Expensive! OMG! So so so so expensive!!! They did help us out at a horrible time with our pup, but their charges are so high!! Wow! I strongly recommend doing your research in advance of an emergency so you don’t end up paying through the roof. I couldn’t recommend them because of how they gouge your wallet. Beware the highest fees I’ve ever paid for 24 hours of care. Grateful to have our little girl but heartbroken this practice uses situations like this to be opportunistic. Read Less

Never easy but I had to put my cat to sleep this morning. Everyone was very caring and gentle with Momo. They worked very diligently through the night trying to stabilize her. Ultimately when she stopped breathing on her own the doctor was very patient with us and so gentle with Momo. They did all they could and didn't even charge us for some. I can't thank them enough for caring so well for Momo in her final hours. Read Less

My cat decided to jump onto the wood stove and burned all of his paws. It was awful, and I was a mess. The team at Boulder Emergency Pet Clinic not only provided great care to my cat, but was also very kind to me and took the time to reassure me when I was freaking out. I was able to call them back multiple times to get the medication refilled and to ask follow up questions. They were so accommodating and always happy to help and give advice. I took him to the regular vet for a follow up and bandage change and the cost was just about the same between the regular vet and the emergency vet. I would recommend them to anyone, they were so great to my cat and to me. Just as a follow up - I called them tonight (4 months after the original incident) to ask about a cyst on my cat's leg and as usual, they were great. Amanda is wonderful, so helpful and knowledgeable. And she remembered me and my cat which was nice. I can't say enough nice things about them. Read Less

I went to Boulder Emergency Vet Clinic last night because my dog had a large gash in her leg. I had a very bad experience. My dog is not good with other dogs, and when I explained to the person at the front desk, I received a very rude, unhelpful, and generally unwelcoming response. I asked a couple of follow-up questions, and got a seriously bad attitude from the woman at the front desk — rolling eyes, snarky responses, and just general rudeness. I didn't feel at all safe bringing my dog inside or about the quality of medical care she would get, much less that anyone there would care at all about her. Ultimately, I left and went to the other emergency vet in Boulder, where I received amazing treatment and had the pleasure of working with a kind and caring staff that definitely knew what they were doing. I would recommend going to any other emergency vet in Boulder before this one. Read Less

I had to have my dog of 10 years put to sleep, cancer made him immoble almost overnight. It was 4am and he started crying and I had to act quickly. I actually went to a different 24hr clinic first that was a couple minutes closer. When I went in and told them the situation, I asked if they had any type of cart to bring him in, (wieghed about 75lbs) the girl gave me a digusted look, said no you'll just have to get him in here some how. Then she handed me a form and said "fill these out first", and then disappeared into the back. I filled out two lines and stopped, walked out the door, and left. I drove to Boulder Animal Clinc, told them the same thing, the girl said "I can get him", came out to my vehical, swooped up my baby and took him inside.  They showed compassion for my dog, for me, made sure I was comfortable being with him when he took his last breath, even shed a tear with me as we finished up the very afordable process. I was so impressed I thought "I should write a review", but then before I got around to it, it didn't happen. Today a sympathy card  arrived about my fallen friend. It was from the clinic! I have never written a reveiw before about ANYTHING, but I was so impressed with how they have  cared for me, I had to break the streak. Amazing people, amazing service, they took one of the sadder days of my life, and left me with a positive memory. Read Less

Our sweetest best friend, Sadie dog spent the night at the BEPC last January 2017 after an emergency splenectomy surgery. I had full confidence in the staff there to take care of her. She had never had surgery in her 12 1/2 years of her life so that meant a lot to me (us) and they did take great care of her. April 23rd 2017 Sadie passed away at home on a Sunday. I remembered the Boulder Emergency Clinic so we brought her body there to be cremated. We were in tears. They handled us personally and professionally and got us on our way. They even sent us a card signed by Wendy, Andrea and Raven with their own personal message from each gal. Thanks ladies and keep on taking care of our beloved pets when the regular vets are out. Very cool they cover for the vets regular hours! Read Less

