This is to Dr. Haas, for being the most amazing vet we have ever been to! He has saved our pets lives on multiple occasions. Our cat, Isla, Is one example of an animal of ours that doctor Haas saved. He 10000000% saved her life. We adopt all of our family pets from rescue shelters and Dr. Haas has always gone above and beyond to ensure the health of our animals. NOW to speak to a few people that have left 1 star- I would like to rebuttal each and every one of you! For the people that gave Dr. Haas a 1 star- You should think outside of your emotions and know that he was focusing on your animals health needs and not your emotional needs. His main focus, as any doctors main focus should be, is for health and physical well being. If your dog/cat or you need emotional support, there are other specialists for that in the mental health area. Sincerely, Beth and Britton Anderson Read Less

We just started to take our very young Shelti Puppy, Keeper, to Dr. Haas. His staff were very friendly and kind while we waited to be seen. Each animal and owner that came in was treated with a friendly greeting, treats, if desired. It is first come first served office and the wait can be a bit, but it is comfortable. Dr. Haas is a very skilled Vet. He was very knowledgable about our type of puppy and it's needs. He was thorough in his examination and patient with the records we were required to have filled out. He even talked to the Breeder about issues he was concerned about. Lastly, he refused to charge us for the visit! 5 stars for us! Read Less

This man is in no way shape or form fit to be a veteranarian. He did not so much as greet our dog prior to demanding "throw him on his side on the table" to get a nail trim. We requested to try to distract our dog by letting him lick peanut butter (which we brought) while the "vet" trimmed his nails and he refused, we inquired as to why and his response was "because I said so" and then aggressively grabbed our dog by the scruff and continued to try to pin him down while our dog was trying to escape and kick. We had to demand multiple times to let go of our dog before he released his grip. He rudely spoke to his employees and talked down to them in front of ourselves as well as other customers. What an awful human being- truly only a monster who does not care or have a human component could/would treat animals this way. He does not deserve one star on here but unfortunately it makes you select at least one to write a review. Please love your animals enough to never bring them near this so-called human. This is NOT connected to the Pet Palace. They are helpful and kind people. It is truly unfortunate they are associated with this monster. Read Less

I love this office and Dr. Haas. Our animals have been patients of his for over 20 years. He is currently caring for my mom's, my kids, and my pets which include 6 dogs and 4 cats. He thoroughly checks out the animals every time we go in with a concern. Although he is direct, we have a great relationship with him! He genuinely cares about the well being of our animals and is reasonably priced so is usually very busy. He doesn't waste a lot of time during appointments and doesn't recommend or perform any services simply for the sake of charging his pet parents. I hate it when I have to take my pets anywhere else. I also love that daily there are walk in hours so no need for an appointment. Highly recommend this vet... Read Less

I have taken several pets (dogs, puppies, rabbit) to Dr. Haas. I've spent several hundreds of dollars for his services over the last 6-8 months. I also recently referred a friend to take his dog to his clinic which put another $450 into his pocket. I agree with the previous comments about him sometimes being a little "rough around the edges" yet tolerable. Yesterday, my recently-evicted brother showed up at my doorstep with his wounded kitten. My friend already had an follow-up appt scheduled to have his dog's stitches removed so I thought I would tag along and bring the kitten hoping to simply purchase some antibiotics. I told the receptionist my situation, advised her up front that this was not my kitten and that I could not afford to pay for a full treatment visit but rather was hoping to obtain some antibiotics for the infected leg wound if the doctor could spare a moment. If not, I said I completely understood. She stepped away to go talk to Dr. Haas; returned and told me to go ahead and come back with my friend to see the doc. I don't know where the communication failed but to say Dr. Haas was extremely rude would be an understatement! Before I could get two words out, he loudly informed me he would not do anything for the kitten without a minimum $60 office fee plus any treatment charges. He continued ranting about how he doesn't work for free, etc. I tried to explain that I was planning to bring the kitten to the Dumb Friends League, but wanted to get him some antibiotics (which I was ready and willing to pay for!) - but couldn't even finish my sentence before he berated me about "needing to take some responsibility and not getting pets I couldn't afford!" Wow! I was completely shocked, embarrassed and offended. Needless to say, neither I nor my friend will be returning with any of our 'well-afforded pets' to this vet. Read Less

