We love this place!! The staff is very efficient and everyone loves animals. The clinic is extremely clean and very organized. The Vets are always very thorough, caring with our animals, and are good at recommending alternative options if they don't know what the answer is. The building is nice inside and they have a waiting area with a TV playing Netflix. The staff was friendly and personable and I could see they really enjoyed being around animals. We brought a kitten in we had adopted for this visit and it had some issues coming from the shelter. They explained what was going on and took the time to demonstrate how to administer the medicine . Only reason it didn't get five stars we scheduled an appointment in advance and we ended up having to wait about 30 minutes past our appointment time. We took my 13 year old lab in today, thinking that we were going to have to put her down. Everyone was amazingly kind and helpful. Once we were there, the vet discussed our options with us. We decided not to euthanize her at this point, but to try some treatment options for the stroke she had. The entire staff was empathetic, caring and supportive. Brought in my baby Joy who was foaming at the mouth and convulsing in a c. She was having a stroke. YAH saw her immediately. The staff and the other patients were great. Everyone knew seconds were critical, helped, and were patient. I am happy to say that because of their immediate action Joy is recovering strong. My first experience with this vet was last month, when my little dog passed away. I was out of state visiting family. My daughter stayed home and her Godmother was searching her. I got a call one day during my trip. It was my daughter. She was crying and so upset. My little dog that I loved soooooo much had passed away. I was so devastated and felt so guilty because I was so far away. I went onto my phone and researched vets near my home and found this one. I called them, crying, and explained the situation. Without even being a current client, they allowed me to arrange to have my best friend bring my dog to their office for cremation. They were very sweet and helpful, and allowed me to do everything via telephone from another state. My best friend said they were very quick and allowed her to call them when she arrived and they came outside and carried my dog in. In only a few days I was able to pick up his ashes, a clay paw print, and a sweet card.  My lil guy was so important to me. They really made an awful situation a little bit better.     My recent experience was today. I brought my Chihuahua mix to their office as a walk-in. We had no appointment and it was shot clinic day. I was in a pinch when I needed vet services after my 20lb Brittany spaniel, Bella, decided to get herself tangled up in chicken wire! There was still a piece of wire embedded in her paw that I could not pull out - turned out to be wrapped around the pads of her paws - and it took 3 vet techs to hold her down LOL. What I liked about Yucaipa Animal is that even though there was going to be a 40 min wait to see the vet, they let me leave my Bella there so once the doc was available she would be seen. Mind you, I live 4 minutes away from the hospital...Hopefully you don't need vet services for something sad or bad for your furry baby but if you do I would recommend Yucaipa Animal Hospital. A very clean veterinary office with friendly people working the front desk and a very nice vet.  He seemed friendly and very knowledgeable.  My only problem was the long wait.  I waited an hour before we saw the vet, I don't know why it took so long as it wasn't that busy.  I'm willing to give it another chance tho and I hope next time it won't take so long. I used this think this was the best animal hospital around until our last visit. At the beginning of April my dog had a super swollen face when we looked in his mouth we noticed he had fox tails all over his mouth. He had one large swollen pocket. There was a clear area where you could tell one buried in there. Once we dropped him off the vet said it was a tooth issue and pulled two teeth. That was a $600+ bill. They put him on pain killers and antibiotics. His swelling went down besides the one pocket in his cheek. I called and i was told it may just be scar tissue or swollen. Well once he finished his antibiotics cycle his faced swelled up to where he could not even open his eyes. We took him back to the vet, this time they then agreed that he had a fox tail. We all know that fox tails bury deeper and deeper the longer they are in the body. Well they had to cut my dogs cheek open,and dig the fox tail out. Once the got the fox tail they inserted a drain and had to stitch up his cheek. The vet called prior to the 2nd surgery and said it would be around $200.00 more. He even told me that he pulled teeth from my dog that wasn't even the issue. Once i went to pick him up they wanted $400.00 for the 2nd surgery when it was their mistake in the first place. DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. They don't check your pets like they should. They should have done xrays before pulling my dogs teeth. Just save time and money and find a vet that cares. Read Less

We have​been bringing our animals here since we moved to Calimesa in 1983. They are wonderful and the doctors will even discuss possible problems over the phone and if a trip to the doggie doctor is warranted or not. I highly recommend Yucaipa Animal​ Hospital. Read Less

I took my 9 week old puppy here for the first time based on a recommendation from the puppy's parents owner. The Saturday low-cost shot clinic was a big plus. My puppy has received all her shots and even was groomed one time at this facility which did an excellent job! Even though I live in Riverside I still take her here because of the friendly staff and excellent care! Read Less

My only issue is that I have a dog with a chronic skin allergy and the prescribed medication works well but when I call to get her medication refilled they don't want to refill it unless I bring her in.....costing me more money and it's totally unnecessary. She's had the same allergy all her life and I should be able to get refills for her without having to pay for a vet visit. I feel like the staff tries to push products on me at times too. Read Less

**IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET DO NOT BRING THEM HERE**My opinion of this horrible place started 6 years ago when I brought my first dog in to get fixed. Upon picking her up the rude receptionist came back with my dog and with a nasty attitude and tone in your her voice said "your dog just peed everywhere in the cage and now I have to clean it up" ..... ugh ok 1. My dog just got out of surgery and is still so out of it she is having a hard time walking 2. Isn't that your job? You work at an Animal Hospital.....what did you think you were going to be doing when you applied? Fast forward 6 years later she has had countless problems do the the hack job that was performed on her other vets have told me all her problems are due to the horrible job the vet did. So now for my most recent experience (why I went back I don't know and I will forever fill guilty for this horrible decision) I recently brought in a litter of puppies one of my dogs just had to get their first set of shots and deworming. I had 7 beautiful healthy puppies 1 of the seven was a true runt half the size as the rest if not smaller but healthy and never showed any signs of sickness or anything wrong. They all received their shots and deworming medication the runt received what seemed to be the same amount as the rest...at the time this didn't raise any concern I figured the vet or vet tech(not sure what he was) knew more than I did after all he is the one that went to school for this. Brought the puppies home all was well they acted completely normal the next morning I went to go feed them and the runt didn't come over to the food which was odd she's usually the first one chowing down so I went over to check on her and immediately knew something was wrong she was so weak she couldn't even stand let alone lift her head I held her in my arms wrapped in her favorite blanket and sadly she passed 1 hour later the only thing that brings me some comfort is knowing in that last hour I held her close to my heart and made sure she knew how much she was loved. After speaking to multiple veterinarians she should of never been given the same amount as the other Puppies this is something that whoever administered the medication should've known! I will NEVER bring any of my animals back to this awful place and I hope that anyone who loves their animal will find another vet! This place should be closed down! Read Less

This is the best place to bring your animal.The staff are great and honestly do care about the animals and getting them well.They dont push pills and shots but instead work to find the cause and cure so your animal is back up and hummming fast.No matter how busy they are, they find the time to keep you informed I wont go anywhere else...."period". To us, we want to feel comfortable and for Moosey to feel safe as well and the are a loving group of people that love our babies. This review is for the grooming. I have been going to pet smart since Emma (my dog) came home with us. Recently she needed her second year rabies shots so I took her to Yucaipa animal hospital and decided to make a grooming appointment there as well, since she hasn't been to the groomer for a while due to her rabies shot renewal needs.I was hoping it would be a good experience since it's close to home and less expensive but it was not.I didn't notice the marks and cuts until after I brought Emma home but it was quite upsetting that I am leaving this review. I feel so apologetic towards my dog, she's not very fond of the groomers but she's never came home hurt before when I took her to pet smart. And to see these marks on her body makes me angry. She's a good dog, quiet, and calm for the most part. I don't understand how this happened. It looked like her fur was pulled and she was cut with something.I'm leaving this review for all other pet owners that would not like having their dog treated like this. I will not be returning!! YAH is phenomenal. The office staff are polite and knowledgeable. The tech staff are caring and will know your pets' names. And the doctors are remarkable. I spent all day there with a rescue dog who ended up needing an emergency c-section. They were awesome and updated me on how the mom was doing and how many puppies there were every 15 minutes. They immediately let me know one puppy and a cleft palate and gave me my options. They hugged me as I made the difficult decision of letting that puppy go and not suffering. I called on Saturday 7/2 at 11am. The receptionist said there was no way I could get my cat in because they were busy. I said I was pretty sure she had a urinary tract infection and wanted to get her started on antibiotics before the holiday weekend. Now I have to tell you that we have been coming to YAH for over 50 years. Not a typo. I can remember as a child when Dr Mountain met us in the office on a Christmas Day to give our cat a shot. That day plus about 10 days of treatment and meds; total charge $25. Old days, I know. But you'd think our loyalty would count for something. So when she said they were too busy, I asked for her to PLEASE try to squeeze me in quickly. She rudely told me to go to an emergency vet. I practically begged, then she put me on hold and LEFT ME ON HOLD until I finally gave up and hung up. I called Banning Vet Hospital. Same deal. Open until noon. They said, "Sure, come on in. We have walk-ins before you, but we'll get you in." A quick check, antibiotics, and my cat was in her way to wellness. The vet called me Tuesday to check on her and report the UTI was validated by tests. Excellent! Now I have to decide if I want to make a huge change after so many years. I am so disappointed with the service and disregard and rudeness of the woman on the phone.Read Less