The sad day came that I had to part with my senior cat. She was such an important part of my life, and saying goodbye was incredibly difficult. The staff and doctor at BEPC were compassionate and professional in explaining that my baby girl was experiencing kidney failure and wouldn't be getting better. They were patient with us both as we said goodbye, and even though this was my first time in their clinic, I felt they genuinely cared about us. They made a paw print ornament for me while I collected myself, and had kind words both when I said goodbye and when I picked up her remains. They even sent me a sympathy card. Even though I was there under the worst circumstances, I could not have asked for kinder people to help me through the experience. Read Less

Our dog was hit by a car on a Saturday night and so we brought him to this place. Before arriving we remarked how lucky we were in that only his rear leg was injured. The vet and her two techs insisted that they triage the whole dog to rule out the possibility of damage to internal organs. We said that was fine but two hours later they still had not cleaned the injured leg at all. They put him on an IV (which took both forelegs & 3 attempts & did not seem necessary), gave him pain medicine, and told me his leg was broken and that he should spend the night there. We said lets do the x-ray and then talk about what was best. Finally the x-ray was done ($190) and showed only a dislocation. The vet said he'd be happier spending the night in a cage there, to which we responded: "no" he will be more comfortable at home. She kept insisting that we stay longer acting like we were incapable of giving him the antibiotics and pain meds that she prescribed (after 3 hours). They went so far as to use scare tactics to try to make us leave him so we would have to pay more! We finally stated that they should give us the bill & our dog so we could leave and take him to a proper vet the next day. $600 later he is comfortably home and we will be following up with a proper vet to actually clean and treat his injured leg, which they never did. This place is terrible. Read Less

My male Great Dane turned his stomach last Thursday at 1 am. My wife and I rushed to Boulder Emergency Clinic right away. We ran up to the entrance with my Great Dane running thru the door and I told them what had happened. They take him in the back(in which we could not follow ( for insurance reasons and liability) for treatment. After a few minutes the Veterinarian "Yvette" comes into the waiting room and tells us that "yes" he has turned his stomach. I tell her that he needs to have surgery right away. Her remark was that they do not do that here and he needs to be transported right around the corner for surgery. My wife and I said let's get him there. Her remark was that the other facility(which I found out a day later was Alpenglow) needs 5000.00 dollars paid up front or they will not perform the surgery. So in a scramble trying to come up with the money( trying some website they suggested in which crashed at that time. 20 minutes later the (so-called Doctor) comes back thru the door and tells us we need to get back here as he is dying. We scramble to the back with her following telling us "Don't slip" "don't fall". We get to the examining room and she precedes to tell us that he is going to die and we need to sign papers to put him to sleep. Needles to say everything was chaotic with us crying and not knowing what to do. I look at her and asked "Is he dying" she said "yes". I sign the papers and she begins to hook up the solution and ask us again "are you sure you want to do this" we said yes. I have been thru once before and it's critical on time to save a life of Abdominal Distention or Bloating. She administered the solution and he died with his head in my hands. 2 things here. #1- Why did she immediately tell us to go around the corner (2 minutes away to Alpenglow because she could not perform this type of surgery. #2- Why did she tell us that Alpenglow would not perform the surgery unless funds were paid immediately. I called Alpenglow the following day and they told me that "yes" they would have been able to perform the surgery immediately and that they did not require to be paid in full. I had 900.00 dollars in my pocket at the time. In my opinion, when we went thru the door at Boulder Emergency Pet Clinic, he didn't have a chance of survival. If Only we would have know about Alpenglow and went there first. Yes, it was a long shot, but at least he would have had a chance. My recommendation is that; If you have a severe emergency? go to Alpenglow and not Boulder Emergency Pet Clinc. Chances of survival are slim to none. Ironically? A good friend found out what happened to beloved family member and Boulder Emergency Pet Clinic did the exact same thing to his beloved dog as well. Read Less