Absolute worst vet EVER. Dr. Haas is so rude and is a complete idiot. Brought my cat in to get groomed and the vet didn't even have the record ready and could not find it in the mess of the office space. When the vet finally found my cats medical record he said it had been over a year since my cat had been groomed or gotten an blood work or vaccinations. Wrong. Complete lie when my cat had been in 4 months earlier. He refused to let me leave with my cat after saying I didn't want him groomed there. The vet was actually raising his voice at me and was being very unprofessional and extremely rude. I should never feel uncomfortable taking my cat to a vet. He kept referring to my cat as a girl even after I corrected him. He was looking at the record and it clearly says my cat is a male. He seem to have to have no memory of ever examining or grooming my cat when I had brought him there before. I will not be going back ever ever again. Worst experience and this vet is a space cadet. If you love your pets then go anywhere but here. I'd give negative stars on this review if possible. Read Less

Dr. Haas and his staff are the best. He has been my vet for 23 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. He has gone above and beyond on many occasions to help me with my pets, calls after hours to see how they are doing and has sent them over the rainbow bridge with compassion for me and my pets. Dr. Haas tells it like it is and I guess that can be off-putting if you don't want to hear what he says. If your pet is overweight, he will tell you and suggest proper care. If your dog has behavioral issues that are not medical based, he will tell you that as well so you can get the proper training to help your dog. He is fair in his pricing and doesn't try to sell you tests or meds that you don't need. Also, he has taken cats from Aurora Animal Shelter for 20 years to get them and their kittens homes so they aren't euthanized. I dread the day I have to find a new vet. Read Less

Unfortunately i did take him back to get neutered and i had asked 3 times if i would be able to purchase pain medicine for puppy to hv at home.i was told he would not need any.my puppy suffered and whimpered all night and he also had gotten horrible rash when they shaved him for procedure.it honestly looked like someone shaved him with dullest razor or clippers it was horrible! To make it worse i noticed 4 of his puppy canines had been REMOVED !!!!! no one had ever told me or even asked my permission as i would not hv allowed that!! I called them the next day and receptionist had audacity to tell me they dont feel pain and thats part of service dr performs when neutering! Funny how it was not on receipt or itemized procedures!! They were very sneaky about it.i insisted on speaking with dr.haas and when he called me back he never said sorry!!!he was  hemming and hawing alot!! I called another vet at different location explained what happened and was told that my breed of dog really needed pain meds and would hv been sent hm with few days worth of pain med and that BY LAW THEY HAVE TO ASK PERMISSION TO PULL TEETH!!!  i would not give dr.haas even 1 star!! If I could give zero stars I would. We took our 10 year old jack Russell in to get a cough diagnosed. They ended up having to do gum surgery/tooth extraction bc of advanced periodontal disease. I called a few hours after surgery and could hear Bosco barking loudly in the background so they told me he was too wound up and I could come get him. We were told before the surgery that we would be sent home with pain medicine for him and they sent nothing. That night Bosco wouldn't stop panting and pacing and whining. We called an emergency vet hotline and they were astonished that they hadn't given him pain meds for post op recovery and stated his had probably worn off and he was in severe pain. We tried all need get to calm him down but he ended up getting so worked up that he had a heart attack and passed. We brought him back to the vet to see what had gone wrong, questioned them on not giving us pain medicine for him and asked for an autopsy. They denied that his passing was bc of any lacking on their part, refused the autopsy and simply told us that they'd cremate him for free. As if that wasn't bad enough, when they did get his ashes back we had to call them after so much time had passed bc they had gotten them back and misplaced them. ALSO we had told them before bringing Bosco in that he didn't do well around strange dogs he didn't know or cats and there were 3 cats in the examination and a dog under the table.....we will never take another pet here and have to wonder every day that had we picked a better bet if Bosco would still be alive and with us. They are amazing. If you are looking for a vet who actually cares more about your animal than does their pay check this is the place to go. My 3 year old cat had crystals in his bladder and was unable to pee. I took him and they kept him for a couple days. With all the antibiotics, fluid, urinalysis and the medicated food prescribed (wet and dry) they only charges me $286 and if anyone has had to go to an emergency vet, they know that this is a killer price. Anyways, after a couple days my cat was still straining even though he was eating and drinking and taking his meds. We brought him back again and they kept him for 3 more days with the same treatments. After 3 days, they only charged me $125. Can you believe it?! Totally amazing. The staff is great, very very reasonably priced and the store is awesome. You get to see all the kitties and dogs hang out around the store and everything. I will definitely continue to treat my cats there. Thank you Dr. Phil!Read Less

