds for my dog. Not follow California law to offer prescription for medications rather than use their medications.

I love this vet so much I have driven all the way from Sacramento! ( recently moved to Elk Grove) . They are the first vet that I have felt actually cares about my dogs and doesn't make me feel like a bad pet owner for not wanting to spend more than I need! I took my dog to them for a laceration on the leg. When the nurse and then the vet came in they both got down to my dogs level to make him more comfortable, I've never had a vet do this before. They also accept care credit and compared to other vets didn't charge me an arm and a leg for the same services.

Dr. Allan is wonderful! She treated my pit bull with love and care. She wasn't afraid of him at all even though his breed doesn't have the best reputation. Saw Dr. Lindsey for the recheck and he got down on the floor and was very caring.

This place doesn't even deserve this star, but in order to post a review I have to give them at least one star. My friend was taking care of this really sick puppy. My friend was waiting in the parking lot for 2 hours with a 6 month old puppy who was really sick. They wouldnt let her in until the owner was there. This place called and authorized it for the dog to come in but once the owner got there and my friend was at the door, they shut the door in her face. Within minutes we watched the puppy take his last breath.

Oakwood animal hospital is and always will be my choice to take my dogs. The moment you walk thru the door they make you and your pet feel like you are part of they're family. The Dr's are amazing, and prices that won't break you. I had to bring my friend who unfortunately drug her dog under her truck, unknowingly. Well, after driving to 3 vet's and being told they couldn't help us, we called Oakwood and they said to bring her. My cat had been a patient with VCA Oakwood Hospital for 11 plus years. She was always treated with kindness and expert treatment. The Vet's there are out of this world they are so understanding and made me feel that they truly cared about my cat. The entire staff is exceptional and caring.
This facility will be my Vet of choice for any animal I have.
Truly an amazing facility from minor issues to major issues.

We had to euthanize our family pet today and VCA Oakwood Animal Hospital was compassionate and considerate with the entire affair. I love this vet so much I have driven all the way from Sacramento! ( recently moved to Elk Grove) . They are the first vet that I have felt actually cares about my dogs and doesn't make me feel like a bad pet owner for not wanting to spend more than I need! I took my dog to them for a laceration on the leg. When the nurse and then the vet came in they both got down to my dogs level to make him more comfortable, I've never had a vet do this before.