I have nothing but good things to say about the staff here. I came in at 11 pm one night with my pug after he got a dog bite. They tried to take the most conservative route (that is, with the least amount of anesthesia) but had to use a bit more sedation as he was fidgety and a bit scared of the clippers. They made sure he came around and was able to walk and were not upset in the least when he accidentally pooped and pee'd in waiting area. They did a wonderful job fixing up my dogs ear after a "misunderstanding" he had with a Rottweiler. We came in and he was bleeding and they had us see the vet first thing because they wanted to stop the bleeding asap. They were also very up front about the costs and there were no hidden fees or other nonsense. The staff is great. They let me go back and sit with my dog when he was coming out of surgery. And I didn't have to schedule any follow up visits for changing the bandages or getting the stitches removed. They just told me to come in whenever is convenient and they didn't charge me for any of that. I pray I don't have anymore pet emergencies but if I do I will definitely be back. Read Less

She ended up needing to be on fluids for the next 3-4 hours, after we left her with them they called at least every hour to let me know how she was doing. I was sent to Northside Emergency Clinic when Banfield refused to help my dog Charlie when he was in distress. When I arrived I was asked to fill out a brief form and then Charlie was whisked away. They considered him a "code red" I wasn't asked a lot of questions at the time...all focus was on Charlie. Tests were run and we were told what was wrong with Charlie and how much it would cost. I was also told they couldn't promise the outcome because of how sick he was or I could put him down now and end the suffering. Unfortunately the cost was too high so we had to lose Charlie that day. It was the worst day of my life, but I was allowed to spend as much time with him as I wanted until the end and then he was treated with the utmost care. I was also given a nice box for his ashes and a paw print of Charlie's when I returned. Days later I received a Sympathy Card from the entire staff. Although this day did not end how I hoped I believe I was treated fairly with respect and given the truth in diagnose. I am only giving 4 stars because well how could I really love anything that happened that day. I also want to say that I believe that vet costs are too high regardless of the place. There should be a better way to handle these costs for families trying to save a family member. I have read the negative remarks that have been left and I don't think that they don't want to help, they just don't have alternatives to the cost for people. However the staff was considerate and sympathetic to my loss and grief and did their best to let me come to terms that day on my own without pressure. If I ever need emergency medical help I will go there immediately. I just know if I ever get another dog I will be purchasing pet insurance immediately. Read Less

If you are wealthy and you can afford this place than by all means take your pet here if it's Saturday night and an emergency.  I personally feel it was a rip off. To splint a foot and take ex rays cost over half a months rent ($500? lolz). They also were not entertaining the idea of billing. I'm very bitter towards them. A big shoutout to the Emergency Pet Clinic for helping us out in a stressful situation. We are animal lovers and found a stray dog with no collar standing in the middle of the road on a very cold and snowy Sunday night. The Humane Society and Animal Control were both closed, so we brought the dog here to see if we could get his microchip scanned. The woman who helped us (unfortunately I didn't get her name!) was totally kind and ultra-helpful, gave us a leash for the dog, scanned his microchip, called the pet locator service and helped put us in touch with the owner, and did not charge us anything. This was a huge help and something that a vet hospital is not obligated to do; much appreciated! Read Less

