Dr. Nicole Reilly has owned and led Aurora Hills Animal Hospital since 2011. Aurora Hills Animal Hospital is a full service, companion animal hospital capable of providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental health care. Here, our philosophy is to offer the best health care options for every pet, every time.
In our hospital, we have laboratory and radiology diagnostic capabilities, a well equipped surgical suite, a full pharmacy, advanced general dentistry, and a closely supervised hospitalization ward. We use an outside reference laboratory for advanced diagnostics. We work closely with board certified specialists and our local referral centers as needed to insure the best course of action for our patients.
Our job is to offer you the best care possible for your pet with the compassionate, personalized, attention to detail that you expect from your other family doctor. We are here to provide efficient and comprehensive diagnostics and treatment when your pets are ill. We will also work closely with you to tailor a health and wellness plan to your pet's specific needs. Our goal is to be a partner in your pet's health care in order to help you keep that bond for as many years as possible.
Services:
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, Aurora Hills Animal Hospital stresses the importance of semi annual physical examinations. Thorough examinations and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Wellness Consultations for all life stages: Our wellness program is tailored to your pet's individual needs. We provide complete physical examinations, age and lifestyle appropriate vaccines, parasite testing and control, screening lab work, and nutrition and behavioral counseling. We only use Purevax, non-adjuvanted feline vaccines unless an alternative is specifically requested. We follow the most recent vaccine guidelines in an effort to reduce over vaccination. We offer age appropriate lab work and diagnostics to screen for hidden disease. We feel very strongly that these visits should be a partnership between the doctor and owner.
Surgical Services: Our well equipped surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We can use local board certified veterinary surgeons to perform advanced procedures.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using certified veterinary technicians and modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. Our patients have some of the best anesthesia recoveries due to our expertise in this area.
Chronic Pain Consultations: Chronic pain, such as that associated with arthritis or other chronic diseases requires a multi-modal approach to treatment. There is not a "one size" treatment plan. We consult with pet owners regarding the many options available to treat pain.
Internal medicine: We can diagnose and treat a wide variety of common medical problems. We offer referrals to internal medicine specialists who perform ultrasounds, endoscopic procedures and help us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. All of our radiographs can be reviewed by a board certified veterinary radiologist. We work with local board certified veterinary radiologists to provide non-urgent abdominal and thoracic ultrasound here at the hospital.
Electrocardiography Services: We consult with cardiology specialists to provide ECGs right here at the hospital. We work closely with the cardiologists to treat complicated cardiac cases.
Dentistry: Our dental service is a 12 step process including teeth cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, surgical tooth extractions, tooth sealants and minor oral surgery.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, cytology and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification. Microchips are a harmless device, the size of a grain of rice. The only information on the chip is a number unique to your pet. The chip is injected under the skin and between the shoulder blades.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heart worm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets. We also offer a convenient online pharmacy for your pet prescriptions.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and specific medical conditions.
Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Emergency Care: Aurora Hills Animal Hospital has no after hours emergency care, we strongly recommend you contact an Emergency Hospital.
Laser Therapy: We offer a Class IV Therapeutic Laser. Therapy laser uses the infrared wavelengths of light to penetrate the tissues. The laser increases blood flow to the tissues, which decreases inflammation, swelling, pain and bacteria are also reduced in number. Therapeutic laser is useful post surgically, on wounds, infections, arthritic conditions, and nearly any problem that results in inflammation.