I took my dog in because she was scratching and her stomach was black and her rear end was loosing hair and bleeding. The doctor was nice and when my dog got scared he calmed her down. The cost was 85 total for visit, a skin test and 2 meds. The young lady in the front was very friendly and smiled, she made me feel good about my decision to come here. I hate to leave a bad review but I have to. I have been going here for almost 5 years and have never had to take my dog in for anything aside from vaccinations until recently, also was pretty satisfied with the service. He had a mass removed and received staples. The newer male vet that works there initially did the procedure and did a crappy job, so I was forced to come back because the wound was opening up after day one. Thankfully the female vet fixed the issue and they sent us home with pain meds and antibiotics (which they forgot initially). Also, we have insurance for my dog and I asked kindly for them to fax the insurance company some medical records (as most vets do with no problem), they were incapable of doing even that.. I had asked 2x with no results. So I had to go in and request paper records myself and the lady was very offended and rude, because she stated that she faxed it twice. Front desk staff is rude and short with you. Unfortunately I will be leaving them and switching to Redlands Animal Hospital, they have better reviews.. Sorry to leave this place. Shame.Read Less

Horrible service!! My dog was literally dieing on the table and they sent me away with the excuse that they were too busy with dogs in the back. I waited in the waiting room, that was completely empty, and then was taken back in to an exam room, where after a quick exam from the vet I was sent away to an emergency vet all the way in Redlands! Later that evening I had to put my dog down, after driving him all over while he was dieing. I was a new customer, but am not exaggerating. This is how I was treated! I will never step foot in their office again, and what prompted this review is they have the gall to send me an appointment notice asking me to bring my dog in for vaccines!! A horrible experience, they could care less that my dog could not walk in or out of the office, he had to be carried, and was in URGENT need of medical care. Take me off your mailing list Yucaipa Animal Hospital because I have been a dog owner my whole life and have visited numerous vets, but I have never had any treat me as cold and heartless as you did!! This is a wonderful animal hospital. Very friendly and helpful. Dr. Morgan especially is tremendous. He saw my dog Ricky about a year ago when she was experiencing unusual symptoms. She was placed on medication and Dr. Morgan called me at home the next day and said he had a diagnosis. His research led to my dog being diagnosed with Addison's disease for which she now takes steroids daily and an injection about every 30 days. It was the extra time he spent to try to find the problem that impressed me so much. Thank you Dr. Morgan and all the staff. You do a wonderful, caring job. I recommend them highly. Read Less

I took my two female cats in for exams and vaccinations on Dec. 3, 2013. Dr. Hoffman and her staff were gentle and kind with both pets and made them both quite comfortable.. I take the cats in annually, and I know the doctors will treat them with care and efficiency, should I need them to examine any illness. I know also that Yucaipa Animal Hospital has vaccinations on Saturday mornings for a mere $15 each, as of this time. I thank them for their excellent service. Read Less

I had to get my cat fixed and they got him in pretty quick. The two girls in the front were very friendly and very helpful. While he was there they realized that he had a loose tooth and took care of that for me also. They all were very poliye, friendly & made me feel comfortable leaving my cat there. I am so appreciative of Dr. Morgan for his professionalism and his kindness to my shelter cats over the past months from spay and neutering to treating my little one after an accident; my pets never fear going to the vet because they are so well taken care of.Everyone at the Yucaipa Animal Hospital loves animals and is there to help. They understand your worry when your pet is ill and will do everything they possibly can to make them better and comfortable. I have also boarded my animals there for over a week and they were so well taken care of and safe that I would highly recommend their boarding services. I had adopted two shelter cats that became very sick and I was both overwhelmed and frantic as the kitten became deathly sick. From the receptionist's getting me in ASAP to Dr. Hoffman being incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and kind to help me save the lives of two shelter animals.Yucaipa is very blessed to have such a wonderful Animal Hospital & a group of animal loving people driven to care for the health of all animals with integrity & respect. If I could give the hospital staff 10 stars I would because of how well my cats & I were treated. This vet is a sick joke. I took my rabbit in for a skin and eye problem. I cant be more specific because no one ever could tell me what the problem was. I do know that they ran a test for ringworm, for $60, then they called and said they contaminated the sample so they would need us to bring my rabbit back in. I called them, just to test them, and was told the results came back negative. They gave me a medicine which my rabbit reacted badly to, then when I went in to ask for something else they just threw some cream at me, which is not made for an animal as small as a rabbit, which I only know because the label says so. We have made two requests over the course of three weeks for the vet to call us, and was told "she will try to get back to you this week," we still have not heard from the vet. They also clipped the fur off of my rabbit's problem areas, the only helpful thing they did, but not without knicking him twice. I understand rabbits arenotoriously hard to clip but I seriously dont think they even noticed, and if so they they neglected to inform us of his injuries. I hate this vet, I am so angry at them and at the fact that they scammed over a hundred dollars out of me to do nothing for my pet. Read Less