I brought my vomiting kitty into the emergency clinic because it was on a weekend and my normal vet clinic wasn't open.  After getting an X-Ray it showed she had an obstruction in her intestines that wouldn't pass on its own.  The options were surgery or to put her down (she's only two years old). She's already had an expensive surgery for this same reason once before so we were trying to make the hard decision of paying again or putting her down. Dr. Marano was EXTREMELY patient and helpful. He took his time to answer all the questions we had and gave us all the time we needed to make a decision. We ultimately went for the surgery and he did a great job. I had complete trust in him to take care of my kitty. She had a quick recovery with no complications.  I can't comment on the other doctors but I would recommend Dr. Marano with no hesitations! My husband took our dog in when we returned home and she wasn't able to put weight on one of her legs.  They did a thorough physical examination and washed out the area she had gotten a small puncture wound in the morning (when she evidently acquired the injury), but they completely missed the broken foot bone, and sent us home with anti-inflammatories for the puncture.  We're sorry we didn't press for an x-ray, as it turned out the break was not displaced and was not in an easy place to feel in the physical exam.  Treatment was quick, not cheap, but that's what you get for convenience. We had our first dog emergency Monday and called around midnight; got great coaching about our options over the phone from Michelle.  After an hour we decided we needed to go in, and we got a very welcoming and concerned reception from nurse Paul.   Dr. Lisa Carroll examined our dog very thoroughly and with obvious care.  The diagnosis was difficult but X-rays were immediately available, and his treatment is showing itself to be very successful. Now three days later he is recovering nicely. The next morning we took him to our regular vet along with the Xray films given to us.  The records had already arrived from Boulder Emergency Pet Clinic, and our vet concurred with Dr. Carroll's diagnosis and treatment choices.I can't imagine how we or our pet could have received better treatment.  The caring was evident, and everyone was clearly knowledgeable.  The prices were quite reasonable for emergency care.  We have since heard from other friends that they have also had very good experiences here.  Five stars. Brought my dying bunny in, who passed away almost as soon as we got there.  The doctor was nice, but the lady at the front desk was incredibly rude.  She announced that i owed $200 immediately (for them telling me my bunny was dead...they didn't actually *do* anything for her).  I was shocked and told her I didn't have that money, that they would have to bill me, and she demanded loudly to the packed waiting room that I tell her RIGHT NOW when I could pay.  I'm still not sure what they thought $200 was covering, as I said they did nothing for my bunny - no injections, oxygen, medication, anything.  I was in too much shock about my rabbit to try to get a better understanding of the bill.  I will never take another pet there and would not advise for anyone else to; the Alpenglow urgent care at 33rd and Walnut is very close by and the staff is much more compassionate. So this place has the hours that the humane society and most vets don't: 5:30 pm to 8 am. Hence, the emergency bit.I went here tonight to bring in my girlfriends roommates dog Max (i.e. Maxors) who was obviously in a lot of pain. The roommate was out of town, which complicated the situation a bit. In any case, we took the old boy in. $90 for the visit. They promptly checked us in, took care of max, checked him out, and gave him pain meds...so fast and with such good cheer that it put the human system to shame. (I've had some serious bad experiences with the American medical system, which I won't get into here). In any case, the vet was friendly and the pain meds fairly inexpensive (30). They offered to do an x-ray (130) but we decided to wait for the other roommate to get back: it looked like the old boy got into a bit of a scuffle with a younger bigger dog, so that definitely might have had something to do with it. In any case, the prices here are reasonable considering this was all without insurance  (I pay more for my meds and I have insurance) and the service was excellent. This is a great resource to have in Boulder if your beloved pet takes seriously ill during the night: I highly recommend it. Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

A big shoutout to the Emergency Pet Clinic for helping us out in a stressful situation. The woman who helped us (unfortunately I didn't get her name!) was totally kind and ultra-helpful, gave us a leash for the dog, scanned his microchip, called the pet locator service and helped put us in touch with the owner, and did not charge us anything. I have used this clinic for both a cat and dog emergency several years apart.  Both times they were "champions" in their care, compassion, and attention.  They seem to understand the stress the pet owner is experiencing with their pet emergency, and know exactly how to interact with the owner, while providing excellent care for the animal.  I've experienced several different veterinarians and technicians as they change with the shifts, and I've never had a complaint with any of them.  Also, their followup is excellent.  If you want to take your pet to a good clinic you can count on for immediate care by excellent staff, this is it.  You will appreciate the peace of mind.  I'll never go anywhere else. The Boulder Emergency Pet Clinic is an amazing place. A couple of years  ago in the middle of the night our cat, Mr Fibbs, stopped being able to urinate. He was in pain so we took him into the clinic. They took him back right away and started investigating. They did everything they could. They were very caring and compassionate and we quickly developed a relationship with them. it was clear they really cared about Mr Fibbs and about us. Naturally, the prices were a little expensive due to the emergency nature, but it was worth every penny for our positive experience. Read Less

Read Less
