Very friendly staff that is also very helpful and understanding if you need to make schedule changes, or cancel your appointment on short notice. This is an extraordinary animal hospital. The place is run with serious behavioral science in mind, and you can feel that difference in every single interaction with every level of staff. The quality is very well controlled and their standards for themselves are high. Additionally, I'm really fond of the plans they offer, and it's helped me get a lot more proactive about my dogs' health without having to struggle to save up chunks of money at a time. Everyone there is authentically delighted to spend time with the patients, and their attentiveness to the patients is clear in their body language (they get on the floor with them and give cuddles and treats for the entire interaction, it's awesome). The quality of the care is great. They explain the pricing exceptionally clearly, and help clients strategize for affordability while still ensuring that you're fully informed about the actual implications of care decisions, so you can be confident you're choosing effective and useful procedures. This is absolutely, without a doubt, some of the best vet care one can find anywhere, and I have some excellent basis for comparison among their competitors. Adopted an eleven year old cat from The Max Fund who has health issues. He was seen within an hour of my calling this morning. Very very impressed with Dr. Leslie Dunham and her staff! She diagnosed and treated him quickly, did not push a multitude of tests, and was gentle and caring. The vet techs gave fluids and pills and did an awesome job. Front desk is great. Thank you! 4 stars as this was our first appointment. Happy to upgrade when we have more experience. Newsflash to those complaining about pricing: HEALTHCARE IS EXPENSIVE We found pricing to be in line with other REPUTABLE vets. Despite what reviews say they are in line with others in the area. We've done price checking and they aren't cheap but not high. When it comes to my families health I don't look for the "cheapest" I look for the best. I'll save money on other junk not healthcare. We had a mild emergency for our pup, they got us in right away and treated me and my pup with nothing but respect and compassion. Our Dr. and nurse spent lots of time with us explaining treatment options, never did we feel rush, pressured and pushed. They gave us all the information required to make the best decision for our dog and were very transparent on cost. They also spent a lot of time answering my questions and when trust me when I say I ask a lot of questions when it comes to medical stuff. They are open late which is great for those of us with the 8-5 grind and the office was very clean and felt safe for my dog. We will be seeing them moving forward and would suggest it to others. My dog is a part of my family and I place his health and care in as high regard as I do my own, if they meet that high standard they must be doing something right. I just can't believe all of the negative reviews for Mile High Vet. I was about to call to schedule my dog a wellness visit, but I needed to write a review before calling since I just don't understand the low rating.We've been going here for over a year now and have nothing but great things to say. The first time we came was due to our cat needed to be put down for medical reasons. The entire staff and doctor was extremely compassionate and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye. They gave us a free paw imprint of our kitty too which was thoughtful.All of our other visits have been for our Giant Schnauzer. He is almost eight years old and he hasn't had any major health issues other than a broken nail that Mile High Vet fixed up for us last year. I'm always very happy that they clearly explain our treatment options before administering any services, so I know exactly what I will be paying. I love bringing my dog here. Dr. Waskow is extremely patient and really takes interest in our dog's well being and not just her physical well being but also her mental well being. We've gotten so many helpful tips from Dr. Waskow in regards to training. Even the setup of the office is perfect for dogs with a separate entrance and exit to avoid any accidental run-ins. Like most dog owners, I spoil my dog like crazy and only want the absolute best for her. I have a 4 year old yellow lab and for the past 3 years I took her to a vet that I had to break my neck to get an appointment at, wait at least 45 min to see and then pay a giant vet bill for 1 hour of wasted time for ONE vaccination. At Mile High I am typically seen within 5 minutes of arriving, typically can schedule same day appointments and my dog is NOT afraid of this office. They strive for a stress free visit for their patients and because of that alone, going to get her check up or vaccinations is a BREEZE. She also loves the peanut butter spoons they give her for being such a great dog. I love this vet and am so pleased to have found a place my spoiled dog and I can go to for years to come!Read Less

I had a death in my family and got charged for a missed appointment fee. I went to the rescheduled visit but wasn't told at the time of the rescheduled visit for 2-shots that the total was added in with a missed appointment fee, the Tech told us the fee was $109 dollars, my husband says to the Tech "that is a high price for two shots" & she still did not say a word about missed appointment fee that was added in. I called today and spoke to the Vet and she goes on to say that she will talk to her techs for the future but would not refund the fee. I told her to keep the money & that we will never return to this place again.The prices are a rip off. They are ok with charging people above rates that other Vets charge less for. And to not care when someone has a death in the family tops it off. Read Less

