Wonderful staff and veterinarians. They were able to set up a same day appointment with Dr. Clifton to see my rat who needed a tumor removal. Surgery was set for two days later, and they made drop off and pick up efficient and comfortable. Dr. Tucker was great. Came here for the first time today. Had a yearly checkup for my cat Bella. Everybody was so nice and welcoming. Dr Tucker gave great advice and was very caring. While we were evacuated recently our dog needed care. The staff was very compassionate to our situation and were able to schedule an appointment for the following day. Their caring and ability to help on short notice was a great comfort. We have been going to Animal Care Clinic of Woodland for ten years and have never had a bad experience. We have two cats and dog. As for the prices - compared to other vets they are by far fair and we always get plenty of time with the vet and the staff-never rushed and never trying to sell us things we do not need. We have many friends in Woodland who take their animals to this vet and they, like us have many years of trust built with this office. They are not an emergency, after hours vet office from what I understand so you may need to go to a vet that offers emergency type services, just like humans if you go to a clinic for a life threatening situation you will be sent to the ER - same with vets from my experiences. Of course, everyone has different experiences in business dealing with service providers...good service and fair prices have always been my experience with Animal Care Clinic of Woodland. Your experience may be different for a variety of reasons but I can tell you they do care deeply for the animals entrusted in their care - our animals NEVER come back traumatized from dental cleanings or any other type of procedure that has required them to stay. THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I went in with a dying puppy that I had kept alive Since Monday (the day I brought him was Friday) I rushed in and told them the situation (believing he could be saved with a supplemental shot) and the staff went to the back to talk to the Doctor and came back saying that they were close to closing (the time was 5:28pm and the posted closing time is 6:00 pm) he told me that the doctor was on the phone and tried directing me to other Vet clinics and I told him that they were my best bet,he went to the back to talk to the the doctor about emergency examination and I asked if he would just simply walk from his office in the back to the front desk and look at him,the doctor refused to see him,he refused to talk to me,he wouldn't even show his face,I didn't even hear his name,keep in mind the walk from the back to the front desk is about 10ft probably les,and he wouldn't even yell any piece of advice to me, I walked with the puppy from the clinic to where we were parked (the curb about 15ft away from the front deck) and when I got to the truck he started die and I tried to save his life for the 5th time since he was born and it didn't work this time, to add to it the puppy was from a very well breed English Pointer Champion, I have never been more mistreated as a potential customer EVER and disrespected Read Less

We switched to Animal Care Clinic from Woodland Vet Hospital several years ago when we tired of WVH's high fees (we sort of felt like we were funding the fancy building) and we couldn't always see the same vet.  We love the Animal Care Clinic.  The veterinary technicians are all  competent and friendly, and Dr. Tucker is the best.  She has cared for our aging dog, who has had routine care as well as surgery, at the clinic.  She is conservative in her treatment, but also is very honest to say what her recommendations are for our dog.  She is never rushed with him, and it is obvious that she really respects animals. Even though I am a veterinarian myself, I take my dogs here because of the expert and compassionate care provided by Dr. Tucker and staff. There are many things that I can do myself, but at the same time, as an equine vet, I am out of the loop on current standard of care and all the possible explanations for a particular presenting complaint. One of the reasons I chose this clinic is because of the extra training and certification that Dr. Tucker has in general practice. That shows me a dedication to the best care possible. The physical exam provided for each dog was thorough and complete. The recommendations were reasonable and in the best interest of my dogs for preventative healthcare and their comfort. But I also appreciate their consideration for my wallet. Recommendations are discussed, and weighed against cost, so the client feels informed and included in the decision-making process. My dog has an allergy condition, and Dr. Tucker recommended first trying an over the counter medication which is super cheap. It worked, which allowed me to help my pet, and also not to have to return for costly re-check visits. She didn't have to do that; she could have recommended something with a better efficacy that costs more.All in all, a wonderful clinic. Read Less

This is by far the best Veterinary Clinic I've ever taken any pet to.Dr. Tucker is my angel.I have done through cancer, heartworm treatments and many other terrible pet issues. I have been seeing Dr, Pia Tucker with my small dogs for several years now. First she cared for my Scotland born Shih Tzu and now my Maltese Macduff. She was recommended to me and I was completely happy with her sympathetic care of my wee four pawed friends from day one. Her staff are first rate and extremely courteous.  Her facility is comfortable, extremely clean and attractively done in a homey manner which I believe is somehow soothing to pets and their owners.  My MacDuff is facing surgery soon. I dread it for both of us. However, I can't help know that he will enjoy a positive outcome because he is under the masterful care of one of the best veterinary doctors practicing. So happy with my experience here. Babycakes (my Westie) went missing 6/28. He was found 7/8 in Davis. When I picked him up the vet there told me he had a skin infection. Something he didn't have before. I called the first vet I could think of which was this one and at told them the situation. They soonest they could get me in was the following day. That was no problem. Literally 15 minutes later they called me back to tell me they had an opening in an hr. It was truly appreciated. All in all they shaved his infected hot spots and gave me antibiotics and steroids for him. It cost me about $100 total which u thought was so resonable and unexpected. Not only is Dr. Tucker one of the most compassionate vets I have ever met but a woman with a good heart.  The entire office took extraordinary care of my male cat Felix who had to have surgery because of feline crystals. After complications because of the severity of his problem, Dr. Tucker reassured me to stay positive and told me not to give up hope and she was right. I love my cats with all my heart and the women in the office and even Dr. Clifton knew it. They are all very educated and informative on procedures and a whole lot less expensive than vets in Davis (although visits are slightly more, procedures are about half).  Even the front desk ladies were very knowledgeable,  kind and helpful. The map is wrong about were it is, its around the corner ON 5th street. They have been by FAR the kindest clinic in town. I was pricing to get my cat fix and called every clinic in town, some were so disrespectful i wanted to hang up on them and others were over priced and wouldn't tell me what i was spending my money on. Animal Care Clinic was more then willing to explain everything to me even before i asked my questions. I've been taking my pets here for a long time... and the new owners(may have been there a while as I was without a pet) are just as good as the old owner! Best prices, caring people that don't mess around. I think they are the best in Yolo County. My dog gets her shots at the pet store through VIP, but she was fixed here and they do a great job at a very fair price. Read Less

I like this clinic. We took our cats here years ago and started going back to them after trying out another vet. I like the people and I like that I can call and get an appointment the same day. I don't like the prices (high) but isn't this true of every good vet clinic? Read Less

We took are cats here when we lived in Davis, and always had a good experience. The appointments were on time, the staff was friendly, and the vets happily put up with our slightly misbehaved and extremely vet-shy cats. :) They're also great at reminding you of upcoming shots for the pets. Read Less