I have taken my pets to Dr. Haas for years. To some people he may across as rude, but in reality he is just a no nonsense vet. Dr. Haas has years of experience and knows what he is doing. He is not there to give warm and fuzzies, he is there to treat and care for your animal and tells you like it is when caring for your animal. I get it that most people are not used to this, but I rather have a vet that is willing to tell me how it is versus what I want to hear. He has NEVER failed in the care of my pets and I generally have never had to take them back. He has examined them, diagnosed, and treated, period. Last, another reason I recommend Dr. Haas is he is very affordable, with high quality care, and he does NOT push sales on you! Let me start by saying I would probably recommend this vet for basic pet needs, such as vaccines and regular check ups, even though he can come off as a bit of a jerk. But if anything out of the ordinary comes up, I would definitely look elsewhere. He hooks people in with his lower prices, but then he makes you come back repeatedly for the same issue. I took my newly adopted dog in with soft stool, and he diagnosed it as giardia after doing a snap test. He was on medication for over a week with no improvement. I brought the dog back in, the vet did another snap test, and kept my dog on the same medication, different dose while also doing an abrupt food change with no transition period. My dog started throwing up, along with no improvement in the stool. I took him in a third time, he diagnosed my other dog with giardia, put both dogs on the same medication as before, different dose again. After two days of no improvement (the vet said I should see improvement within 24 hours) I called him and asked for a different treatment plan. He yelled at me, said he would not give me a different medication, and said I must be doing something wrong (even though I told him multiple times I followed his instructions to the T). I also asked for a specific treatment plan that multiple other vets (I had called around) had recommended, and the vet tech had never heard of using it. After that I put both dogs on chicken and rice, finished the medication, and brought them to a new vet. The new vet did a different test, found out it was not giardia, told me snap tests can have false positives (Pet Palace vet did not mention this), and put both dogs on a different medication, and we saw improvement within the next day. Long story short, if you want some guy who is stuck in his ways and refuses to look into different/new treatment plans while you spend a lot of money on something that doesn't work, go with this guy.Read Less

This vet was awful. He was like the evil monster hiding in the cave at the back of the pet store, like a vampire ruling over his cute kingdom. The techs were nice, but overall this was a pretty frustrating experience. The vet was condescending and clearly wasn't taking us seriously. He also seemed like he was being rude to the techs and commanding them around harshly which made me uncomfortable. We brought our dog in because one of her nipples has been super inflamed and has been oozing crust and goo for weeks, and its pretty obvious. We didn't realize that it was her nipple at first, and he acted like as soon as he realized it was a nipple he had solved the problem, even though nipples aren't supposed to excrete black, white, and yellow goo/crust, but he was very adamant that he could see nothing and kept insisting that it was because she probably had a false pregnancy when she went into heat and it's some sort of late lactation, even though we explained to him that she's been spayed for months and definitely never went into heat. He seemed pretty apathetic and he was annoying and wouldn't listen. He prescribed her with antibiotics anyway (hopefully it'll help, but I don't know since he insisted that her problem didn't exist so I don't know what he thinks he was prescribing medicine for). Also, there were all kinds of other pets, like cats and dogs that live at the store, hanging out in the examination room, which kinda seems like a generally bad idea since animals tend to make other animals nervous, and having all your healthy pets hanging out in the room that everybody brings their sick pets into all the time seems pretty stupid also. This place was just generally uncomfortable and frustrating. I felt like I was on the verge of getting into a fight with the vet the whole time and I'm pretty sure he was getting that from me and it was making him act even more hostile.Read Less

Do not take rats here. Not only was the examination not helpful, but another exotic vet informed me that the topical ointment I was prescribed by this clinic could have been harmful. The office should not inform people that Dr. Haas sees rats, he did not demonstrate that he is qualified to do so. *Update 9/2014* One star added because the vet was apologetic and offered a partial refund. He also seems to want to learn how to treat the rats but, again, I cannot recommend this vet for rats at the current time. *Update 2/2015* I saw and appreciate that the vet took to the time to reply to my original post. I will not update my rating further as I still don't trust that this particular establishment is a good stop for rats. However, it seems that it is not uncommon for many vets to not feel comfortable and/or not be knowledgeable with rats as they are prone to a variety of specific health problems. If you have rats, I recommend that you do your research and find an exotic specialist who is very confident with rats specifically. It took me 5-6 months to finally find someone. I was extremely disappointed with my visit to this vet. I felt that the doctor did not listen to the behavioral issues we were having with our dog, talking over us when we tried to explain. He was rude and condescending toward us.He claims in review responses that the pet is his concern and be even sounded sincere in a phone call to us, but it was a different story during the visit. He may be actually be concerned about the pet, but he did not hide his disdain for us as owners. Price for cleaning is low, so was ability to diagnose & handle the dental problem properly.  When new vet extracted bad teeth & put dog on antibiotics, problems went away.  Cleaning rotted or abscess teeth doesn't take care of the problem - I believe the vet's bad performance resulted in extensive dental problems and pain for my dog.l Read Less

REPORT
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS VET!! He is the worst person I've ever met. He has no respect for you or your pets. You WILL regret it... and he treats his staff awful too.