Wow, we used to be so impressed with this clinic not so much anymore. We won't be taking our 3 dogs there anymore. Our youngest dog was neutered on Friday afternoon Oct. 10th on Saturday evening began having hourly bouts of vomiting and loose stools. I called Sunday morning when the vet opened to explain this and was given an appt for her to be checked out and was told it would cost $60.00 for the visit. I questioned why it wasn't considered after care for the 600.00 surgery and was told "they couldn't be sure it was related to the surgery". Are you kidding me? These people are there for the money they don't care about doing the right and responsible thing. Shame, shame, shame on you Mile High Veterinary. We will not be back and we will relay this to all the friends we recommended to this money grubbing facility. Read Less

Best vet clinic my husband and I have ever been to. My husband is not one to pay a compliment, but even he noticed how much better Mile High is than any other vet clinic we've ever used. They were communicative, informative, and no pressure to do unnecessary shots and tests. Instead of rushing us through the appointments, the Dr. spends time explaining what he finds on our dog. He gave us great suggestions on helping him lose weight, but didn't push a diet from his office. Then they had us set up weight rechecks (free) and when the dog started losing weight, you could tell how happy he was for us that our dog was getting healthier. I had Thanksgiving with my whole family last week and my niece was complaining about how her dog had gotten sick and the vet charged her a fortune for tests and still couldn't figure out what was the matter. Then 3 other family members jumped on the bandwagon and started bad-mouthing their vets. I told them about Dr. Waskow and they said that if they lived anywhere nearby (the closest one is more than 40 miles away) that they would definitely switch to Mile High. Hearing their horror stories just made me appreciate the care Dr. Waskow gives even more. My extended family might be too far away, but it you're not, take your pet to Mile High. We were referred here from a friend. I had an Australian Shepherd I adopted who needed dental work, removing a broken canine. On 1st visit, they walked me through everything, where what, how etc. I felt good about their work. Shep had 2 teeth pulled and they found a 3rd that they called me about while he was under. I told them take everything out that doesn't belong. Shep made a great recovery and they called me to check on his return to conciousness. Nice touch! Dr. Pereia was great with Shep and me and he really spent time with us. When I advised him next visit of sluggishness and slight weight gain, he diagnosed it as hypothyroidism. He was right and Shep made a remarkable recovery! Then the worst. Shep was hit by a car and we took him to an ER they recommended. I called Dr Perea and he made an appointment with us, helped us through it, called the ER and told me the real diagnosis. The ER was terrible and painted the worst picture. Next day, we had to put Shep down and I can still feel the pain and anguish. But Dr Perea was outstanding support and relayed the true information to us. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I went to Mile High Veterinary for the first time in early July after reading the reviews and talking to the people at Samatha?s Katz & Dogz about how wonderful the vet is. Dr. Wasko is absolutely the most caring and knowledgeable vet I?ve ever been to. I have 6 animals and have had animals my whole life, and therefore have been to a lot of vets, and Dr. Waskow and Mile High Vet is by far the best I?ve ever been to. The place is spotlessly clean, top of the line diagnostic tools, wonderful front desk people and amazing vet tech?s. I can?t say enough good things about them. All of that is wonderful, but it meant a lot to me that Dr. Waskow spent a LONG time talking to me and answering any questions I had. Also, his staff called to check on my cat a couple of times to see how she was feeling (she was recovering for a URI). I will tell everyone I can about Mile High, and will continue to go there as long as I live in the area and own pets (which will be forever). Dr. Waskow really knows his stuff and is great with both of my dogs and my cat. I've been bringing all my pets here for years and I recommend them all the time. The only time I waited more than 10 minutes was when there was an emergency with another dog, but the receptionist let me know what was going on and I rescheduled for another day. My favorite time to go in is on Sunday mornings--my husband isn't working then so he can stay home with our 2 year old and I don;'t have to manage my daughter and my dog at the same time. Read Less

On my very first visit, Dr. Wasko spent a lot of time talking to me about my dogs heart condition. Last year my dad had a heart attack and his doctor didn't exlain hardly anything to us. My dog was nervous, but the doctor sat down with her and she warmed up to him. The doctor did not rush me in and out like a lot of other places. When somebody called the next day to check on my dog and I told her I forgot to ask the docotr a question, she gave him the message and he called me back that night. I highly recommend this clinic.
